i dont think he would be - obviously ex millwall which is shite but i think he might be a decent choice. managerial record is okay, probably got some good contacts with higher clubs should he want to bring in loans, and he wont accept half hearted performances especially from our centre midfield.
we could do a lot worse imo and not too much better.
I may be wrong but the only thing i can think of that he's actually been guilty of is whacking a taxi driver and lets face it, some of them deserve a whack (joke). People i know that have met him say he's a nice fella. Again, he's one of those that if there on your side (eg Bellamy, Dickov, Savage) you'll love him - if he's on the opposition you'll think he's an irritating cxxt. Its about time we had someone with a bit of bite if you ask me. And p.s - Ferguson has said that about at least a dozen people and lets face it, so could he and he aint a bad manager is he?

“My biggest disappointment was Dennis Wise, a director of football who was hardly seen at the ground, and who brought in players who were neither suitable, nor right, for Newcastle United.”
“I forgive most people, but I am not sure I can forgive Wise for what he did to my club.
Wise will hold fort then move upstairs when Poyet and Zola join up in summer is my guess. This is going to be big and no half hearted effort - i may be getting carried away but i can sense we are at the start of something very good here.
well, if "cheeky" Dennis gets the gig then i hope he can convince Ray Wilkins to be his assistant, think its more than a coincidence that chelsea have slumped since sacking him.
Because to my mind his track record doesn't suggest he's likely to take us any further forward than Parky would have. He's also unpopular with the fans so won't be given any time if results don't go well.
Blames other players, signs has beens or friends, tries to be the centre of attention, has a smarmy grin.
As a player he was very good for us at our level. As a manager he failed at the end of the day. Yes he was in charge of us when we reached the FA Cup Final, but we played teams we should be beating; he then blamed Harris in the final, waged a one man game against Keane & Scholes, picked his own son as the teams mascot and went out with one up front without an ounce of attacking spirit.
The team he left us with was playing awful football and was a woeful squad.
I really don't see him being the right man for you. He knows sod all about the lower leagues either.
1. If he was a good manager, bigger clubs than us would have wanted to hire him. Seen the queue?
2. Anyone who ignores bad references from Sir Bobby Robson is unwise.
3. this whole thing about him being a 'winner'. what's that about? That he starts fights? Tell me something guys,at least those of you old enough, when you wtched Curbs and Gritty as players, which of the two looked like the 'winner' the one who would sort things out in the dressing room, send out players who'd die for the shirt?
If they bring in Wise, all my previous positive comments about the new owners are null and void. However I don't think it will be, otherwise you wouldnt nominate temporary managers.Wise is unemployed and a mate of Jiminez. There'd be no meetings to set up.
He started well at Swindon and jumped ship after a few months as soon as Leeds came knocking.
He started ok at Leeds and left soon after Poyet moved on - again, didn't hang around long.
Went to Newcastle and upset everyone.
One-dimensional player with no track record.
Thanks for that, mate. Earlier today I was thinking that we should ask you.
Cardinal Sin
I don't think so. If they would even think of bringing in Wise as manager, it would show they don't give a flying fornication what we think. if on the other hand they bring him in as director of football with someone who already knows him, and accepts and understands his role, I'd be a bit more relaxed. Obviously Poyet fits that bill, but that isnt going to happen. Another good Chelsea guy who worked with him, that would be OK. Steve Clarke, or Wilkins. But I have no idea.

why would he in purely footballing terms only be a good choice?
we could do a lot worse imo and not too much better.
Being a cabbie, I 100% agree with you!

So has Billy Hills
Isn't that based on the number of punters placing bets rather than any factual information ....?
His Shit.
Wise Breaks Jaw of Sleeping Team Mate
Then sued them for £2.5 million when they were massively in debt, despite already having another job.
In pure footballing terms, he's not done as well without Poyet, so I'd worry he was the brains behind any success.

It's just the moral we have never done anything wrong bunch that moan about him as a bloke rather than focusing on his management of football teams.
