Just got back all really been said.
Keith and Damian obviously got the players to the right mindset in time, and we always attempted to play a passing game....indeed there was one sublime flowing attack (and other decent ones throughout) in the first half which ended with a shot on goal.
The players were teriffic overall, no non tryers, no moody b*stards, no nasty kicks or over reacting to fouls, and a goal would have been deserved...their keeper had to make a few decent saves.
Our support was positive and sustained, maybe the last 15 mins we waned, but apart from a couple of bursts from their support in the corner Tottenham made our home support against Barnet sound like the Ride of the Valkeries, very little atmosphere from them.
I don't know how much Modric cost them but he changed the game...however no shame at all, and a pretty good away day.
Great support, constant singing, and a typical underdog performance by us - but more than happy at HT.
First goal was a soft one to concede from such a long way out, and we didn't have a real chance to make it 1-1 - shame because we might have held out for a draw.
I doubt we would have seen such a good 45 mins with Parky at the helm, so it just shows that this group of players are able to compete at a higher level.
That's why we have to leave this sh***y division ASAP.
Did you notice the decent ref and top quality linesman (doing the side in front of us 2nd half) ? - don't get that in L1.
Decent performance, as good as could have been expected. Racon played well and Waggy put in a shift. We were a bit unfortunate not to get a goal too. Well done today lads.
As for the fans - I was sat in the Spurs end and could only hear one teams fans singing - good noise all the way through guys.
great fighting spirit by all the team and played some passing football i aint seen this season after going three down, think if elliot had saved that average shot we may have held on and got a draw, decent support as well all in all expecyed the loss so no real worry.
Disappointing result, but a good game none the less. Proud of the team and the way they played today. If we can keep playing like that for the rest of the season, there's no reason why we can't get promoted. Never felt so happy after a 3-0 defeat.
McCormack was excellent, and I felt was unlucky to be taken off. Waggy looked like he was up for having a go at assou ekotto most of the game, and Anyinsah did well up front on his own, made Dawson worry a few times. We were lacking a bit of support on the right hand side though, with both waggy and McCormack drifting into the centre. Racon and Semedo looked really comfortable when we got possession, an all round spirited display.
I have to say it seems improbable that Parkinson ever would have got them playing like that.
Well done Keith Peacock. I would guess J&S will have watched that and felt their decision to clean out Murray's entire coaching team was vindicated. There were players out there today like Wagstaff who seemed revitalised by not having PP/TB/MK on the touchline.
[cite]Posted By: Dazzler21[/cite]Guarantee if it had been parky at the helm and we lost the reaction would be very different. But I am glad that we played as well as we did. We were rocked after the first which from every text sounds like Elliott was too slow again!
That's because the performance would have been very different.
We looked very well organised in the first half and the entire team moved as one when defending. Had Wagstaff been played out on the right wing I think we may have tested them a bit more.
Good performance, very proud. If it wasn't for Modric and Defoe we could have taken them to a replay. They are both absolute class.
A good team effort all round, Jose outstanding, good support, spurs are a class outfit, no disgrace to lose today, we held them and more for 45 mins, we should now try to push on from this display to get up the league.
Thought we played ok for half hour in the first half then Modric and Defoe decided to take the piss.
Modric is absolutely superb.
Im sure if Parky had of been manager we would have lost 58-0 but it looked like a pretty routine win for Spurs, glad it wasnt a silly score.
Stewards were well OTT but standard big game rubbish atmosphere from us, bring on the loyal 500 at Sheff Wed and 1500 at Southampton over some of the plastics there today.
Very proud tonight and honoured that I was able to see Keith's one and only game in charge. Thanks ValiantPhil for the ticket. Hearing the crowd singing Keithie P's name bought a tear to my eye (he was my boyhood hero). We were well disiplined, organised and at times played some very good football, a vast difference from the last two games. It did expose where we are badly lacking, pace at the pack and upfront where Anyinsah did well but didn't look fit and neither did Sodje. Semedo proved that he would do a good job in the premiership and Reid was also very impressive and looked capable of playing at a higher level. Waggy started poorly but found his form as the game progressed. We can't afford two slow centrebacks and two slow fullbacks, we need to bring in some pace in defence.
Was happy with that performance. Anyansah was great up front on his own, Semedo and Racon were outstanding IMO. Thought Mac and Jackson were the biggest disappointments on the day. Shame we couldn't score a goal to give us something we deserved, great couple of saves from Cudicini. Sodje could hav had a hat trick when he came on with bit more composure and a football brain. All in all though was happy. However think tha whoever comes in as Manager has a lot of work to do. Not enough energy in midfield for my liking, like Gerrard and Lampard can Racon and Semedo play in the same team?
Such a great performance today from Charlton. Really proud! :-) Little bit annoyed at how the bbc's write up made it look like a very easy win for Tottenham....becuase it wasn't exactly like that!
To all the fans at the game. I was listening on the radio and I could hear you loud and clear,"Come on you reds". Made me fucking proud! Thank you and well done!
just how loud do you think it would have been at the valley had we still been in the prem and been drawn against a league 1 outfit??
Pin drop springs to mind.

have to agree with you Carly
obviously Spurs have bigger fish to fry these days so no surprise their fans were muted - get a ticket for their games at home to Utd a week today or Milan in the cup and I don't think you'll be able to hear a pin drop

I cant belive that i have read on here that the support was plastic and not very good
our support was excellent today the yids were as silent even at 3 up
We were quiet at home to Luton didnt stop them crowing about it

I agree with this one as well. We would have spun the repetitive bollocks songs (when pushed) and that would have been it.

Modric masterclass killed us.
Proud of the lads, time to push on in the league now.
ITS SO QUIET, ITS SO QUIET, ITS SO QUIET, AT THE LANE!

Great 1st half from us, great atmosphere from us. Spurs fans....ssshhhhh.
Quality from them in 1st 15 mins of second half although we were half a yard too far away from them during that period.
My son's first away game. He loved it... thanks to the singing. Lower tier rocked.
As for the fans - I was sat in the Spurs end and could only hear one teams fans singing - good noise all the way through guys.

Now let's sack Peacock and get Howe in !

We were battered first 15 mins of second half, but that was the only spell when you saw the massive gulf in class.
I thought Semedo and Racon were excellent in the centre of midfield - and we deserved a goal to be honest - Cudicini pulled off 3 or 4 saves.
More of the same in future please against the crap opposition we will be facing in coming weeks.
Modric is absolutely superb.

Do we still need the money?
