He has an uncomfortable style at times. And he can appear slow. Sometimes he only has one pass (high towards the left wing). When he is off-form, he can be very off form but...
He will be the first person to roll up his sleeves and dig in at difficult away games. If a playmaker has spotted an important pass and you need someone to read the game, he'll be the one making the block. If you need an important goal when your strikers are having an off-day, he'll deliver it. If you're defending a one goal lead and they're bombarding your box with high balls, he'll be the one heading them away. If you have an injury crisis upfront, he'll do a fine job as cover. If they have a centre forward who is starting to look dangerous and run things, Doc will "impair" him. When your team have a really poor game, Doc will be the one standing up and fighting.
The guy will quickly divide you into pro and anti Doc camps.
But when all is said and done, your results will be better for having him in the team.
with our recent successful coaching methods ... we'll squeeze out the good bits and increase the shit bits
[cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]makes you wonder why they have given him away.
I guess he's just not good enough for the Championship, but more than adequate for League 1. Norwich must have ambitions a bit higher than just staying up if they're letting him go.
When i heard we had captured an ugly, uncultured, clumsy centre half with a serious lack of pace, i thought we had snapped up our very own Glass Half Empty !!
Sounds like the type of player that will tackle people with his face. As someone said on another thread, two hardened signings with L1 experience so far, which is exactly what we need.

My question would be:
Is he really capable of scoring 46 goals next season from defence?

Then a few inconsistant results later he restored him to the backline, where Doherty dug in and led the team to the title.
I guess Doherty never forgave Lambert - and Lambert never forgot why he dropped Doherty......?
Not anymore we don't. BOOOOO.
:-)
You must have seen only fools and horses.
