[cite]Posted By: robroy[/cite]What annoys me are people like my mate who has not been to see a Charlton game since we were relegated from the prem and he has emailed me to say he has got a ticket. Its a shame that loyal fans will miss out. I class any season ticket holder that after last year signed up for another season as a loyal fan. I lost out on train ticket money last weekend and have to get a refund on my Rochdale ticket...that could have qualified me for today. However I have to wait to the next round. It is what it is at the end of the day.
I doubt we will get a result there and its just about the day out. I just hope that true supporters get tickets and not people from the prem years who don't go anymore.
Rochdale tickets count towards qualification.
To put this debate in a bit of perspective, we have sold 372 out of 4,200 tickets at 11.30am. That's the effect of the restrictions and the real issue is not with this phase at all, but the next one starting on Wednesday. We won't even make a decision on the criteria for that until Monday.

Thats intreasting i would i thought alot more than that already.
Does anyone know if the Valley Gold restriction of 1 adult and 1 junior ticket, is that on top of my own ticket or does the 1 adult count as mine plus 1 junior?
As I said yesterday why not reward those who attended the earlier CUP games home and away given that it is a CUP competition? Why should league away games be taken into consideration?
I can see ordinary season ticket holders, who as Large and NSS says make a financial sacrifice to benefit OUR CLUB rather than other clubs dotted round the country, missing out here.
I don't like to keep banging on about this but in a few months they will want our season ticket money and we will be emotionally blackmailed with the old bollocks about how we help to keep the Club going over the summer. Well if I can't get tickets for this match I will give serious consideration to not renewing frankly. Maybe our financial problems are in part down to the fact that we value fans who fill the coffers of other clubs more than those who support our own.
People will be surprised at how many tickets will remain. I was down the club just before 9.30. There was one window open and one bloke at the window and I walked straight to the front.
The restrictions for this phase are very very tight as Airman says.
Out of 4,200 you would've though at least 50% will be there for the next phase on Wednesday, as long as nobody buggers it up behind the scenes with the entitlements then there will be plenty.

The system would be fine if non-season ticket holders weren't getting priority over season ticket holders. Anyone with a season ticket this season is proper Charlton and will get a ticket if they want one.
I disagree with the way it's worked, it should be VIP, Season ticket & VG, Season ticket and X number of away games in Round 1 but that's just the way it is

Thanks for the confirmation ISLS. That's myself and my son sorted then, my mate can go and do one.
Len, you were worried you wouldn't get a ticket for Barnet but there were plenty spare. You seem to be constantly trying to justify why it is not worth having a season ticket.
If you ring early enough when available then you, and most others who want, will get tickets.
As Airman say most of those who go away a lot will also be ST holders and many will also be VG. many will be VG precisely because they go away a lot and want priority. That only 3 -400 tickets have gone so far is proof out that.
It is frustrating waiting to buy but the alternative is a free for all ala Swindon Away which is both unfair and chaotic.
There is plenty of buying time before 9 Jan (A whole month in fact minus some Xmas closures) so it's right to stagger the sales even if that leaves a few people nervously waiting. Better than that angrily berating the staff and Club for messing it up.
Anyway when the new owners takeover, buy all the best players in the world and move the club to .... Oops nearly said which country then.... we will be on TV every week and no one will need tickets home or away. CAFC player will cost £5,000 a season though : - )
out of interest the vip holders in the first section of sales is that the valley investment plan holders who contributed back in 92 ensuring the was a club for CAFCANDY to follow away in 2010, if it is I'm in.I always thought that whoever contributed back in 92 should always be recognised to the exsistance of CHARLTON ATHLETIC F.C..
I will be with the general sale mob. I don't see why I won't get a ticket tbh.
My 2 boys stayed awake upstairs listening to me swearing at the TV all night and both knew we'd won 3-1this morning, even though they were meant to be asleep!
This could be a real chance to really hook em in as proper supporters....they can actually go into school today and give it!
[cite]Posted By: Rudders22[/cite]not sure if this has been asnwered before? Does anyone have an idea on how much money Charlton are likely to get for the Spurs game financialy? Thanks
len,
seeing as the gate money for cup competitions is split equally between home and away clubs, the fans that go away are putting money into our club. the same way that by attending home cup ties, you put money into visiting teams coffers.

Thought somebody banded about something like £300,000

Capacity is 36,310
Tickets £20/10
So say the adult/concession split is about 70/30 then that works out to over £600,000 for the total gate. So roughly £250,000-325,000 if it sells out.

like JT went to loads of away games last year but none this year cos of other commintments. However can defo take it on the chin how the club have done this....people that have spent loads of cash goin away games this season deserve the treat of first dibs on a big game like this. fingers crossed i can get a ticket when the restrictions are lowered.

Any system the club does is going to upset someone in times like this.

I think that everyone should be able to get their hands on tickets. There were only 8k at the Luton home game- 3k of which were Luton?
surely 1 per ST
Robroy - how has someone who's not been to a game since the prem days got a ticket already ?
