If we do not get Bauza tied up, could regret it especially with only one fit senior striker on our books. McLeod must still be injured regardless of whether Parky sees him as part of his plans.

    We need a goalscorer though?

He impressed me and so did the Sheff Wed winger.

Bauza looks like he can link play well not sure him and Akpo is a strike force which will score many between them though.

I like the look of both Bauza and esajas let's hope we get both of them to sign.

Bauza is a mobile Todorov I think

Esajas is a fast Ricky otto

Both definitely worth another look but I wouldn't waste too much time and would offer Bauza right away

Class act, sign him up... cross between deon and toddy, with a hint of dicanio

Looked quite good again, could be the right replacement for Burton. Just how well he'd do it's too early to say, but as other said looks intelligent and comfortable on the ball, bit like Todorov as Swisdom said.
  • Bauza looks good to me and I concur with other people above about signing him up. Esajas I am not convinced - would rather Reid but don't know how realistic that is.
  • I didn't go to the Welling game but I'm pleased Bauza continued his good performance from Saturday when he was the liveliest player on the pitch. Hopefully he'll keep up his work rate and we'll sign him.

We do, but unless we also have players capable of giving that goalscorer decent service he won't score goals for us. Sounds Like Bauza would fit that role well.

Were him and Racon on the pitch together - would be interested to hear if they looked on each other's wave length?

They were but Racon played deeper most of the time and Bauza slightly further forward than on Saturday so no chance really for them to gel. Bauza did well again though; he has considerable strength to go with his obvious skill.

Not sure if it was mentioned here but he did play against us in the opening game 2 years ago
    Report
"Players to watch included Spanish striker Guillem Bauza, expected to start on his own up front, and much-talked about Dutchman Ferrie Bodde."
Also sounds like he had a couple of chances, don't really remember him myself.

Back then under Martinez, Swansea played a very neat attacking passing game in a 4-5-1, with Bauza playing the lone striker role.

They totally dominated midfield, but we nicked the game with early and late set piece goals.

Could be a more effective getaway driver?

Good point - Swansea did move it really nicely that day but worryingly they didn't appear to carry much of a goal threat. Oh well, can't have everything!

    Sounds ideal for us

Swansea did finish above us in the league table though!

Haven't seen him in action for us yet but he looks like a Spanish George Best from the pictures on the Welling site.

Very slight build which might be a problem in League 1. That said, if he's a clever footballer then he should overcome the physical stuff. Macca can kick people while SGB waltzes through to pass into the net.

    Henry

He also played alongside Samuel Eto,o at Real Majorca so perhaps we should sign him as well .

Not slight - he's actually pretty sturdy

If money was the problem with the trialists then why trial them in the first place? Just wastes everyones time. They should ask the players what sort of salary they are looking for, then if they are within our budget or just slightly over see if they are worth it. Otherwise there is no point.

We might as well have had Thierry Henry on trial and he shined for us but whats the point if we could never afford him anyway.

How longs it going to be before we sign this guy, I think we have seen enough to know he will shine at this level. If not someone else is gonna come along and steal him.

think it's just a case of agreeing terms. negotiations can take time. his agent probably started off demanding £1m a minute, image rights, the best parking space, a locker made of gold and the east stand named after him... then its a case of getting it down to something anyone is happy with.
i hope we do sign, he would be a very useful addition to the squad.

    Shush..no-one tell Pardew!
  • I imagine negotiations with a trialist must be quite tough. He’s obviously a good player, at a good age, who I imagine speaks the language and knows the league.

However, he has had injury problems, which is why I imagine he is on a free and on trial, he also doesn’t have the greatest goal scoring record –

    Years Team Apps† (Gls)†
    2003–2005 Mallorca B
    33 (4)
    2005–2007 RCD Espanyol B
    ? (?)
    2007–2010 Swansea City
    49 (9)

So I guess Parky will want him on a short term contract to see how he manages the injuries situation, where the agent will be pushing for a decent contract length and wage.

    Let’s see who blinks first…

Granted goalscoring record is nothing spectacular, maybe injuries have contributed towards that but this is a level that he hasnt played at and from what we have seen he is going to be a star in this league and if Parky is happy with his fitness i would hope he would be securing a longer contract. I think theres something about this guy
