Is this some kind of witch-hunt against 'Einstein?'
I don't understand the vitriol against him. This is a forum on which everyone is supposed to be able to give their opinion, isn't it?
I'm surprised at some of the people who have baited and belittled him to be honest.
He may not have given his opinion in a very grammatically correct and well-punctuated way but then I could say that for 75% of posts on here.
To clarify his opinion I think he is saying that he doesn't think much of Slater, the new chairman. The point is that we don't know very much about him. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think that we only have negatives about him so far in that he stated he would sit down with Parky and discuss things but instead sacked him. Secondly we seem to be struggling to get a suitable replacement.
Am I missing something here? Hasn't 'Einstein' got a point?
[cite]Posted By: jimmymelrose[/cite]I'm surprised at some of the people who have baited and belittled him to be honest.
I can't speak for others, I thought he was just a wind up but decided to engage in responding to the points he was making
This was his response:
[cite]Posted By: E=mc2[/cite]Please do not read into what I wrote, It's easy to talk, but it's harder for the likes of the new owners to actually make the right decisions, If anyone really took my words as gospel, how lame is that. I was merely just provoking.
So he was in fact on the wind up. Perhaps that is why most people responded as they did.
You see Slater sacking Parky as a negative. I see it in quite the opposite way. After seeing the way things were going he acted decisively and I was pleased to see it. Calling him a liar for having the benefit of senses and a brain to interpret the information which they relay to it is idiotic. Getting on his case for not having single handedly made us title winning material in the space of a few days is beyond idiotic.
So no, 'Einstein' doesn't have a point, because he's an arsewit as he has proved on numerous occasions on this thread.

Calling him a liar is idiotic, yes, agreed.
But in saying that Slater is no good he may turn out to be right. So far I only see things getting worse. At least with Parkinson we knew what we had and we'd now be targetting and getting in new players during the transfer window. The team would also be preparing for our next game properly.
By the time we get our new manager who incidentally is likely to be no better, maybe worse, than who we had before, we may have lost 2 or 3 more games, and the window may be about to close.
You may see sacking Parkinson as acting decisively, others may see it as rash. It's a matter of opinion and interpretation. Only time will tell if Slater really is this saviour that you see him to be or a prize idiot as I suspect he may be.

Jimmy you have made so many suppositions there it's untrue.
You could just as easily say we will have a top new manager appointed by the end of the week, signed a few top class players by the month end & be absolutely flying going into February.
No, Covered, Parky was a football genius and despite failing to get us up last year with a squad that should have got automatic promotion and having us play football this season which would often have embarassed a pub team, we were nailed on for promotion until we got rid of him FACT.

But surely you can see that this is very unlikely. My supposition is that they don't have that much money based on the managers that we are targetting. By top new manager I assume that you mean someone like Martin O'Neill. Don't you think that we would have been interviewing people like that before Eddie Howe?
Top class players? Like who exactly?
I think that we are going to end up with a run of the mill manager and sign a few average 3rd division players. Isn't this how it is looking?
You accuse me of suppositions but you're making more than I.

Boo, hiss etc.
An amazing pub team that would have to be.
Please stop mocking my opinions and justify your own. Who do you think we could realistically be getting as manager bearing it mind that it will be someone with lower credentials than Eddie Howe, and why do you assess that person to be better than Parkinson? And stop saying 'fact' to non facts.
jimmy you may well be right, but the :- "By the time we get our new manager who incidentally is likely to be no better, maybe worse, than who we had before, we may have lost 2 or 3 more games, and the window may be about to close" - is a bit far fetched is it not.
I'm confident we will have a better manager than Parky ( whilst I agree we are not going to attract a Premier League manager, unless it's Curbs)
I have no reason to suppose we will lose our next 3 games. Well no more than we would have anyway under Parky.

"A squad that should have got us automatic promotion" - Really? That's a bit over the top.
No doubt we had a strong squad last season but by no means one that was nailed on for an automatic spot.
Leeds had Beckford and Becchio up front, Norwich had Holt and Martin whilst Millwal had Morison. All of those players cost way more than we could possibly afford.
Who did we have up front? Deon Burton. A decent player well past his prime and who has never been a prolific scorer anyway and we were only able to bring him in as he was on a freebie.
We had a strong squad but we did not have the funds that others had to strengthen key areas most notably up front where we had to try frees/loans like Mooney, Sodje and Forster to bridge the gap.
I judge Parkinson based on how he got the team playing football (or not) and our record against 'weaker' sides. We lucked our way to a decent league position as far as I can see it, with the odd good performance tucked in amongst some utter shite that had our crowds rapidly dwindling. It was so bad that many die hard lifers were considering just not going to the Valley any more due to the soul destroying, humiliating ritual that it had become. Things clearly were not working and we needed a change. Try going back to some of the threads from a few weeks ago and have a reality check. We could not afford to sack Parky before, but now it looks like we can, so we have. Best wishes to the bloke, but I am glad that he will now be taking his 'aimless punting up to the big man who isn't particularly suited for it' brand of football elsewhere because it was killing our club slowly by boring our supporters to death.
So on that basis there are quite a few managers 'with lower credentials than Eddie Howe' that I would have welcomed with open arms. Tisdale and Johnson to name but two. Of course, there is absolutely no guarantee that either would be succesful, as there is no guarantee that our next manager will be succesful, whoever they are. But I differ from you in that I think sticking with Parky would have been a good idea for the reasons above. He did well building the squad that he did on next to know cash, but can you name any player, with the possible exception of Jackson, who he has actually got the best out of? I really don't think that he was capable of doing so, so I want someone else to have a crack at it.
P.S I put FACT after my post because this is CL and that is what you do when you are being sarcastic. FACT.

This is not directed at the very few sensible members I have noticed on here.
I surely have the right to defend myself with some of the abuse thrown at me. even if my comment was for a reaction purpose.
I reacted to some of the insulting comments. Endured some the lowest form of wit by some pointing out written punctuality mistakes whilst they continued to make theirs.
So this is CharltonLife, Some of you don't even know the word. You join in and follow other members insults without even thinking. ''Your All so Very Bright,
Sorry but in my world, you try slap me I slap you back.
Sod it if this is the reaction you get on here, Then I meant what I said.
My Opinion, Michael Slater did not tell the truth in that interview. You have all seen it, Liar may be a bit harsh, but In my eyes it is a mistake to unsettle the side unless you have arranged a replacement within a suitable timescale.
Keith Peacock is not a manager and should not be put in charge for no more than 1 game which has now passed.
And yes Parkinson did know his fate beforehand that is fact.
Who the hell do some of you people think you are calling people mental, idiotic, trolls, or anything else, because you disagree with a comment. Even a joke is beyond some of you.

Absolutely Pathetic.
Back from the pub then, I think you need to lighten up. Did you not say about posters mum's and how they would know about whats in his pants. You reap what you sow, you aint been slapped so you dont need to slap you just need to be more approachable, and as for you meaning what you said, I still haven't worked out what it was you were saying.
