Posted By: Chris_from_SidcupI love how Sky sports announces it before our own official website
Give it a few weeks, I'm sure someone will be able to jot something down
You were saying
[cite]Posted By: gilbertfilbert[/cite]Sky backtracking on their website? We're among the clubs interested in signing him apparently.
But next time this happens it will be forgotten and it will be lets slag off the OS again : - (
there's nothing to forget, once again the OS was painfully slow with giving us, the fans correct info! Sky clearly knew about it yesterday, but I suppose they was making it all up and just got lucky guess, right.

Or it was not signed until this morning but someone leaked it to Sky yesterday and as a club we have learned to say nothing until it is all wrapped and final

Probably knew about it but he just didn't officially sign until this morning.

So funny, cling to that straw.
SSN jumped the gun and then backtracked on it within hours. They got it wrong which is why they changed their story.
The OS ran it when it was a done deal. They got it right and they got it first.
Surprised and delighted by this one. Like others, I'd have baulked at it two or three years ago, but ideal for where we find ourselves. Experienced, rugged, and usually adds a few goals. Really hope we can keep Dailly too, even if they won't necessarily complement each other - we don't have a ready-made Rufus to add the pace and as observed elsewhere, Dailly wasn't often skinned due to his ability to read and mop up. Just hope now that the Bailey money (when confirmed) can be spread to allow at least the wages to attract Parky's targets.
[quote][cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]very happy. Very good League 1 player. I know didn't know he was voted into League 1 team of the year. Hopefully first of many.[/quote]
Good signing. Hopefully in complement to Smodje and Dailly, not in replacement although we may struggle to carry 4 senior centre backs on wage bill next season so not sure I expect to see both of them back at the Valley next season.

agree. Don't think we will see Sodje and Dailly unless Llera leaves which I hope he doesn't.

I'm convinced you run the OS Henry as your loyalty to them knows no bounds!
The OS got it right but certainly not first as Sky announced it 24 hours ago.

Sky reported that he had signed before he officially did though. The OS for obvious reasons aren't going to speculate or announce that players that signed when they haven't.
They said he'd signed and then said he hadn't so at least one of those statements had to be wrong.
OS said he'd signed when he had. At that time Sky were still saying he might sign as they had backtracked on their original story so they the OS go it first.
I wouldn't work for the OS unless they paid me.
And that ******* Wright sacked me from the programme to bring in some Gooner and I haven't forgotten.
I'll tell you what, I've seen a lot of players come and go from Spurs over the years but there's none more honest than him. Would always give you 110% effort. Was never going to be the most gifted of players but he'd always put his head in where it hurt and had an uncanny knack of finding you the odd goal. Have watched a lot of him over the years and have always had a soft spot for him.
Good in the air, not the quickest without the ball and has endearing quality only a centre-half could have...the ability to switch off, completely forget who they're marking at a set piece and cost you a goal and 2 or 3 points in injury time. Hey, even the best centre-halfs do it!
Was definitely signed as a centre-half at Spurs, and was only played up front due to the injury list and out-of-form strikers on the books at the time (we was so desperate for bodies, we even brought in Andy Booth on-loan from Shef Wed!)
Just the sort of player you need right now. Very good signing in my book.

Hey, John Boy ........ I wish you hadn't told us that!
[cite]Posted By: Bedsaddick[/cite]Great signing as far as im concerned and if the rumours of a an Arsenal Youngster on Loan ( midfieder) are true things are looking up.

I thought there was a lot on here that wanted to get rid of Llera? - Not necessarily you.
He has an uncomfortable style at times. And he can appear slow. Sometimes he only has one pass (high towards the left wing). When he is off-form, he can be very off form but...
He will be the first person to roll up his sleeves and dig in at difficult away games. If a playmaker has spotted an important pass and you need someone to read the game, he'll be the one making the block. If you need an important goal when your strikers are having an off-day, he'll deliver it. If you're defending a one goal lead and they're bombarding your box with high balls, he'll be the one heading them away. If you have an injury crisis upfront, he'll do a fine job as cover. If they have a centre forward who is starting to look dangerous and run things, Doc will "impair" him. When your team have a really poor game, Doc will be the one standing up and fighting.
The guy will quickly divide you into pro and anti Doc camps.
But when all is said and done, your results will be better for having him in the team.

Good captain material IMO

Hope it doesn't mean that Dailly is off, though.
