Was there a noticible change in style? If so well done to Keith and Damien for managing to do so in less than a week. That to me is far more important than the score.
I never expected to win this one obviously but I dearly hoped that we would give them a game and we did, Spurs have trashed many a Premier League side by more than that at WHL and to think that 'lil ol Charlton(tm) put in a better display than many prem sides and than when we were last there is brilliant, if we must lose then lose having given it everything and thats the way we did it. Well done to Keith, Damien and the boys. CAFC Pride alive and flourishing!!!!!
Shame on the BBC Ceefax saying Spurs strolled to an easy win!
Guarantee if it had been parky at the helm and we lost the reaction would be very different. But I am glad that we played as well as we did. We were rocked after the first which from every text sounds like Elliott was too slow again!
Looked a re-vitalised side to me. Played some nice football and had a few half decent chances. They definately looked better to me. At times the passing game was really flowing. Francis still the weak link with over hit crosses and poor pass choices. Got what I expected. Would have liked to have seen Sodje score at the end though.
I think everyone knew that this one was just a "day out" type game and our chances of winning were minor, if Parky had been in charge I would have expected exactly the same kind of performance and effort on the big stage as every lower league club should be raising their game against the so called big guns. I would imagine had he been in charge the players would definately have to have upped the game after the Swindon farce, they would have owed him that.
Keith and Damien deserve bags of credit for keeping their minds off the going's on at the club and keeping their minds on the game and delivering a decent performance.
We were fantastic first half. Very proud of the boys. All fell apart in the first 15 of second half but put in a decent performance after that. Racon was very impressive and Simon Francis suprised me a bit! (altough he could'nt put a decent cross in)

i dont think any error can be proportioned at elliot he done well today as did they all
the parky comment is well made, we would not have played like we did today under parkinson.
the football was as good as i have seen all season in that first half we played through spurs on more than one occasion with the finishing touches just not being there.
there was no hit and hope football and there in lies the differnce
top kudos to the boys who all came over and applauded us at the end
Jose Vitor Semedo has a special place in our hearts and we let him know before during and after and do you know what he loves us back and for me that made me start to think that good times could be back, i cant really remember a player look so touched at the way we sang for him
kissed the badge touched his his heart and he meant it
old fashioned day out great company great foorball banter
[cite]Posted By: pilchard[/cite]One day we will be back at WHL for a league game and normal service resumes!! Every journey starts with one step!!
i think you may be right there if we do i bet there wont be a sell out for tickets like this one but our support was top notch for the boys today absolutely brilliant
I was really happy to finish the first half even and allowed myself to dream of a replay at the Valley. Spurs had the quality in front of the net which we were lacking.
I was proud of our lads though - they upped their game for this - hopefully, they can take that form into the next league game.
Good day out, we played well but were undone when they showed their class for a short stint at the start of the second half. Vey different to the end of the first half were we looked like brazil, there was a spelll of play down the left where racon and jackson were simply destroying corluka.
pleased with the performance and well done the support. Was sitting on my hands in the Spurs end behind the goal and we outsang them for all but about 10 mins
Pride maintained with the exception of the mad 10 minutes at the start of the 2nd half when Modrix and Defoe tore us apart (they'll do the same to much better sides this season)
Reid looked sharp and if he'd started ahead of McCormack we may have created a bit more 1st half
thing that struck me most was how physically superior to us they were - bigger, stronger, quciker and fitter
with the exception of Modric all if them were 6ft plus and looked like athletes as opposed to our motley crew of OAPs, skinny boys and assorted others

Spurs turned it on for the goals then took their foot off.
Great effort more pride and Passion than I have seen for a while the system worked well especially in first half.
Damien matthews plays football on the deck and it shows that we can do it.
But spurs fans hang your heads it was so quiet at the lane
I can't stand people who blame the crowd.
;o)
We got beat and comfortably but there was a huge diffrence in style and effort
Shame on the BBC Ceefax saying Spurs strolled to an easy win!
COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Modric changed the game brilliant player. We did okay could've scored near the end.
Made me miss the premier league tbh Spurs players had alot more ability and quality.
I was proud of our lads though - they upped their game for this - hopefully, they can take that form into the next league game.
