  • If this is true guess its why they 'had more desire than us' Parky! Please can someone let me know McCormack's Twitter name? Cheers
  • The Oxo Tower is nothing special, trust me.
  • I think it's a very bad idea for a pro football player to have a twitter account. Asking for trouble, he needs to use his loaf..
  • Thanks Chirpy, that's made me feel better
  • Thanks Colthe3rd

True. I took a girl up there last year (fnarr fnarr). She's having marriage problems and needed a bit of cheering up and I won a load of cash at poker, so 'treated' her. Over-expensive tosh. She was so hungry afterwards she told me she had a McDonald's on the way home!

I think Mr McCormack might be in for an uncomfortable few weeks at Charlton (if he ever plays for us again)

Fully expect the players to come off twitter, or at least openly, if fans are going to send them abuse and then we'll be complaining how remote players are from fans, well who can blame them. As for calling them c...s then really get a life.
  • I presume if he is drinking tonight they have no training tomorrow? I'd have thought Parky would have them in first thingy after today.

I ate there once with the wife, unfortunately we were seated on a table next to Graham Norton - who wanted everyone in the restaurant to know he was there & what a good time he was having. We've had some cracking celebrity dinner neighbours over the years including Norton, David Mellor and Jimmy Corkhill.

[cite]Posted By: Swisdom[/cite]Footballer in "having a life" shocker - so what if he's on the sauce. What's he supposed to do? Go home dress in black and declare he is in mourning?

Calling him all the names under the sun is just going to lead to all players getting banned from using it - and that would be a shame.

    Let it go

    With all respect, that's rubbish.

i agree with Swisdom. This thread is so negative, whats the point?

And you're saying this now, almost 24 hours after the thread was started and with the benefit of the knowledge that the manager has since been sacked. Wonder if you would've thought the same last night as comment after comment appeared on a public network about what a great time one of our players was having getting pissed after being part of one of the most abject performances in a long while whilst emotions were still very raw.

I make no apologies for starting the thread - none whatsoever.
  • Perhaps a little less eating and drinking might be in order Mr McCormack - and then you might have had the extra yard needed to get past the last defender on two occasions last night.

Did you hear about the Aldershot player that was booed off, he tweeted that he wished the booers would die!
    Nice fellow!

    What a D*ckhead!

    Are players really this thick?

Matches the charlton fan in front of me who wished that one of our players would die!! Its not just players who are pratts.
  • I agree Kap, think he sits in J block when he's here!
  • If you read Johnnie Jackson's Twitter feed you will see that it was McCormack's wedding anniversary on the 4th.

Better to go out on Monday night even after such a bad performance than a night before training.

I don't have a problem with him going out, just why does he feel the need to shout about it after what we all had to put up with seeing hours before? Not exactly great for the wife either I imagine, she's cutting into her steak and he stops to update his twitter page.
  • What a fuss over nothing, don't see what the problem is?

I know after a crap day at work I don't go home, get straight into bed and cry myself to sleep as punishment. So what if he mentioned it on twitter, he also said that he was devastated with the result and said it wasn't good enough.
  • He should have got on the sack cloth and ashes, ate gruel and should have tweeted that instead.

Amazing over reaction, my only problem is he went to Oxo, shite restaurant

It demonstrates to me an attitude problem that the team lost, but he didn't seem to care and was off to dinner with his wife it seemed from the tweet to be enjoying that a lot more. I'd have expected him to be a little more contrite given the result. Also it suggests that he didn't think about the consequences of sending a message that no doubt many fans would pick up either directly or indirectly. A bit like his passing, it didn't hit the right target.
  • I think amid the over-reaction we should be aware that the players will have had no xmas/new year with their partners/families, they trained on xmas day amongst other things. While I'm sure there'll be plenty of grumbling that they're paid enough to put up with that, but I imagine a lot of people who've spent the festive period in a whirl of alcohol and excess are outraged that a player had an anniversary dinner after a poor performance. Pathetic really. He should have been so upset that he gave the missus a right hander, cancelled the reservation and ate dry toast washed down with a bottle of piss.
