  • Zheng Zhi - think of all the tracksuits with his name on, that we could sell in China....
  • MORPH could give a better teamtalk than PP:

    Ba-bah-baba-ba-ba-ba-bah!
  • Steve Clarke is a very good shout imo
  • Souza has got a good record at Qpr, Swansea, didnt get a fair chance at lecicester, big name would get the crowds back and could see him actually wanting the job
  • Robbie Mugabes red and white army!!
  • I didn't think anyone could give a football reason for Parkinson staying
  • Paolo Sousa for me. Played at the highest levels, will be respected by the players for his achievements you would hope.

I would love to see him given a chance here.

Yeah agree with Sousa, with Chris Powell as coach. Think he is the manager that most would be happy with, not everyones first choice but:

Did ok at QPR, victim of poor ownership
    Did very well at Swansea
No way given enough time at Leicester
    Plays good football
Well respected, could attract some better players than other managers could.
  • Steve Clarke is going to be the new hibs boss

Good shout. He hasn't lost for about 35 years has he?

That is actually quite catchy! Not sure Mugabe would want to be associated with a (red and) white army though, heard he's touchy about that.

Dammit, my first choice out of the running straight away!

Steve Clarke's a decent shout, and Sousa. Rate Martin Allen myself but can understand other's reservations. All other names listed would fall under into the "better the devil you know than the serial failure/too much of a gamble/ex-Palace you don't.

Chris Powell I would welcome with open arms but he's done nothing to suggest he's manager material and I would hate to see a true legend tarnish his reputation. It pains me to see people saying Kinsella should follow Parky out, however justified it might be.
  • Mugabe needs stronger political views to be our manager.
  • Gordon Strachan will probably be gone from Boro in about 10 minutes...

    You mean Colin Calderwood?
  • [cite]Posted By: JT[/cite]Steve Clarke is going to be the new hibs boss

Colin Calderwood set to be new Hibs boss I think. Steve Clarke a very good shout for us. I'd be happy with him or Sousa.
  • If you want pure football then Hoddle has the credentials, whether we have the players to actually keep the ball on the floor is another matter.

If you want someone to kick arse and shake this place up and who has a winning mentality at all costs then Wise has a proven track record.

People will moan about people like Wise for non footballing reasons but stuff all this moral high ground get a manager who is not going to be Mr nice guy the clubs future is at stake.

If Parky goes there needs to be a clean break and a complete new regime.
  • The more I read this thread the more I think Parky should stay, unless Curbs came back.

Sousa - where did he get QPR last season ?

Hoddle - not quite the full ticket

Blackwell - what has he achieved ? Etc etc.

How about Eddie Howe ? But he's only ever managed at his club Bournemouth.
  • Sousa - Impossible to judge his job at QPR as they used to be Real Madrid-lite. Had one good job and one poor job since but if he got us playing decent football I'd like it. Leicester seem to have an odd situation as well to be fair to him.
Southgate - Well his last appointment was when he was in the Premiership and he has a decent job with the media so I have no idea how much he'd expect to be paid, but I'd certainly want to rush straight back into management if I was working alongside Adrian Chiles. Certainly think Boro would be doing better had they kept him anyway.

After those 2 I'd take a gamble on a Di Canio or Powell, both would really get everyone excited and they'd definitely want to play football the right way.
  • [cite]Posted By: I-SAW-POUSO-PLAY[/cite]Mark Bowen?

    he's said he'll never be a number 1

  • Sousa
    Steve Clark
    Phil Brown
    Hoddle
  • For me...

Curbs until the end of the season. Then we get someone in.
  • Read Derek Hales' column in the programme last night. He talks a lot of sense, and he knows the club through and through.

    How about it??

(At least as sensible an idea as some on here...)

Exactly. That is an absolutely ridiculous idea, but so much more appealing than Wise, Blackwell, Phil Brown, Coleman, Hoddle, Southgate and others.

Get him in, he'd need to grow the beard back though.
  • with all the 'He wouldn't be good enough ' 'too much of a risk' 'his record is crap' that people say to dismiss certain suggestions
every manager is a gamble lennie and curbs would have been considered too inexperienced at this level etc when they came in and pardew would have been considered to have a decent cv for the job so it's all a massive gamble and atm parky has been given a lot more time and patience than iain dowie got!
  • all i ask is we don't get another manager who has done well briefly in a (first) job. give me somebody who has proven he can build a side, correct it when it goes wrong etc etc. that's the test of a good manager - the likes of Curbishley and Ferguson could identify the problems and address them. Can't see that any of our last 3 managers have ever done that anywhere. Started going wrong, shown the door.
  • Steve Clarke was 1/6 to be new Hibs boss a few days ago, obviously couldn't agree on something in the end.
  • bexley dan on your remit curbs would never have got the charlton job ...

And still 2 days after i asked those saying that, have failed to come up with any reasoned argument as to what in footballing terms PP has bought to our club and anything they have seen this season to give hope.

    all we have is

    "he is a nice guy"

    "he is trying his best"

"best wishes of the club at heart"

"we cant afford to get rid"

Not one comment about his footballing brain, his team set up his ability to coach and influence things on a pitch

laughable really and says it all there is no good footballing reason to keep him at the club.

against Leyton Orient his treatment of Solly put pressure on Francis and Solly

He chased Benson madly yet didnt change the way we play to accomodate.

He let Randy go without a fight Big mistake IMO

Randy proved that he was number 1 Robbie should have been number 2

Piss poor mgmt and miss use of Shelvey
  • agreed nla but he learnt something from pardew .... the PR charm !
