[cite]Posted By: Oggy Red[/cite]D'you reckon Sam has given up being picked by Ingerland ......or just had his head turned vby Chris Dickson's Ghana appearances?
Probably thought to himself, "If even Dicko can get picked for Ghana, I've deffo got a chance!"
If only Lloyd had done this earlier.
The whole of Africa might have done better in the World Cup.
His fitness and stamina at times last season was embarassing for a professional footballer. Remember in particular at Wycombe in early Jan, Sam looked shattered after about 25-30mins. Was breathing very heavily and looked like a smoker out on the pitch. Was not the only occassion this happened.
If he is to be a success in the Championship, needs to drastically improve this area as will get found wanting more and more. Whoever is the full back behind him also will not be best pleased.
Had a very in out season for me, had the talent to piss this league and often didn't. If he had been electrifying all season it could really have tipped the promotion scales in our favour. I wont weep a mountain of tears on his departure but I recognise his talent.

I think that's a bit harsh, often linked up with Richardson well going forward. Did more defending than often given credit for.
Reid isn't particularly fit either, but that doesn't put anyone off signing him.
He played over 40 games last season and although he was often take off, that's more than some players could manage. Todorov one example of a player far more unfit than Sam in recent seasons.
He might well have more impact in the Championship as a squad player and not having to play nearly every game. He'd also benefit from better strikers. Sometimes he'd be critisized for not putting a cross in, yet there was only someone like Mooney in the box surrounded by defenders.
If he thinks he had it tough at Charlton wait till the Leeds fans get on his back, be interesting to see if he pulls his finger out when its required......then we will know he never put the effort in here when he could have.
[quote][cite]Posted By: Scoham[/cite] Sam seems to be the only youth player that has come through in recent years that some fans actually hate. Gets a lot of abuse at games, sometimes without really doing anything wrong.
Your memory's letting you down. I've seen a fair bit of negativity and snideness about Lisbie, Wright, Randolph, Fortune. I'm sure there's others. Even heard a couple of digs at Robbie. I really don't think we do well at getting behind our own.

Negativity yes, but apart from perhaps Lisbie, did anyone really hate Wright, Randolph, Elliot and Fortune?
There's negativity at times about all youth players, people writing them off after a couple of mistakes. I've heard it at games and read it about Shelvey as well.
Not the same as actual hate for Sam from some fans.
Do people on here who likes Sam actually really watch him play?he can't pass a simple ball,he can't cross a ball n when he does do one good cross everyone says what a great cross, the other 30 crosses before was crap,he always has his shorts right down so he can't run right n he's one of the biggest earners there,I'll be glad not to see him in a charlton shirt anymore.
Yes I heard the ' groans' re Shelvey the last game or so he played at home, but that is Charlton....... really do not agree with it at all.
I do not think the own grown get a rough ride, more of a frustration thing really. Lisbie epitomised that!.
As I posted earlier this week, we are gonna have to give the younger players a good go this year! and they are gonna make mistakes!. Giving players some stick is not always a bad thing, but just slagging them off especially when they are inexperienced does them no good at all!
If the club cannot tolerate that, do not play them. Let us keep the barbed comments for the so called 'experienced players' . Harsh comments as well 1 light.... Oh well it is a game of opinions!
so that crap manager lambert doesn't know how bad he really is or charlton fans in complete misread of a player shock
although obviously in recent times we do seem to get our players to underperform with such ease due to our magnificent training/coaching/management
Skysports.com understands Leeds United are poised to sign Charlton Athletic winger Lloyd Sam on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a number of Championship clubs as his Addicks contract is set to expire this summer.
Crystal Palace, Coventry City and Leicester City are also thought to be keen on the former England Under 20 international, as he looks to make the step up from League One.
Leeds earned their place in the second tier after finishing second in League One last term, while Charlton lost out in the play-offs to Swindon.
Sam, who was born in Leeds, could make the switch to Elland Road after seven years at The Valley.
Last season he made 43 league appearances for Charlton, scoring four goals, and his performances have alerted the Whites to his situation.
Leeds have already added Kasper Schmeichel, Billy Paynter, Paul Connolly and Federico Bessone to the squad on free transfers this summer, while Neill Collins has moved for an undisclosed fee.
Will be a loss as we won't get anyone better for League One level.

The second half of Fortunes career made people forget how they treated him in the first half. He came into his own when playing at a lower level. When he first appeared he got a massive slating, and even made reference to his early treatment in later interviews when told how much the fans loved him.
Was it ever announced on the official site that Matt Holland was leaving? I don't recall seeing anything. Perhaps a similar situation as Sam. Out of contract, no longer our player!
Bye Lloyd you are without doubt one of the most frustraiting players ive ever seen don the red shirt. At times you could go past players with ease but most of the time you were chuff and disinterested. You are one a long list of players who showed no heart and effort. Enjoy the north. we move on

Wouldnt wish Leeds on anyone and dont see him with the character to do well at Leeds but good luck to him.

It's on the Leeds website.
No doubt you'll score 15 goals, and get multiple assists next season.
but he isn't even our player, hasn't been since 1st July.
