Freaks - an old film set in a freak circus, using real freaks!

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6355110065089064433# you can watch it here, or it's on DVD.

It caused an outrage at the time, but it's really ahead of it's time in terms of the message it gives.

    The Libertine with Johnny Depp.

    Tony Hancock's films

The Punch and Judy Man and The Rebel.

I also agree with The Warriors mentioned above assuming it is the New York gangland film from the late seventies.

I found that film seriously disturbing the first, and only time, I saw it!

Not sure if this qualifies, but Kick-Ass has to be one of my favourite films of all time. It totally passed me by when in the cinema, so I only caught up with it once released on DVD. Chloe Moretz is brilliant as Hit Girl, and she was only 11 at the time. Matthew Vaughn is a very talented director and his partnership with Jane Goldman (Jonathan Ross' missus) has already produced some excellent films.

Match Point is unforgivably bad film-making.  Awful acting, Johnathon Rhy Meyers who is sociopathically in a self-loving void and just about everyone else I could give a tangerine dream for.  I've only seen one film Johnathon Rhys Meyers is great in and that's where he's a hateful, sociopathic, emotionless sadistic killer.  I figure that suits his personality.  That was Ride With The Devil.

Harry he's here to help, is a far superior let the wrong sociopathic one in film.  The Warriors is superb, it has Dexter's dead dad in it, who was in a reem of good dark movies from the seventies.

Goodbye Lenin - an old lady in East Berlin recovers from a coma after the wall has come down.  As she is fragile and a dedicated party member her family try to pretend that communism hasn't collapsed creating their own news reports and other whacky things.

Cheers for the tip.  Watched it last night.  Great film; funny and sad.

How many of you got yourselves to the cinema to see Senna?  I found it absolutely incredible.  OK it did paint (unfairly) Prost as a bit of a devil-like figure and wrongly claimed Mansell had to do nothing to win the title in 1992 as his car was so good, but I had a very big lump in my throat when I walked out of the cinema, the build up to the crashes of Ratzenburger and Senna at Imola was extremely moving.

This has had great reviews but unfortunately the cinemas in Bournemouth only cater for the masses and kids so I haven't seen it yet but I'm looking forward to catching it some time.

    "A Serbian film"

As its called, one nasty visceral piece of cinematography, but also brilliant at the same time

    Its right at the edge.

don't watch it with your mum on a Sunday afternoon

I cant help thinking it is one nasty 90 minute ode to exploitation and filth, but boy did it stick in the memory

Insidious is shit. Third rate hollywood 'shocks' that were done a million times better by the Japanese 15 years ago. It's just like Paranormal Activity - if you thought that was frightening you'll love it (and you need to see a doctor about your lack of a brain)

I saw the uncut version of this and im not easily shocked but this made me feel sick. Its a vile piece of filth that should never have seen the light of day and is probably the worst film i have ever seen.
