Yes. BWP didn't play last night.

    True.

He was a decent prospect though. Man Utd released him but he had been on loan. Only 21.

I dont know where he's playing at the minute

Wikipedia and Soccerbase say he is without a club. Doesn't have much of a goalscoring record out on loan, but then a lot of young strikers don't, would have only been 18/19 when he went out on loan.

I remember the interview with him on the Sky Sports site last summer. He was hoping for a Championship side, clearly not going to find one now.
  • Possibly worth a trial then?

Someone Tweet one of the lads or SCP or something
  • NOT A RUMOUR! but was thinking ryan harley AM exeter city!

Didn't Brighton have a bid rejected for him?
  • Kevin Phillips anyone? Probably leaving Brum soon.

Bristol City's main transfer target in the January transfer window is Charlton's Johnnie Jackson. The free-scoring midfielder is currently the 2nd top scorer in the npower League One with 12 league goals this season, and is emerging as a top priority for City.

The creative midfielder recently signed from Notts County, who got promoted from League Two and has converted his form into League One. The fee is rumoured to be around £500,000.
  • No matter what division we are in we are bigger than them, great things are round the corner and I expect us to bypass them soon. I take it that snippet is from Football Bullshite.net. Having said all that it would not surprise me to see some clubs after our Johnnie.
  • They want Jonnnie Jackson?

    They can sod off!
  • The reason he moved to us is to be closer to his family in London I think so can't see him going to Bristol City.
  • ....and Dowie wanted to leave palarce for the same reason
  • !.....to be closer to his family. (Sorry - got interupted)

Money does talk but a pray we do not let him go.

Thank heavens, then , that we have new owners with the financial clout to be able to say 'sod off'. The old regime would have had little choice but to bite City's arm off for half a million.
  • BWP - questionable temperament but here he is scoring goals in the Championship: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2V-xoceCyOg

If he can recapture that form, I'd like to see him in a Charlton shirt
  • Paynter starts for Leeds tonight

Out of favour leeds striker Billy paynter going on loan to Charlton who were interested in his services whilst at swindon last season.

Newcastle looking to lure max gradel away from elland road.

  • Paynter had a good year last year but was really average before then and since then. No from me

As for BWP, I always thought of him as tall and lanky though it seems he's only 5'8"
  • He is tall and lanky standing next to SWP!
  • Agree re Paynter - been injured too so out of shape. Not sure he's that much better than Abbott tbh.
  • Watching him vs Arsenal, Leeds must be thinking 'we bought the wrong half of the strike team at Swindon'
  • To be fair to Paynter, playing upfront on your own against Arsenal is always hard, even more so when you have not played reguarly for 8-9 months and are desperate for your first goal. Perhaps should have scored in the second half but surely he will be judged on league form.

Leeds have been lucky that Becchio has stepped up to the plate this season in the absence of Beckford, therefore imho Paynter has an extra hard job winning the fans over as they adore Becchio up there.
  • Keisuke Honda (Japan international) is coming to the UK. Would add much needed mobility to our midfield.
