Actually. My mates a cabbie and Phil Babb told him weeks ago that Russians were looking to buy Charlton. Posted it on one of the takeover threads I think so just perhaps there is some milage in this one.
I've been away since this was announced and when i left, this thread had only just started. The first thing i done when i got through the door was boot up my pc to read this..........and i must say i haven't been let down. Reading all these posts have been the most entertaining 90mins i've had regarding charlton in quite a while. It's like listening to my kids wondering what presents they're getting for xmas and every guess is more extravagant than the last. (it would probably be cheaper for me to buy the club than what they're guessing at).
Regarding the new owners, i think i'll stick to my pessimistic ways. When someone tells me they're going to give me some money, i always assume it's a penny, anything else is a bonus.
Interesting, Very Interesting - was that not what Barry Davies said about Francis Lee's goal many years ago? Barry's son is MD of Betfair and Franny has a few bob.
We've been bought by Liverpool FC as a feeder club. They will work assiduously to keep us in League One as a provider of young talent and somewhere to send their crocks "on loan" for rehabilitation.
Oh, shivers down my spine.
OK how about this. We've been bought by Cameron MacKintosh who wants to turn the Valley into the "Valley of Dreams" with all players being smartly turned out and kicking in unison.
Depends if you know Off It's Uncle John and Aunty Beryl, who told him yesterday they are expecting their first grandchild.
He didn't say his interesting news was related to Charlton !
As an aside, i should have collared Keith Peacock in Bexleyheath Shopping Centre on Saturday (wearing ski glasses indoors Keith is very celebrity) or Peter Varney at the Bromley Glades yesterday, but didn't feel comfortable approaching either while they were out with their families (plus i was feeding a baby in the latters case).
As you can see, i had a very exciting weekend......

Can't wait for the next thousand posts.
When the Russians take over, those who don't sing will all be sent to the gulag , anyway, so we won't have to worry about that anymore.
Share it dammit - it'll get lost in with all the waffle in here anyway
Previously, you said it was VERY interesting. Now it's just interesting. Make your mind up. I've heard that it's VERY VERY interesting.
on a scale of 1-10 how interesting is it??
