Mooney was our best player in the first half by a mile,i really do wonder what you lot watch at times. Just waiting to have a go.Take a look at their first goal,if you want a scapegoat look no further Lloyd Sham a complete waste of a wage.
My mother, who i might add is the reason i follow Charlton [used to go with her dad in the 60/70s] but hasn't seen us live since Prem days, kept going on about 'that weird looking bloke up front' [mooney] and how bad he was. Also Lloyd Sam being lazy. Strange.
didnt say he was the worst mate far from it, i just wish he had more strengh as he is not as bad in periods of the match as some give him grief for, he certainly does fall over a lot, and his first touch at crucial times is poor not all the time granted but imo he should not be starting before forster or burton but he would start in front of Akpo.
this is me being kind to the lad i def dont think he was our worst player not even in the worst 4 or 5
[cite]Posted By: northstandsteve[/cite]Ah good o Akpo Sodje who jumps for a ball when it leaves the keepers boot not when it actually reaches him.Come back the clown all is forgiven.
i do mate honestly i cant have him at all, but then again people see more in him than mooney, all i know is Monday's game is make or break for the club I love and it feels me with fear to the pit of my stomach.
Just back, absolutely shagged. Thought the atmosphere was very poor, although that awful stand didn't help.
Lloyd Sam completely ineffective, Mooney again seemed to run about a lot and linked up occasionally but would rather Forster started Monday with him coming off the bench. Sam Sodje was found out too many times, another good performance from Semedo, some fantastic tackles stopping the counter, we got to go up if we are going to keep him. Bailey battled well and was very unlucky with the long ranged shot, can't help thinking he is slightly wasted on the wing though. Burton put in a good shift although should of scored the header at the far post, probably more difficult to miss.
I have to echo the concerns of where our 2 goals on Monday will come from though, especially with Swindon inevitably parking the bus. Quietly confident though.
I thought we were crying out for Reid & Forster all game. Mooney held it up well couple of times but never looked like getting into a position to score. Lacked width.
Frustrates me how different we look when on tele.
like i said when you miss that many chances in a game 99 times out of a hundred you pay for it
Parky will have got the boys back in and said we have given ourselves a proper good chance now and be thinking thank god
wilson will be saying the same stuff but inside thinking we should have finished them tonight, we wont play that badly again for that i am sure, a tin pot ground in a tin pot town the pitch looked tiny and to have no roof on a ground in 2010 is a disgrace they should be relegated for that fact alone
also not only did pardont feck our club i blame him for those stoopid clapper things coming into the english game how many trees die for those if you can afford to give them to yur fans you can build a roof on your terrace
as said before, firstly how are we still in it ? I'm afraid Mooney is pony. Forster came on and did more in thirty seconds than Mooney had in sixty minutes. He has absolutely NO attributes and I can honesty say he is the worst ever striker I've seen in a Chartlon shirt. And Akpo Sodje isn't far behind. He needs to learn when to jump to head the ball and his control is shocking. I hope it doesn't come down to pens because if it's Mooney and Akpo on the pitch as Forster and Burton had been subbed already then I'd hate to see either of them take a pen. All round I thought we were poor although Randolph, Richardson, Semedo and Dailly were ok and Racon wasn't too bad. It's offensively where we are totally deviod of ideas. As for Borrowdale taking free=kick's in decent positions, why ?? Sam Sodje looks to be playing whilst injured so why ?? Need to buck our ideas up on Monday night but I can see them scoring so we will need to score twice just to force extra time. Not confident we can do that.
[cite]Posted By: northstandsteve[/cite]swindon will score on monday so we need at least 2 possibly 3 ;-(
Tend to agree. I think we needed a draw, at least, today. Can't see us turning possession into goals. Would love a jam packed valley to get behind the team and spur us on. But, can't see it happening.
Do we have any leaders? Players who will control the game? I don't think so. We rely too much on luck and chance. Will be delighted if I'm wrong
Just got back. When I looked at there ground, I couldn't believe the state of the place. I thought I had turned up at welling.
As for the perfomance i thought we looked good at times. Our set pieces were weak and mooney again looked weak on the ball. I wanted to see reid on. It's still all to play for. If paynter is out that's a boost.
Raise the ROOF (yes we have a fucking roof over our stand, your stadium ain't for the championship) on Monday. I was going mental when we scored it's a big goal.
Oh and for all the north upper lot let's try north upper and north lower instead of J BLOCK/H BLOCK.
I've never been as close to punching one of our own as I was tonight. There is a fat virgin somewhere tonight needing to be very thankful I had only had a few cans and still in control of my actions and didn't do a spot of al fresco dentistry.
On another note, we were very pedestrian, was never going to create any atmosphere with no roof, we need to play with much more urgency and pace to our game on Monday. We need to press them high up the pitch and play with intensity. We have done it a few times with this squad so they are capable.
The energy some of our lot (fans is not really appropriate term) put into blaming they're preferred hate figure instead of backing the side in a play off semi-final is incredible.
I have never come close to wanting to iron out one of our fans but tonight I very nearly did, like I say a couple more beers and a bad mood would of ended up with a fat pube haired virgin being on the recieving end of a punch or four to the head. And I would be the villian.
Just for Monday, 1 game, could those of you that really don't like individual players keep your broken record-esque, shit to yourselves and button your mouths. Just for one game and get behind the team whoever is picked for 120 minutes if need be.
watching on TV I was amazed at the silence that greeted us getting a corner with 15 minutes to go when chasing at 2-1 down
We forced a corner and I expected to see our fans behind the goal go nuts and roar....but I heard NOTHING
OK it was on TV and there was no roof.... but I was looking closely and didn't even see physical reactions of e.g. fists raised, leaning forward and people opening their mouths
but there you go
we are still in it for sure
played alright in patches in 2nd half and dominated possession
we CAN do this
and we (those at the stadium on Monday) need to get behind the lads
First time in ages our defence looked poor especially early on. The midfield gave them far too much room. Semedo and Racon looked really uncomfortable.
Looked like we'd got it back at the end of the first half. TV always causes us problems.
Hope that was the awful Sam's last game for the club. Seen better players in Charlton Park.
I thought Mooney looked OK. His problem was the ball was booted long out of defence and there wasn't a Charlton player near him to lay it off to. Racon looked poor imo. Agree with those who want Bailey moved inside (for Racon), Forster in for Mooney from the start (more of a goal threat) and Reid on the left. COYR!
Am surprised it hasnt gone off amongst our own more.
As for the match, Mooney nearly put in his Millwall performance. Totally bloody useless, ditto both the Sodjes.
Bailey has to play behind the forwards with Reid on the left.
Again, I just think we have a crap manager with some non-league players upfront who just arent good enough.
Semedo was outstanding, held it together, covering constantly for Racons many bad passes.
We have to have a go but can't see it if he persists with Mooney. Akpo. I mean come on mate. Youre 6'2, put it about mate ffs. Hopeless. Totally hopeless.
Fast effort was me sprinting outta cab across Trafalgar Sq to get the last train. Made it by 10 seconds...
we just have some people that follow us that needs to know that not all sth londoners share their views on who lives in trees and that irish people are english killing knuts i dont mind there being an edgy element to some of our fans but i really wanted to hit our own and like Carter i can not believe that these people are following charlton
Yes Mooney was pony yesterday but if by some chance Parky sticks with him on monday instead of forster please do get on the blokes back. If the moronic minority do that then forget going to Wembley next weekend.

Ah ok. I thought you were saying the Swindon fans were racist.
Decent bunch you lot, had a good crack with some of you in the Merlin beforehand.

Ah. Had them on the bus back to Manchester after the Oldham game. Group of about 5-6 spotty teenagers. Dont get to many away games of course and couldnt believe the pathetic songs they kept singing. Glad to read the reaction here, and feel a bit guilty now that I didnt say something. They are not edgy at all, just a bunch of gobby kids who need to be told. Mark Mansfield did it once years back at Oxford to a similar group, rest of us backed him up and we didnt hear a peep out of them, that night or subsequently when I saw them around.
Swindon should have had this tie sewn up but havn't. They will know that and now be nervous about The Valley. Once we were 2 goals behind we actually took control of the game and could have actually got something out of the game. Mooney was awful and thought Sam didn't step up to the plate at all. Cannot for the life of me understand bringing on Waggy with Reid sitting on the bench. On Monday I would drop Mooney for Forster and come out all guns blazing. Feel quite confident that Wembley is within our grasp. Big crowd, big noise, big effort and we will win. COYR

very little we could do about 20-30 handed this lot and not spotty teenagers unfortunatly ;-(

COYR!
The blonde haired lad on the left wing for us is Alan O'Brien. He hasn't played since xmas and been out injured. Still amazed at his pace!
Disappointed we gave away the goal that we did though, our keeper should have done better I feel.
Simon Ferry's run for our 2nd goal, I didn't know he had that pace!
Your keeper made some great saves lads, where did you get him from?
To me, you look like a decent side just lacking that fire power up front?
Christ we have some real knobheads following us.
Am surprised it hasnt gone off amongst our own more.
