[cite]Posted By: nth london addick[/cite]I too have seen denis at the valley recently
but i was in conversation with someone yesterday who seemed to know more than me who stated that wise is not involved and i believe them
only time will tell.
for the record i dont care if wise is involved
So he likes the Valley so much that in recent weeks he can hardly stay away from the place. But he doesn't like us quite enough to get involved in the takeover?
The longer this goes on, the more I believe what I was told on day one - which is that Jiminez is involved.
Jiminez may well be giving assurances that Wise will not be immediately parachuted into a footballing role. But I've got this nagging feeling that he's going to be around somewhere...
And for the record, NLA, I share your lack of concern if Wise is involved. I've always found him amusing and irritating in equal measures. Most of our managers in recent years have been merely irritating (or worse). So I'd almost welcome him, I think. Football needs characters. And from his early days in the Plough lane crazy gang, Dennis Wise has certainly always been that...
He did get a third division team to a FA cup final. (cant remember the name)
Not saying I like Wise or would want him at Charlton, I'm just sure he knows a bit more about football than I do.
Like most I dont know who is part of the takeover consortium but who ever takes Charlton over is hardly likely to do it for financially gain.
So it would be my guess this Wise story is no more than that.
i think you could be right IA i think he has got some involvement somewhere
however ther way it was said to me yesterday was that he is not involved so i dont know what to believe or think thats why i am just waiting for the announcement.
i do find it strange that he would be there today
its not as if anything was open and if you were going to be doing secret talks you wouldnt do it at the valley surely
what a load of old bull the valley is hardly going to be bustling with activity on bank holiday monday is it? get a grip people, nothing was seen heard or done today
Most credible rumour so far is Alexander Knaster and his company Pamplona CApital Management. Seriously loaded but the company has a number of partners and may be buying as an investment for themselves or for a client who we will never get to know the identity of.
At the end of the day the facts are, Murray is prepared to sell to whomever they may be, and Reg is happy to front their bid, if whoever they are are good enough for those two, then they are good enough for me.

2nd time i hasve heards this company 2 different places
hmmmm
could there ber legs in it
also heard this a couple of times... the positive is that there is a bundle of money there ... negative is they are an investment company so they need a financial return and not particularly interested in the football ... however the positive from this is that if they make money then things should be going well on the pitch. And this company looks like it is good at making money.
The name Dennis Wise is appearing with increasing frequency in the media which makes me think he is definitely involved somehow.
The 64,000 dollar question for me is whether Varney is fronting the bid for the Wise consortium for positive reasons in that it is genuinely considered beneficial or negative reasons in that RM has come to the end of the financial road and the stark option is take this bid, good or bad, or else suffer administration and the potential negative consequences arising. In other words the "least worst option."

FACT.
A man rolling in his own vomit on a pub floor told me, it must be true.
Just in case anyone believes him.
And you give everyone a tenner if he's not?
I'll want in on this...
So they say on Wall Street. But does Anacott Steel love Phil Parkinson?
I was at the valley today using the cash machine and there wasn't a sinner to be seen.
Blimey, you must be getting the club cheap if you don't even need to write a cheque!!
There has to be a song in this somewhere ;0)
Yep what he said!

But where did those two sources hear? Off this site or from the horses mouth? Just asking...
Interesting that others have heard too. I am sure we will find out soon
