[cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]Maybe says more about training at Liverpool than at Charlton.
;-)
reminds me of the amusing thread when people took as literal gospel a tweet from Jonjo about Charlton training being only shooting and five a side!!
Exactly, people read too much into what is a throw away comment from a player not intended as a public statement. It's a comment for his mates to read.
I'm confused - this was also from JJ's first interview at LFC..........
In his first interview as a Liverpool player from the Reds' training base in Bad Ragaz, Shelvey said: "Being at Liverpool is what every kid dreams of. When I was in school and in the playground I used to pretend to be players like Steven Gerrard, so it's unreal to think I'll be training with these players day in and day out.
"At Charlton training was just shooting and five-a-sides and I was getting home at 1pm. At Liverpool we're not getting home till 2pm or 3pm and that's what I needed. I needed to be somewhere where I could learn about the game because it got to the point where I wasn't learning at Charlton. I'm glad to be around the best people you could possibly be around.
How is this just joking with his mates? But, whatever went on in the past, it sounds as though CP is following first day teacher bit - the 'I'm tough, don't mess with me routine'. Good stuff.
No need to be confused. Some people interpret any statement in a way which supports their pre-conceived ideas.
So 3 players now commenting on what a knackering session they had today. Guess we should ignore it though. Throw away comments meant only for their mates.

lol...fundamental misunderstanding of the role and reach of social media , I think.
Seems the players already have their own nickname for him. Not Sir Chris, but Sgt-Major Powell !

leave it out
So they did a lot of running. Really? And the proves what?
Who's got the pre-conceived ideas here then? Those that are trying to shoe horn their theories into a couple of tweets "Commitment/not fit/men from boys/dropping like flies/PR spin" (none of which was said by the players as far as I can see) or me who is saying let's make a judgement on more than one flipping running session.

With the amount of tweets doing the rounds about how hard it was today, I reckon they're having a laugh at our expense.

it's a tweet so it must be sooooooo important and meaningful.

Exactly what I said on Twitter.
They've never talked about training before or at the same time like today. Definite wind up. They don't interact too much other than with each other (other than Benno).

No, no it can't be true. Please don't shatter the illusions of the people who thought it meant something.
Jonjo's comment about Liverpool training being harder probably had absolutely nothing to do with the physical intensity of it. I would imagine it is more to do with the standard of players who is training with and the need to concentrate and be on the top of his game to impress.
Although league 1 is completely different from the premiership i still think too much emphasis is put on physical training. If you can pass and retain the ball you shouldn't need to run after it all the time. I can't see with the amount of fixtures coming up how they would be able to implement a fitness regime which would improve the players fitness too much. I'm sure it was, like someone posted, more about getting an idea of everyone's fitness level.
To be honest, i would much prefer they were working on the shape of the team and implementing a style of play which got the best out of everyone. I'm probably being biased, but i think there will be a lot of different types of training sessions over the next couple of weeks as Sir Chris tries to find a successful style of play.
[quote][cite]Posted By: paulthecab[/cite]On twitter this morn saying good morn liverpool its great to be back![/quote] Wouldnt read too much into that, cant help but think it might be something to do with their result at Chelsea at the weekend, either that or hes gone home for a couple of days?

On a tuesday? Why would we let him have a day off from training....
perhaps he has an injury the liverpool medical team want to adress?
He said a couple of days ago he had a couple of days off and was going back home for a few days. We really should not read tweets if we are not going to read them all.

run em run em and then run em again
comitment is the key ingrediant to success if they cant show it in training you cant ask for it on a saturday.
Agreed, people are reading far too much in into 143 characters.
