I think teens have been steadily getting worse since the 1950s, god knows what it'll be like in the future.
  • Parky is clueless in my opinion but i agree that chanting 'Parky your a c**t' is wrong. We will never get promoted with that team or with Parky in charge - that is my opinion but i agree - leave the booing til the end of the game. Roll on the 24th - just hope the new owners are serios enough to sort this whole sorry situation out because the football we have been dished up at home this year is appalling and could turn the most rational of people into a ranting moron. We all understand and have to be patient but the team really is crap and the centre of midfield is the worst bit and the reason we are so crap at home.
  • however we play as long as we go up im happy as larry, agree bexley that the football we play is shocking and it does not apply to every team in league whatsoever but im focused on results and as long as we keep grinding out results and go up everyone should see it as mission completed.
  • agreed Nolly but the problems with our home performances will only get worse as the season goes on and when your in a promotion run in, trying to break teams down at home and score goals is normally the difference between success and failiure and i can only see one outcome. If we could only sign 1 player (and i don't think it will take a lot more to go up), i'd go out and loan at least one quality central midfield player, preferably two. It'll cost, but it's a gamble that if not taken, will mean league 1 again next year.
  • gree about central midfielder soemone with a bit of steel --- a christian dailly of the midfild

The Orient Skipper Dawson fits the bill for this I think, impressed by him earlier in the season.
  • We love you Parky we do, we love you Parky we do, we love you Parky we do, oh Parky we love you! More of this please.

Watched John Eustace of Watford totally boss the game from midfield against QPR on Friday night - he's the sort of bloke we should have got when we first dropped out of the premiership and is the sort of bloke we need now - until the midfield is sorted out we're going nowhere and the fact Parky can't see it says it all. It's been obvious since the first game of the season.
  • Whose to say he can't see it? Someone of the required quality would only be available at a steep price, even if just on wages for a loan.
  • He assembled the squad and the 2 central midfield players for Walsall yesterday were far better players than Semedo, Racon or Macormack. Bet they aren't earning more than our guys.

Not in the 10 previous games they weren't!

    In one game.

Over the season Walsall are in the relegation zone for a reason, and we're in the automatic promotion places shake up for a reason.
  • but were not walsall are we .

we are near the top coz we can play on the break away and have ground out (painstakingly) points at home - it will not get us promoted as those ground out wins will stop but i can't see us suddenly becoming free scoring at home. Haven't checked the stats lately but aren't we the lowest scoring team at home - says it all. Bet even Walsall have scored more. Kid yourself all you like WSS but change the midfield and we stand a chance.
  • I'm not trying to kid myself about anything.

I personally don't think we can or will get automatically promoted but by the same token I can't think of anyone, who we can attract, who are better than Semedo and Racon. Most fans felt, that along with Dailly, these two were the most important players we needed to keep hold of.

And how you can infer that we don't stand a chance of going up with them in the team is frankly ludicrous. You don't go on a 11 match unbeaten run because of luck.
  • Semedo and Racon are good enough for this league. We dont play to their strengths, certainly in Racons case. Therry is a better player away from home because the games are more open and he sees more of the ball. At home we bypass our midfielder cos our back four a too reluctant to give a pass 10 yards forward....they rather pump it 60 in the air.

Having watched us huff and puff our way through half a season and having watched enough football in my forty years to recognise a promotion side is enough evidence i need and that is not ludicrous.
  • it was disgusting, i was up the top of H block! and J block started it with about 5O people. disgrace the man turnt the team around after brighton, sorry but every dog has it's day && we was rubbish! no heart in the game what so ever!
  • Since Brighton Racon and Semedo have been pretty much in top form, Racon has anyway. One bad game and now they are useless and we look at alternatives, reality is we are League One with League One players, hell even the likes of Essien, Gerrard and co have off games every now and then.

It's all well and good talking about replacing everyone when we lose 1 game, but then realistically who do you sign?

I do wonder if Soton/Sheff Wed etc boards are this bad when they lose a game.
  • Admitted, Racon and Semedo have been playing at the top of their games since Brighton and we still haven't managed to roll anybody over at home. For me, its been a problem since the start of the season and has never changed and won't change regardless of how well they personally play because they just don't have what is required. I'll leave it there - i'm boring myself.

  • Bexley Dan, you obviously didn't see the games at Swindon & Peterborough when Semedo & Racon were both suberb. As others have already said above, we have Division 3 players and we are playing in the 3rd Division. All players at this level are inconsistent; if they could turn in world class performances every week they wouldn't be playing for us. I though one of the key problems yesterday was actually Jackson. He normally tucks in and makes a 3rd body in central midfield when necessary. He didn't do that at all yesterday and he was hardly in the game as a result. He looked absolutely knackered to me. Maybe he had been celebrating his player of the month award rather too enthusiatically!! :-) LOL.
  • Pete, would you agree though that its not coincidence that both have their best games away from home. Our home style of football is toilet and doesnt suit either player.......who is responsible for that, the player or the coaching staff/management?...i agree that we cannot expect good performances from this level of player every week, but we dont even give our midfield a chance at home!
  • Flicking through this thread reading a lot of comments towards the north stand folk.
Obviously the chants are NOT on, but lets remember that stand holds thousands of fans don't generalise the whole stand based on 30-40 fans singing a silly song.
  • Im at university in Liverpool and admittedly i dont get to many games for obvious reasons. But however, I must say that for the games I have been to this season and last season in particular, I have noticed a small contingent of teenage, spotty little idiots who shout abuse at Parky for 90 minutes. However while they do shout this abuse, they do also seem to be the main choir that sing during our away games. This was the same group of idiots who at MK Dons away last season, started singing for Shelvey to come on, when we were 1-0 up and coasting when there was really no need for Jonjo to come on. But i bet any of you that this is the same group of mugs who were at home games last year, apparently shouting abuse at Jonjo! This is also the same group who at Stockport started calling for Parkys head when we were 2-0 up but under pressure.

The thing that bugs me is the fact that its probably one of you on here who is in that group slating Parky but you just wont have the bo**ocks to admit that its you!One of you youngens whose grammar is non existent! And yes im having a pop at you, because im frustrated and when you get frustrated you point the blame at particular people, like you do at Parky! All im asking for is that you stay at home, keep your stupid, immature, non thought-over comments to yourselves, and dont come back!
  • SE7 there is no reason to believe that anyone on CL is amongst the group, in fact given the level of intelligence of the spotty yoof displayed it is unlikely that they could string enough letters together to post on here.

Correct. The problem is the players know that at home there are fickle fans shouting abuse and moaning if one little thing goes wrong, which rightly so makes them very nervous.
  • You're as obsessed about the players being frightened by our crowd Jazzy as i am about our central midfield being the problem. Crowds reactions are natural and they tend to be a lot more tolerant with players they believe in in my opinion. Not that i condone the booing and groaning but its happened more ands more over the last 3 or 4 years because people are so fed up with the tripe on offer. Its a football match and for the crowd to sit in muted frustration for 90 minutes is unrealistic.
  • [cite]Posted By: Southendaddick[/cite]Covered end has become a bit of an embarrasment compared to previous years.

Gotta say I much prefered the single tier old stand and the lads that used to stand in F Block long before it became trendy to stand, at least there was a bit of original wit without having to resort to calling our manager a fanny..

Last 3 seasons, I miss the old covered end more with every game that goes past. Easy to say when we don't need the capacity anymore but the monstrosity that replaced it was good when full and in the Premiership glory years but now it's just a soulless, half empty hole. I now sit back down in my original seat at the back the E block and it's still good down there, we all stand and sing and shout but don't feel the need to get into the negative stuff.

but wouldn't our sensitive little lambs be more crushed playing away from home when all the away fans are giving them grief?
