The Bauza thing seems strange ...... the player looked the part as a creative player, also with goals in his locker.
And with sufficient League experience.
Strange that he's been here a whole month ....... that's a long time to work with a player and not take him on.
So are we talking about Bauza lacking ability? ........Absolutely not. Is there a role for him in the squad? .... Apparently so. Medical problem?.......Not apparent in his performances. Wages? .......Ah, now that could be a sticking point. Attitude/relationships? .....Only an insider would know that.
If Bauza is not taken on, then there must be a reason other than the player's ability
Perhaps Bauza was always second choice to Abbott and once Murray provided the funds Parky got his first choice - I suspect they are still trying to tie up a deal for another striker - goal poacher to play alongside Abbott
I can only think that he has a big name up his sleeve, and has been after him for a while. With the Bailey "will he, won't he" deal, I wondered whether the delay was due to an attempt to get Lita as part of the transfer. Fingers crossed on this one, because I'd say even if we lined up with last year's 4-5-1 that three strikers isn't enough. Perhaps we'll reinforce in January or get a loan in later.
I thought it was pretty pointless to get two trialists in last night but only give them 10-15 minutes. Also disappointing that Tuna/Perkins have been poor and that Mulley looks to be out the door. Step up Popo.
What EK says makes sense. He might have been a backup plan, as he plays a similar role to Pauwell.
Puts him in a tough place, trying to get employment before the season starts though. When people are banging on about multi-millionaire players they forget about this harsh aspect of the game.

As a free agent he's not tied to the transfer window deadline though - he can still sign permanently for a club outside the window and, whilst we may have possibly been stringing him along a bit, he's effectively done a full pre-season with us, including plenty of match practise so he should be ready to play from day one for whoever he eventually signs for (unlike Francis for example).
I would imagine we've at least been covering his expenses while he's been with us too.

Even if Parky was trying, there is no way Lita would drop down to league one. There would be a whole host of championship clubs in for him.
On the Bauza issue, would not be surprised if there are concerns over his fitness and the risk of injuries. Only because he has had a nasty long term injury in the last couple of years and Parky will surely not want another Leon. The guy has quality so it is either this, wages or the optimist in me is saying maybe we have lined up someone better.
Doors not closed on this guy, his head does not appear right at the moment, been truly awful in training last couple of weeks, they have told him he can come back anytime he wants, sounds like he was trying too hard in training & making things worse.

Thanks for the inside news, Ketters.
Maybe being a player out of work has made him too anxious to get a contract, and desperation has set in?
Sounds like a player who needs an arm round his shoulders, rather than a kick up the backside.
[cite]Posted By: Scoham[/cite]Someone on the mailing list said Bauza is going to sign for Newport County (Blue Square Prem), and they want Trundle as well.
Well, if that was to be the case ...... then it won't be wanting too much in wages that has prevented him getting a contract at Charlton.

Trundle has already signed weeks ago for a team in the League of Wales.
In our last reserve game we did have a trialist upfront but I doubt it was him as he was under contract at Hereford at the time. You never know though.. I'd have him here, thought he was a good player when we had him in pre-season.
True Swisdom but then we have Anyinsah. Eccleston and Sodje who are all mobile and has pace. If Abbot goes it looks like we'll be playing attractive football, which is what Powell has spoken about. I remember Sodje and Bauza playing and linking up really well in pre-season. I'd perfer a strikefore with Bauza in it than Abbott, no offence to Pawel but his not mobile, he has no pace and Bauza has a better touch and creativity than him. Who knows who we'll sign, only Slater and Powell knows the targets we'll just have to wait and see..
Thought he was one of the worse players I had ever seen when he played against Barnet in a pre seasonl, looking at his goal scoring record, I think were better off without him.
I thought the takeover, in addition to giving us much needed stability, was also to take us to a different level so that we could look at a better quality of player than we had been looking at or who are in the current squad, if this is true it looks more like same old, same old. Distinctly unimpressed.

Creative players tend to be the sensitive ones.

Nice touch admittedly but would like to think we will be employing a little more pace than he had
