Yet another player in a long line that we haven't managed to get the best out of. Wingers and attacking midfield players (barring maybe only Jensen, but even he came in for stick from some quarters) are never given the support they deserve at Charlton. A team full of cloggers will get you nowhere but at least they'll appear to be trying hey?!
I blame a combination of management/coaching/support
am i sad to see him go no i f---ing aint ,ability has loads of it, did we ever see him produce this ability i dont think so , Lloyd dont forget to take your pillow, in case you get tired and cant play 2 full games in a week.
Why do Leeds need him? They already have Snodgrass and Gradel. He's not good enough for the Championship and I think Leeds will struggle next season. Glad to see Wagstaff finally get the chance he deserves although we do need back up.

[cite]Posted By: Fanny Fanackapan[/cite]Oggy - I believe Sam is pretty inconsolable at the minute. As you probably know, she is also a massive Chrissy Powell fan and always joked ( I hope !) that Lloydie is the love child of that union..... I'm hoping that Lloyd will get in touch with her directly before he actually moves northwards permanently as they have been "together" in a shirt sponsorship sense and more for several seasons.
I wish Lloyd luck , although I haven't always appreciated what he gives the team .
One thing's for sure....The Sponsors' dinner will never be the same again.
Hello Fanny.
Poor Sam, she was devoted. Give her a big hug.
Thanks Oggy & Fanny, this is about the worst birthday I've ever had !! :-(
queensland_addick 3 hours ago quote# 59 Was it ever announced on the official site that Matt Holland was leaving? I don't recall seeing anything. Perhaps a similar situation as Sam. Out of contract, no longer our player!
Lloyd's departure is tagged on the Waggy story on the OS ......
[cite]Posted By: Southendaddick[/cite]Makes me laugh the abuse he gets....
Good luck Lloyd, I look forward to Wagstaff running into dead ends for the next 9 months.
Fully expect Lloyd to do an Ambrose next season.
[cite]Posted By: colthe3rd[/cite]I really do despair with some of the people on this board nowadays. Good luck Lloyd, you obviously did enough to impress teams in a higher division but clearly not enough for some folk here. The sooner people realise we are no longer in the premiership and therefore the players at the club are not premiership quality, the better.
It has nothing to do with the fact that he has flattered to decieve for the the last 3 seasons or taht he ran out of gas after 20mins and he has the fitness of a 3 yr old
loads of people on here just had enough of him due to him not fulfilling his potential. Every manager we have had can not be the reason for that.
Like i said glad he has gone good luck to him and i wish him well but i am glad he has gone
[cite]Posted By: cafcdan18[/cite]Should have pissed League 1 but often too inconsistent.
I defend Sam, but he shouldn't have "pissed League One" any more than Racon or Bailey. Good player, talented, but not so good he can destroy every team he comes up against. League One is not that poor and Sam is not that talented. Loads of wingers out there with a bit of skill and pace, some with far more than Sam as well.
Sam is fast but not quick enough to be a terror. I remember his Prem Senior Debut when he played for Les Reid and he put in a good shift, but he has never gotten better since that appearance. Its like Sam hit his prime way too early in his career...
Why do people keep saying he's got 10 assists, wow. The amount of crosses he does (or tries to do) he should get more assists plus more goals. He played 40 odd games for a team that finished a couple of points behind 2nd place in the 3rd division. Glad he's gone. Why do people keed saying crap like "good luck Lloyd",like he's ever going to read this site,he will forget about us in a couple of years.

Just being polite. Couple of years? Couple of minutes more like! It's not as if he is going to face us this season.

Because 10 is good, not great, even though it doesn't sound a lot. The best in the league was 16, and that's for teams with 2 good strikers to aim crosses for. Only a handful of players got more assists than Sam, and most of them are considered better players anyway.
Good luck to him, as others have said talented but inconsistent, there was a moment last season when he scored several goals in a short space of time, was linking well with Richardson and Burton and I thought that he was going to have a mega-season. Then he seemed to get injured and was never the same again. The move will be good for him - no more comfort zone and he'll have to work hard and become more consistent or will he fade away?
Good luck Lloydy, I am sure you will prove how good you are at Leeds and people will be wishing you had stayed with us! Anyway, one of the few youth players in recent years to come through Charlton and stick around for long enough for us to watch you develop.
Wagstaff will beome a decent replacement in time but I don't expect it this season.
[quote][cite]Posted By: Vincenzo[/cite][quote][cite]Posted By: 1 light[/cite]Do people on here who likes Sam actually really watch him play?he can't pass a simple ball,he can't cross a ball n when he does do one good cross everyone says what a great cross, the other 30 crosses before was crap,he always has his shorts right down so he can't run right n he's one of the biggest earners there,I'll be glad not to see him in a charlton shirt anymore.[/quote]
How did he manage 10 assists last year then?[/quote]
Simple answer to that is the lack of strikers in the box to receive them. Sadly to get credited with an assist you need someone to score a goal.

Good Luck Lloyd.
Gawd, how many times did I hear that and he never did.........
My sentiments exactly.
Thanks Oggy & Fanny, this is about the worst birthday I've ever had !! :-(
Best wishes, anyway. x

Interesting to see how he does in the Champ with a new manager and a new set of fans.

No loss here, quite possibly the only professional footballer who has no idea on how to read a game of football!!
He was one of those players who fooled people into thinking he was good. Saving his wages is a godsend.
