AFKA, how many volunteer players do we have now? As I don't know any of you individually I'd like to sponsor you all. How does this sound - £1 for every Charlton Lifer that takes part in the match (you've got to kick the ball for it to count) £2 for every goal scored £3 for any shot / clearance that goes into the upper tier of the North or West stands, or over the top of the East. £4 for any penalty saved (and that's saved, not missed) £5 for any shot that hits the crossbar And I'll double the amount mentioned if it's a female Lifer doing the kicking / shooting / saving.
No worries re the last point (double if it's a female) with me on the pitch - I might manage to cost you all of £1 providing I get to touch the ball during my 15 mins of fame!
Well, the guys just have to make sure they pass it you, don't they? (and I've edited the other post to clarify, you're going to cost me a minimum of 2 quid)
great effort Ali, just returned from my first training session in 15 years, had a fantastic time, really enjoyed myself, how do I feel? can I answer that tomorrow morning, any lifers that drink in The Bull on Shootershill, a hopefully lucrative sponsorship deal is to be tied up shortly, so please do not do a Pompey on me and try and nick it, the guvenor is going to organise raffles etc, over easter and its all coming to us, the golf society from the same establishment is to do the same thing. stop press............. a fitness update: is that I lasted over an hour on a pitch half the size of the sacred turf.
well done CE! I have3 raised over the 200 quid mark now. running out of people to ask. Is that website for the donations going to be open right up to the day because I'm just gonna keep going then put it all in in one go. oh and i know that family and friends are invited will there be a charge for them on the gate? Think there should be maximise funds raised an all that. just want to tell my family how much money they will need.

I also needed an answer for that question myself, will there be a charge to get in or just bucket rattlers. I must be a safe bet for Ali`s sponsorship of putting a shot in the top tier of The Covered End.

anyone is free to come along and watch. In all honestly, 99% of those interested enough would probably have sponsored in some way down the line, or if not will buy a programme or raffle tickets.
Not now, but we need to ascertain nearer the time how many people are likely to be coming to watch, as the club may need to arrange extra stewards.
Hey Guys, Just a quickie to say there are a few if us lifers out here who wouldn't dream of insulting the turf at the Valley with our hoofs but are following you all the way!
I'm in training for the post match beer marathon!!
AFKA, could I edit the email I sent to you,
Standard (haven't kicked a ball in 20 years, currently play sunday football,
used to play regularly, play 5 a side ok etc)
I now,
play small sided game regularly, every week! well actually this was my first week, and I`m now confined to the sofa, as I appear to have lost the use of my legs. but I`m still determined to last 60 minutes.
Now Ive got the forms Im off and running on the sponsorship side... everyone at work Know the're gonna have to cough up even though Ive only been there four days! The training is not coming along as fast as I would have liked although Im only 29 so Im sure I can do what is needed... I think Ill do the traditional thing with the forms and then pay it all in at once at the end and make sure I sort the tax thing at the end....
AFKA can you send me some sponsorship forms. Not to sure what has happened to the others. I think the wife deleted them. cheers. Will be playing five a side at goals this week to test the fitness. I havent played for over two years.
Read in last nights programme about the "pitch-hire". As I may be knocking CAFC on the head, I'd like to play at The Valley at least once !! Anyone interested in a kickabout this May ?

Someone else's he would!
You trying to get dibs on a shirt number then?
i know plenty of people who still play so it shouldn't be a prob. if it is a prob i'll beg on here nearer the time.
thanks. i'll let you know how i get on.
Damn right. My boots have Cook 9 on them, so i'd look like a bit of a c**t without the shirt.

So, too tight, or likely to bankrupt me?
Great sponsorship effort, though!
Left footed or right footed...
Favourite position...
Other positions can play if necessary...
A rough idea on fitness level....(10 mins max, a half, could jog about for
60 etc)
