Division one but probably getting relegated this season, after being one point off the league title last season.
I can sympathise with the superkeeper thingy. Or when you go through one on one and your player puts it inexplicably wide of the post from a great angle. Very frustrating. I'm taking a break and going back to Ultimate Team which is less of a strain on the medulla oblongata.
For those of you struggling in the lower leagues, here's a few tips.
Never control the defender closest to the ball. You'd have to have the reflexes of a cat to keep up with the opposing player twisting and turning. Use the right stick to select the player nearest the one you think they're going to pass to (not l1, which selects the closest player), and either get behind them if you think they're going to play a through ball, or in front of them to stop them playing the pass, and use r1 to get your nearest player to track the player in posession. It will take a few games to get used to the idea but once you do, you'll start nicking the ball high up the pitch and you'll be away. People panic when they have a player breathing down their necks and someone is standing in front of the guy they wanted to pass it to.
Although this is covered in the tutorial on fifa 12, outside of the top two divisions, very few people are actually using it correctly.
If they're trying to cut in from the wing, use r1 to track the player and bring another player over to cut off the inside and double up.
The only time I will control the player closest to the ball is if they have possession near the edge of my penalty area, in which case I will be holding both r2 and l2 to jockey them, and this will block 90% of any shot they make.
And stop sprinting all the time. When you've got the ball, probe.
Got a pretty decent side now, in my 3rd season (2nd season in the Championship).
Myhill
Martin Morrison Cathcart Wiggins
Green Boyd Elliot Surman
Lita Keogh
Bruce, Coutts, Tonge, Kitson, BWP being my main 'back-up brigade'. Looking to offload Waggy, BWP, Cort and Stephens when January comes around and bring in a new centre back and a winger and striker on loan (Conor Wickham my current target).7
Currently sitting 2nd behind Swansea with 14 games played.
currently DIV 1 in H2H seasons. I won the league and premier Cup and then nothing happened. just recycled back into div1. so i stopped playing H2H seasons. overall record of 84-20-19 (every game with CAFC) never got relegated.
anybody else experience really bad lag sometimes in 1v1 H2H ??? its terrible compared to last year.
i do love clubs tho. there is absolutely no lag in fifa pro clubs. almost like ea took all the lag from clubs play in fifa 11 and transferred that to fifa 12 1v1 H2H...
Apologies if this is a basic question and already covered. 9 year old playing FIFA 12 and tells me in Career Mode it keeps freezing (only got it for Christmas but Father Christmas shopped early when it was first released). Looked on line and understand there are patches. How does one get these patches - I'm not an XBOX person so simple language would be appreciated!
I'm currently in Division 3 on H2H and have only lost 9 games getting there.
On career mode I'm 3rd and chasing Huddersfield and Sheffield Weds for auto's.
I see that on FUT they've transferred some players but none to Charlton. : (
@Irobinson11 if its freezing alot then the disk may have a scratch on it. If so I would recommend you take it back to the shop and get a new one (if possible). If you do this your son shouldn't loose anything he's already done on the game because it will have saved on to the Xbox.
However if the above isn't an option than sometimes Game station will put a new magical layer on the disk that gets rid of the scratch (or they used to).
Hope this helps. (I'm no expert on this so don't take the advice 100%)
There isn't a scratch on the disc - that's the first thing we checked. Then I googled and read about patches for problems with 'freezing' - and that's where my knowledge ends - not knowing how to get the patch - I assume it means getting onto the EA Server - but need some advice how I do this - we don't have XBOX live (not that I am aware of) so just wondered if anyone on here can help interpret what I need to do. Otherwise I will take back to Sainsbury's if I can find receipt!
@Irobinson11 unfortunately you do have to have Xbox live to download the patches/updates. As addick16 said above its free for silver membership meaning you get the update/patches.
I've just googled it as well and it seems the only option other than an update is to either delete the game from the memory of the Xbox meaning you'll lose all your progress so far and there's no guaranty it'll fix the freezing.
Or you could take it back to Sainsbury's and get a new one which may have the new patch/update on it.
@cafc-1994 = you have to buy an online pass. ea find new ways to rip off their consumers every year... if you buy the game, u get an online pass code included within the game. but if you rent, or even borrow the game, the new user will need to purchase an online pass for xbox live features...
@addickted4life = transfers usually dont update until 2 weeks into FEB
Lroninson11 , you may have the same issue as I had , you have to delete a certain update on your hard drive - look online under ' FIFA 12 keeps freezing update problems ' - that should tell you how
No, am yet to discover that. Have finished Career mode (a mix of real play and sim - I haven't devoted 6 months of my life to this game), now starting Live Head to Head Seasons and have been promoted into League 7 with CAFC with not too much fuss other than when I am smashing a team and they try to get me to quit the game and lose the points by waiting the max time allowed to take a throw, free kick, goal kick etc - d*cks! It's a cracking part of the game though with some really good players up against you, which beats the CPU any day. Oh and no goal drought for BWP in this game, 7 in last 3. Does anyone else play this particular mode of the game?
Anyone know how to get a super spint out of your strikers once or twice a game? South American teams I have played in particular have managed to use a skill which sees their striker bomb past and away your back four. Haven't a clue how that is done. Played a fellow CAFC fan on it today. One of us in home, the other away - didn't quite feel right.
Due to the fact that stats are mostly done by people like you and me, the sprinting etc. Is relative to the league they play in, not necessarily across all leagues, so many brazilian players end up being much faster than they should be. Same as the mexican league and mls

Would love to test Haynes 90 pace.

I know its probably because we're a 'small' club in the eyes of E.A but its not fair.
I would like Russel or Yann now.
