Boring. One shot, one goal. No creativity or desire. Again. So frustrating as well as this league is crap and all of the results are strange.

  • I am furious with this result!!! Things so badly need to change if we have ANY chance of going up (which we WONT)! TOTAL BS!
  • not surprised we have been shite all season,we got so lucky tuesday, we dont have a forward at the club and when you see parky signing abbott and benson when players like alexander were available beggars belief, what a mug
  • alexander has something about him, lively and robust when he plays.....not charlton type
  • Squad is not good enough and cannot string a run of results together. With no money we can't strengthen so to me we have got to bring in someone else who can try and get this team motivated which judging by todays performance they dont seem to be.

I didnt have a great dislike against Parkinson (i wanted to give him time and that) but NOW after seeing these games and what not, its making me really dislike him, We cant beat teams like Brentford, Dag&Red, Exeter etc we are heading got a bottom 15 finish!
  • you wait till akpo and benno get there scoring boots on..............
  • We must, absolutely, give Parkinson until xmas. That way, when we are absolutely sure that we aren't going to get promoted, we can then get someone in who can use the rest of the season to get the squad in shape, teach them to look like they give a shit, and offer invaluable team building lessons in basket weaving etc.

Next year we'll give it a real good go - if we still have a club left, that is.

    No rush!
  • Us being 1 point off the play-offs shows just how dreadful the division is.
  • Unacceptable performance. First half, none of them want to know. Second half was an improvement but not that hard over that garbage first half. Reid and Abbott the only ones to come out that with any credit.

But we cant afford to stay in this division.
One more season could be fatal.

  • Wasnt there so not gonna judge or comment on performances, we've been horrific away from home for, well ever, well since the turn of the century atleast.

Thats being said I expected more, ok only a point but I expected a point none the less
  • I don’t want to be too provocative or controversial, but I do not think that the issue is a lack of desire or even a relative [compared to other sides in the League] weakness upfront. The real problem, IMHO, is with the side’s complete inability to pass the ball and retain possession; we’ve been out passed in almost every match this season, including in most of those we’ve won. The consequence, of course, is that the strikers and wide players rarely get the ball in positions from which they can threaten [or at least not enough], whilst the opposition is able to develop momentum and confidence as result of having lots of the ball.

This problem isn’t new. It was the same last season, but last season, in Lloyd Sam and Jonjo Shelvey, when he played, there was some real quality in the side and this, combined with Nicky Bailey’s energy and uncanny knack for nicking a goal, often won points that weren’t merited on the balance of play. The underlying weakness has now been cruelly exposed.

The central midfield is poor. I know that Jose Semedo is a fan’s favourite, but he is so ponderous and limited in possession that he always slows things down and often puts his team mates under pressure. This is major offset to his tremendous drive and work rate, but is rendered far worse by Racon’s complete lack of intelligence. Racon has genuine ability, unlike Semedo, but he plays with his head down and seems to completely lack awareness of space and of which runs to make. Playing with these two, together in midfield places a tremendous burden on others and requires the side to play at a very high tempo to hide their lack of quality.

The season is going to be a long, hard struggle unless Parky can find a solution to this problem. Perhaps he hasn’t started well, but McCormack has to be given a run when fit instead of either Racon or Semedo. I know that will be controversial. And there is probably a continuing role for Jackson in midfield too.

Phil Parkinson may have done well with his summer signings and the Chairman may believe that he is a very good manager, but he simply hasn’t addressed last season’s most pressing problem. I’m a fan of his, but right now the Manager is obviously not covering himself in glory.

    Leave it out.
We are in this division for a reason, and it's not just because of one person (before you go there) it's plainly and simply coz we're shite
  • WHAT THE FECK DO WE DO ON THE TRAINING GROUND DURING THE WEEK BECAUSE THERE IS NO SIGN OF IMPROVEMENT, I FIND THAT VERY WORRYING AND DAMNING OF OUR MANAGER AND COACHES

The Semedo comment aside this is a pretty accurate summary.
  • Just a quick point to the posters who want Parkinson out. I don't rate him personally and I'm not that clued up on the football/club situations these days etc. However, have people not clocked that in our current financial situation it is not viable to get rid of him. If the club's position is as bad as people are saying surely we cannot afford to pay his contract out? Then there is the other issue that very few potential managers would be interested in the position as the club has f*ck all funding?
  • I dont think you need to be at EVERY game to see when we are playing well or not playing well. I didnt go to any of Barcelonas fixtures last season but i can make an educated guess that they did ok.

From what i have seen of us this year there i think it is fairly right to say that losing to Brentford today is probably more than just bad luck. Didnt go but didnt sound like we were at the races?
  • Agree with everything said. Let's be honest, we're in this division for a bloody long old time to come. Parkinson is a League One coach, don't be suprised when he turns out a League One side.

I agree we ARE shite. Who's to blame for that , the tea lady ?

Actually, although I have always been a big Semedo fan, I think that the comments about him is probably about right too - this season at least.

Good post Mundell - I agree that our ball retention and basic passing just hasn't been up to it. I see that you don't post too often, but with sense like that I think you should more!

  • Mundell Fleming - at long last someone who has summed it up as it is. I cannot agree about Sam, but the best summing up of the team nd our current position I have seen.
In fact, I wish I had written it.

Remarkably similiar things were said when Pardew was ruining our CC Chances too.....

Chairman has said we cant afford to stay in this league another season, so whats the lesser of the two evils? We took the right decision to get rid of Pardew far too late when the writing had been on the wall the previous season...we didnt clear the decks and we possibly didnt chose the next manager wisely and it certainly wasnt based up results as Mr Chappell had suggested, so, the cycle begins again.....will we get it right this time around?
  • Fairplay as I said, I'm out the loop these days on a lot of what is going on at CAFC.

Any idea roughly what his contract etc is, i.e size, length etc and what would be the likely level of money needed if the Board did decide they wanted to get rid of him?
  • We offered absolutely nothing today.

    No-one played well.
  • Left with 20 minutes left to go, just got back to Crawley livid and thoroughly depressed. The first half was an absolute disgrace against a team that were near the bottom of the league. Fed up with Charlton and fed up with the p*ss poor excuses.
  • Didn't go today and not that sorry about it. Agree with Mundell Fleming but if the midfield problem is so obvious to most people on this forum why is it so tricky for Parky to get his head around it?
Not surprised we lost but very surprised that we conceded 2. The only positive (apart from the goal) for me at the MKD game was the defence with Fortune back. Just looked solid.
    What happened today defensively?
At least Waggy keeps scoring. Put him up front with Tuna (if he is not aleady out on loan) or Akpo.
Even Parky will soon have to give up on Abbott and Costello.

Contract runs out at the end of the season I think.
  • What utter tosh .... Another completely inept performance by the biggest joke of a football club around .......
It is blind loyalty that makes us fans turn up and watch that chaff .....
    And its an addiction
We all need help and so does that twunt parky ......

40% play offs 59.5% another season of apologys 0.5% the unthinkable

Anyone else coming to mk dons ?

Where's the men in white coats ......
  • I still maintain that PP should be getting more out of this squad than we are currently seeing. Virtually 25%of the season now gone and we are looking like a very poor team. One person to blame. Now firmly in the Parkinson out camp.
