  • I do trust Parky's opinion on players actually, for all his flaws. He has done quite well on a limited budget in my opinion. Most of the players were at least decent and I can't help thinking noone else would have done better with the same money. Richardson, Llera (for a free reserve CB), Dailly, Spring (unlucky not to have played more imo), Reid, Mooney (very cheap so I'm told) and Burton were all at least decent. Borrowdale was also a good loan actually. So I can't help thinking that he's done the best with the money available to him. But as with Pardew I think he struggled to get a good squad playing well.
  • I personally would be very surprised if he went to Boro...it's not an impossibility I admit...but I'd be really surprised.
Can't see Alfie and the kids being enamoured with going so far away to Middlesboro to be honest......well I suppose it's possible.
I've said before how close a family they are................it would be a hell of a wrench for all of them.
  • Alfie ??
  • You saying you don't know who Alfie is?

    EVERYONE KNOWS ALFIE.
  • Someone should ask her "what's it all about"

If it is true then going to Boro is hardly like being sent to live in Outer Mongolia, is it? It's only a couple of hours on the train or an hour on the plane away from being back in London.

He'll only be there a couple of years and can then come back south but in the meantime gets to play for a side with a decent shot at getting into the Premiership - that's not the sort of chance that comes your way too often and he sure as hell won't be getting it with us anytime soon.

In fact, I have heard Sir Lennie himself say that the areas around Middlesbrough are beautiful places to live and that he loved his time there.
  • Taking the charlton specs off for a sec, but is he really any good?

thats why it will be saints, QPR or millwall

in honesty I am not too disheartened if he goes. Yes he scored lots of goals but his passing is poor, not very fast, his leadership very poor and I detest his theatricals.

Thanks for all you've done Nicky and good luck - but it's time we went our separate ways and make Dailly club captain with Basey as deputy

do you know what, this is exactly how i feel, i think he served his time well with us but i dont think we would miss him as much as Jose for that reason and with some real frail hope that we will keep Jose if we sell nicky

goodluck adios now get off my wife i dont love you no more
  • Agree with the comments above. He's not nearly as good as some on here believe and his partnership with Semedo has rarely worked. Hope we sell him and find a passer to play next to Jose next season.
  • hmmm, i agree that he lost his way towards the latter part of the season, but the first 2/3 of this campaign he was one of our most important and best players, so lets not forget that.
Still, the club need the money and if it means we get to keep Jose if we sell Nicky, then so be it.
  • It really wouldnt surprise me if he went to Millwall but dont see any point in him going to Saints.
  • I'm hoping next season we'll have Racon/Semedo partnership in the centre.

Bailey will be off and we will miss him.
  • [cite]Posted By: Choice[/cite]It really wouldnt surprise me if he went to Millwall but dont see any point in him going to Saints.

Apart from the fact that his best footballing pal Puncheon plays for them and it's not too far from London and that they are certainties to be well in the shake up for automatic promotion next season....So there's three 'points' for starters Choice.
Not saying he'll go there though.

will we miss him though? semedo was the shining light at the end of the season and we need a good passer of the ball alongside him which nicky clearly wasnt at the end (goal conceded away at Swindon and goal conceded at home to Swindon) and an overall lack of creativity during the second half of the season. i think we relied far too much on bailey and if racon stays he has to up his game. parky should have learnt a lot from this season, whoever we bring in we should still be strong enough to go up. you do not need that much quality on the pitch, no real decent players just a bunch of players that wanted to dig in and get the results re millwall...

    agree.

Bailey may not be a prem player but he is a decent CCC player at least.

And he scores goals. You just can't ignore that.

well if we want to keep bailey that much then sell sam and use some of the money to buy puncheon :)
im not convinced they are certainties for promotion though, i still think a bigger club will be in for lambert and then they are in trouble. do you think he would seriously move to another club in this division, wouldnt be achieving much would it?

If the money is right, I don't see why not.
  • ONCE AND FOR ALL, LLOYD SAM IS OUT OF CONTRACT SO WE WON'T GET ANY MONEY FOR HIM. FACT. HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO SAY THIS BEFORE IT SINKS IN.

I still think we'll get at least £500,000 for him though.
  • Wont be too disappointed if bailey goes...
not much chance but i dont mind who goes if we can keep somedo and build a team around him

Lol, I was going to say can we make a sticky saying Sam is out of contract!
  • I can see where we are coming from and he has lost his way a little of late, I really thought this year he would boss every game in the centre of the park but he didnt. He moved out wide because he has an exceptional knack of scoring goals. I cant complain about his effort and i do feel he has not been playing 100% fit.

So I wish him good luck and hope the new start fires him back up to his form just after signing for Charlton

Boro is a very long way away, especially by coach on the way back when you've lost!
  • We will miss Bailey, but hopefully we can have a more balanced midfield.

Despite him being good enough for the Championship, I never felt he could dominate the midfield very often (even though he's seen to be that type of player) or form a good partnership. He is all about his goals and work rate, along with having no big weaknesses (or those he does have, he can cover up at this level).

As Henry said you can't ignore his goals. At the moment I feel we won't replace that in midfield, so will need more goals from whatever strikers we have, and keep more clean sheets.

That's a myth created on here isn't it to make people feel better about Millwall? Like it or not, they were one of the best teams in this league, they do have good players. Most here rate Darren Ward don't they, at least at this level? They have some good strikers as well. I don't know specifically about other players, but they obviously defend well, create chances and take them. That takes far more than just hard work. Without knowing their players that well, I'm sure a few at least will look decent Championship players next season.
