[cite]Posted By: cafcdan18[/cite]How are people getting to Rochdale from Man Pic?
Even though above it says it takes ages on the bus/tram, on the OS page about rail travel it says the best way is to get the tram and bus to Rochdale bus station then another bus to the ground.
I was planning on getting the train from Man Vic to Rochdale but now unsure if this is the best/quickest way?
Get the tram from Man Pic to Man Vic and then train to Rochdale...
Just booked Train tickets x2 out of Euston at 08.20, couple of swift halfs in Manchester then a choice between The Church Inn or The Cemetry Hotel......Decisions,Decisions....
Looks like they've got some decent ales and only a five minute cab ride to the ground.[/quote]
Dale fan here.
The Moorcock Inn is on the other side of town, you'd be looking at a 20min ish taxi ride to Spotland from there.
The pubs around the Spotland area welcoming and friendly to away fans.
The Cemetery Inn is a 5 min walk from Spotland, you'll drive past it en route to the ground from Junction 20 of the M62.
The Dale Bar is adjacent to the Main Stand at Spotland
Studds Bar is adjacent to The TDS Stand at Spotland
The Church Inn is on Willbutts Lane and is only a 30second walk away from the away turnstiles, you'll find former Addicks striker Mark Stuart supping in here on a matchday also!
The Star Inn is a 5-10min walk up Edenfield Road, it may be a little further away from Spotland than the other boozers but at £1.79 for a pint of 'Samuel Smith's' Lager the price will soon soften the heels after the walk!
Goldeneye, you can get Samuel Smiths in a pub in London called Chandos near Trafalgar Square for the same price and the nearby train station (Charring Cross) you can get a direct train to Charlton.

There's plenty of 'Samuel Smith' Boozers in and around Rochdale, if you walk for a further 5 mins past The Star Inn you'll come to another 'Samuel Smith's' Boozer called 'The Turf Tavern' (I have to walk past both pubs to get to and from Spotland!?!).
As I said before all the mentioned pubs are away fan friendly I just hope that with it once more being a Saturday fixture that you can bring a 1000+ fans up.
Been past this ground before and always wanted to visit one day.
Not managed to get my excrement together in time to buy tickets, but want to go.....does anyone know if there will be tickets on sale on the day for away fans?
P.S I love Sam Smiths ale and I love the Chandos - cheapest boozer in central London!

[quote][cite]Posted By: Valley_of_dreams[/cite]Anyone know what the criteria is for an away team to sell tickets on the day to the away fans? What is the likelyhood we can just turn up on the day?[/quote]
We have 'Cash Turnstiles' at Spotland aswell as 'Ticket Only'.
The stand that you will be in holds 3600 and is probably the best in the ground.
Commercial manager of the number one plant hire directory for the construction industry. For a free copy to all lifers fill out the regsitration form @ www.planthireguide.co.uk and i will have the new edition sent to you in the post
There are several pubs around the ground that are all welcoming of away supporters.
The Church Inn is 50 yards from the ground on WIllbutts Lane, this is traditionally where away fans have congregated before the game, there are normally a couple of big screens showing the lunchtime game
The Dale Bar is part of the Ratcliffe Arms and is right next to the Main Stand, accessible through the main car park. This is probably the busiest of the pubs around the ground and servce can be a touch on the slow side.
The Cemetery is a 5 minute walk back up Sandy Lane (You will pass this on the way to the ground if you have left the M62 at J20) and is a cracking pub for real ales.
Enjoy your day out, hopefully we can exact a bit of revenge for the cup game a few years ago!

new ground syndrome
Been waiting 35 years to visit Spotland - you can stuff your OT and Eastlands where the sun don't shine.

On sale on the day - definitely.
What is the likelyhood we can just turn up on the day?
Fingers crossed!

Do you know of any pubs not too far from the ground that has a dartboard in them.
Cheers

It does, along with a pool table.
