GUILLEM BAUZA

edited July 2010 in General Charlton
I take it that this is the same guy who played at Wimbledon-

From Swansea fan comments concerning his release from their club:

Bussy has enormous potential as an attacking midfielder. He loves the city and the club and is hugely popular in the dressing room.

Injuries limited his appearances and all he needed was game time to sharpen up to match fitness.

I believe his salary is modest compared to some and I wait with some interest to see the dross that Sousa is going to hang on to.

In my opinion, Sousa has already committed his first major gaffe for next season. Good luck wherever you go, Bussy. I hope they deserve you. Our lot don't.

---

Another mistake you made again like the players you beening picking all season. One of the best players we had.

---

Tough call, Sousa, and one I think you got it wrong.

Sousa's just been appointed the new manager of Leicester City, so I don't suppose he cares.

Seemed to be very popular with Swansea fans, most of whom appreciated his link up play and flair.
  • From what has been said on here by those addicks that attended the match and by what the Swansea fans have said I like the sound of this bloke. Lets hope we don`t dawdle for too long and snap him up before someone else gets interested.
  • Sounds good to me!
  • Would like him to play against Welling but I think there's definitely a useful player there, perhaps as a replacement for Burton rather than an out and out goalscorer though. Was the best performance of all trialists, others ranged from poor to nothing more than ok.

i've been reading swansea fans' opinions of him and most of them say they he was a good player and were surprised he was released. however there were also a lot of comments about his injury proneness.
  • From his wiki page:

Outside of football Bussy is a qualified teacher who could speak almost fluent English before he arrived in Wales. Bussy is also currently studying for a genetics degree in Swansea University, with the view to perhaps becoming a doctor after his playing days are over.
  • Bauza is obvoiusly a quality player who'd be a great signing and I'd love to see him, Racon and Semedo playing little short passing and moving in the midfield.
  • He stood out at Kingsmeadow for numerous reasons; skill, strenth, and above all the fact that he appeared to treat the opportunity more than most as a chance to show what he could offer - strange how some traialists (not just with us) appear just to go through the motions. Crazy to judge too much on 45 mins but he did really well. Although they got in down his side for the second goal, I thought the right back from Hayes did ok in the second half too.

My spies at the game said he played with vision and footballing intelligence, and a very decent 1st touch and turn.

From what BFR posted above, it seems he is one of the rare breed of footballers that has an intelligence to use his spare time in improving himself intellectually.

He did, would get the ball and turn or run with it, and usually get it out wide and into space. Think it was him that put Thor through. Like I said before, possbly a replacement for Burton, as a regular goalscorer maybe not but half a game isn't enough to judge. From his record in League One with Swansea you'd think he'd get a few goals.

"Could almost speak fluent English before he arrived in Wales."

    How would they know?
  • He looked ok - better than everything else around him, but we were playing against AFC Wimbledon everybody!
  • He'd fit the JonJo role from last year but I'm not sure how he'd fit into a 4-4-2, particularly if we are buy a big target man. You can imagine him threading a pass through to a clever player like Thorvalsson or a quickie (Leon Knight?) and creating a few chances for himself, but he doesn't seem the type of player who will get on the end of crosses. Perhaps we could risk a 4-3-1-2 but again it needs two forwards with good movement. Personally I'd love him to sign and hope we'd see some passing football again.

    Elliot
    Mulley Doherty Llera Youga
    Racon Semedo Jackson
    Bauza
    Knight/Eastwood/ANO Thorvalsson

Subs Gough Solly Basey Dailly Sodje McCormack YM/CJ
  • Why are people mentioning Leon Knight as a possible signing?
    Has it been 'rumoured' elsewhere?

He is poor, even for our financially troubled club.

Bauza used to played U17 and U19 for Spain alongside Torres so we just need to sign Fernando from Liverpool and we're set.

    Alternatively Akpo will do.
  • Spoke to a couple of Swansea fans and this was what they said

"Good player for league 1/2, really nice guy...

Plays as a deep forward \ attacking mid good touch & movement, needs a run of games, would have liked to see him stay as he would be a good squad player..

Currently studying some form of medical genetics to become a doctor whilst playing

Though unless he can surf the Thames i thought he would have gone for a coastal town, loves his surfing & skateboarding.. "

    and also

"He wont unlock defenses as such, just has a habit of being in the right place at the right time.. ( As long as he isnt offside ).

If you play 1 up front, he will sit in the hole nicely, think Yeovil were in for him aswell, as he is mates with Darren Way.."

So i think we should sign him up quickly!

Looked shit in the WC. I'd stick with Accers. He'll come good.
  • Few stats on Knight:

Played 15 games for three different clubs in the last year and not scored once.

One of those teams, Scottish First Division Queen of the South, released him at the end of last season.

    Perhaps leave this one, eh?
  • Knights had a lot of clubs for a reason, avoid. We've signed players like him before, they stay for a while, do nothing, then someone else takes a chance on them. Marcus Bent another example.
  • would love to see him at the club and he should fit in well next to are League One equivalent of Drogba

Knight must be avoided, he was part of the up and comming crew at chelsea if memory serves me right 3 years later he was realesed from hereford. Real touch of the chris dicksons with this lad still thinks he's a prem league player. Having said that if and if that's a massive if parky is the man to knuckle him down he could have the potential to get back to the promise he had some 5 years ago. Another kid who belived the hype and went to his head without bothering to do it on the pitch.
14 clubs for a 27 year old is frighting, also google him and time and time again the phrase attidude problem pops up, mainly at brighton where he was adored by the fans 30 goals in 100 games.
  • didnt Leon Knight have a barney with the manager at one club and got chucked off the team bus after a game?
  • Leon Knight did score a winner for Brighton in a play off final but seemed to fall off the radar very quickly and as said above is very much in the Marcus Bent mould. Relying on a couple of decent spells when he was younger but not a Parky type player in any way.

I know a player that a brighton he had a set to with and said all manner of things about how he was going to get him back but never materialised. He didnt play many games after that and he did not come out on top according to folk law

I think the manager was Mark Maghee. This Knight sounds like a right little turd.
  • Liking the sound of this Bauza guy not often you have someone on trial who a fans of a team in the above rate.
  • [cite]Posted By: harveys gardener[/cite]He'd fit the JonJo role from last year
    On the bench then?
  • looks like this fella can play a bit ok it is only against welling but he actually looks technically good id take a gamble on him but he looks like somebody who would supply the chances for a half decent striker if we could get one personally id sign him.
  • certain to get a deal.
  • Highly surprised & delighted at his performance - comfortable on the ball - turned and ran with it, before a sensible lay off.

No reason why we shouldn't sign him up - doubt if there is better out there & certainly a lot worse if we miss out on him.
