  • cheers for the updates Isaw, have a good night out !
  • The more I read about this game, the more it seems the conditions turned it into a practice match. Cardiff website mentions several drinks breaks. ISLS said the second half was a non event.

    Probably the conditions.

  • Seriously though, wheres alonso!!!

  • Seriously though, wheres alonso!!!

He joined the squad late - his season for Tenerife finished late, so I would guess that he's a week behind on pre-season training.

    God knows.

Night out on hold til tomorrow. 4am start and drive til 2pm with a couple of comfort breaks has done me in. Pre match beers were not successful in getting me going! Got another week here to make the most of so no disaster missing out on some of the idiots about tonight.

As for conditions clem no doubt first half was far worse. pitch in full on sun and temps still above 35 degrees and no wind at all. second half was two different elevens plus majority then entire pitch in shade. drinks breaks made it a bit strange and knocked rhythm but goal was cue for us to have our worst ten mins. maybe training has done them all in as you say though some if not most of our lot certainly played a very competitive "friendly". few crunching tackles.

Though pitch hilarious and officials worse...CP very vocal to them at times. Slatet was on pitch at end talking to coaches during warm down. Fetching khaki attire!
  • Perhaps one of the reasons Bover might being playing so well is because he's used to these conditions? It might be a bit different on rainy and windy nights at Rochdale in January. Just a thought, I hope I;m wrong.

Well Rochdale is quite flat so he should be allright as the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain :))

Alonso was at training on Thursday night in kit but did  not take part in 11 a side game or running afterwards - I would think that as suggested he needs more recovery time from the end of the season - Tenerife's last game was june 4.

  • BWP's a new signing? do people not realize the goals he scored for us last year..
  • Did many Charlton fans make it over?
  • What crap journalism:

Charlton, who had already played and won twice, included two new signings in striker Bradley Wright-Phillips, and right-back Miguel Victor Diaz, a former Real Oviedo defender.

Out of all our new signings, including Wiggins, Morrison, Taylor, Sullivan, Pritchard and Bover, he picks out two players who don't fall into this category at all! Oh and Matt Pritchard hit the bar for us, I didn't realise we were letting relatives of players join in!

Pritchard it was who hit the bar with a shot from edge of area after morrison headed a fk onto bar

About 25-30 charlton there rough guess.
  • Youth are playing this morning and sounds like osborne has had a bad ankle injury as an ambulance has arrived.

Poor kid. Hope its not too serious.

  • :-( not good
  • Highlights of this or Bristol game anywhere?
  • at worst the players have had a chance to get together on and off the field and play against two reasonably strong sides from a higher division.. Most of the CAFC  newcomers are youngsters and will find it easier and quicker to gell into a formidable team. This year we are going straight up
  • A French trialist played and scored two. Under 18s. They won 5-3. Versus the Jills.

  • What on earth is up with the woman commentating on the game?

    'Whitts 'megged the charlton player'?

'this double dragback failing to create a meaningful opportunity'

'this cross into the Corridor Of Uncertainty'

  • Most annoying comm i've ever heard

Not the best but you can just about make out our right back getting skinned and Cardiff taking the lead.

That was Matt Taylor that got skinned out wide, due to the RB being further up the pitch when Pritchard's pass was originally intercepted.
  • I know they are only friendlies & we've only seen 10 second clips. But Morrison got caught out against Bristol C & Taylor against Cardiff.

At the moment, my biggest concern is still the centre half positions (although this may be unwarranted).
