    lol....
  • I've actually enjoyed this season more that the last few as at least weve had some wins, and some goals and some flippin joy, ive had loads of sundays where ive been able to dream of it turning for us, and that dream is still alive...

    I'm with mascot88
  • until Reid came on we looked a beaten side.
  • Was at the game and can confirm that the guy definatly blocked Forsters header with his arm. Was level with the edge of the penalty area and in the front row of the seats and had a completley unobstructed view. The ref however was on the far side of the box and probably couldn't see it, but the linesman on the near side should have had a clear view.

The game turned on its head when Reid came on. And it made a change for it to be the opposition fans booing Lloyd Sam and not ours.
  • where i was it was ours booiong him aswell

why did they have it in for sam? I saw the tackle but didnt think it was that terrible
  • Didn't he wrestle someone to the ground in thew 2nd half as well.
  • On the radio it sounded like after his yellow card he fouled another player and they wanted him sent off. At first it sounded like they thought he was a bit lucky to stay on.
  • Not to sure the veiw wasnt great but they were defo trying to get him sent off i felt in the second half every little thing they ran to the ref for.
  • First tackle was a bit late but he stayed on his feet and the Exeter bloke made it look worse by doing a mid air pirouette. The one in the second half he just kept hold of the blokes shirt for a little bit after he'd played the ball and he went down in a theatrical heap. Either could have been deemed a yellow depending on the ref, but it would have been harsh to get booked for both imo. Ref was terrible though, didn't want to give any freekicks closer than 40 yards to either goal but compensated by giving about a thousand niggly freekicks in the middle of the park. Missed two pretty clear pens imo too, one for each side.

We're still in with a chance...it's not going to be a cake walk by any means as we are struggling for consistency as much as anything else but we CAN do it......as such I am somewhat baffled at the on-going negativity of some folk. Surely this isn't the time for recriminations or finger pointing...if we fail then by all means dissect everything in site but not now....we need positvity and bucket fulls of it from players, management, club staff and not least us fans....so PLEASE let's cut out the crap ('for now' that is) and get behind the team to firstly get to Wembley and then...............well who knows.
I've been saying for months that it will be us V Millwall at Wembley and I may well be right................god forbid!

i still fancy us against millwall

    wtf?

has oggy got oohaah's log in details?
  • With only one win - and a fairly lucky one at that - in 12 matches(inc. cups) against the top 6 (if Soton didn't have the points penalty), we look like a side that can grind out wins against vastly inferior squads, but can't cut it when in against similar quality players. It's in our own hands, but statistically we don't look like we have the answers
  • Very few defeats though and a lot of draws. Shows how similar the top 6 are in quality and that the play offs will most likely be very close games.

Will Swindon be confident knowing they couldn't beat us at their home ground or against 9 men?

Huddersfield lost to us and we drew with them away, yet they could beat Millwall at home.

Leeds another tight game and we play them again next week.

Millwall the only team in the top 6 we've really struggled against aren't they?

Wouldn't be surprised if the play off semi finals and final go to extra time and penalties.
  • Mortimerican, We played Norwich off the park just 1 week ago, Were the better team at Elland Road, Haven't lost to Huddersfield or Swindon ( in fact with 9 men against Swindon we created plenty of chances). Against Southampton at home we had a perfectly good goal from Deon disallowed, away we could easily have got something. Ok at Millwall we were useless but at home they equalised in the 94th minute.

Again remind me how we cant cut it against similar quality players

.....having played an hour with 10 men.

and both swindon games it was us equalising in the last minute.

All fair points, but for various reasons we've failed to put these teams away

All good points, but the team that gets through the play-offs is generally the one that goes into these games with a run of form and confidence.

We've thrown too many points away by not being able to finish off other teams, Norwich should have been buried and Southampton too, but since Burton's goals (who has played heroically) started drying up we haven't been able to kill teams off - we need that self-belief that a run of good results brings. That is what is missing right now.
  • True but most of the teams around us aren't winning every game either. We surely aren't the only ones worrying we aren't playing well enough to win the play-offs.

:o) we can get 2nd still........ at a very longshot ;o)
  • Had a great day out and thought a draw was a fair result. Saying that we had our chances in the last 20 but their keeper made a couple of great stops and there was the clearance off the line. Thought first half was fairly even but they looked good first 25 minutes of the second half and got their goal which how Randolph got so close to saving it I still dont know now! The introduction of Reid completely changed the game. He was willing to run with the ball which Bailey doesnt offer on the left and got a deserved goal (was just behind the goal to the left and I dont think it went in but who cares...). Overall I'm not too disappointed, no team in the top ten has won there all season and if you had said to me at the start of the season we would be in the play-offs I wouldnt have complained. Now we try and pick up two wins hopefully with a few goals for the strikers and we can have a right go at getting to Wembley. We've done it before, we can do it again... COYR!!!
  • Tactics and application yesterday were poor, Reid should start and Bailey should play in the centre. You could see we were going to go behind because we did not pick up from where we left off against Norwich, and once we went behind you could see that we would not win - identical to Yeovil and Brentford away.

    Tranmere, Exeter, Gillingham, Orient, Yeovil.

These teams are all fighting relegation and have taken 10 points from us.

We are not good enough for the auto spot.

Can we beat a top side over 2 legs, then go on to beat Leeds or Millwall in the playoff final ?

Again, I'm not sure we are good enough.

[cite]Posted By: windscreen[/cite]I'm with soundas on this one...It's not over til the fat lady sings, and I'm hoping that it's a fat lady from Leeds or Huddersfield rather than a scrubber from the toolbox. Let's think logical, beat Leeds and put the scum up, it really is our best option.
Or beat Leeds and Oldham hope Leeds lose their remaing other game and that Millsmall and Swindon both Lose then Draw on the last day!
  • Ha ha ha not drugs, just optimism.... It keeps me happy ;o)
  • Game was alright, none of the stuff from Norwich though, bit dire up front really, ref was a bit w*nk

Night out in Exter was the normal run of the mill thing, say 2 drunken fights at 8:30pm, bit early really. Chanted "you're just a shit Sammy Bartram" to a statue outside Exeter College for some reason and played footy in the hotel room at 12:30am

I've just trawled through 120 posts, nearly all by miserableable moaning people who weren't at the game. But ........
I love you, Dazzler ..... lolol
  • didn't go so can't comment on the game itself. However, for a side chasimg the automatics four points from the last four games clearly is nowhere near good enough. As for the play-offs themselves we'll be lucky to get through to even Wembley. Two goals scored over two legs won't be good enough. Parky needs to show some balls for once and drop Racon, partner Bailey with Semedo or JJ if Bailey unfit, play Reid and Sam/Wagstaff out wide and hope we can create some decent chances which we might stick away. Seems unlikely at the moment but you never know. For all the rhetoric from Parky and players that we need to win the next three, next game is a must win etc etc when push comes to shove they are not up to it and tactically Parky seems unprepared to give it a real go. Next two games there is absolutely nothing to lose so let's hope we really go for it.
  • I think until yesterday Racon had been playing well and better than Bailey. He had a poor afternoon yesterday though and although I think he's trying to get forward more (even beyond the front 2 on one occassion yesterday) you don't really sense he's got a goal in him at the moment. Like I've said many times, Bailey has been poor imo in 2010, however, I think I saw just a glimps in the last 10 mis yesterday he was getting back to something like the player we know he is when playing well - he threw himself into a few challenges and a couple of the raking cross-field passes found their targets.

I agree with you Large, for these last two games and at least the home play-off match (if it comes to that) we need to have faith in our back 4 with Semedo screening to provide enough solidity and start with 2 wingers and a slightly more advanced centre midfielder (be that Bailey or Shelvey) becauuse we need to find a way to score more than once a week.
  • crap game, only came to life when Reid came on. Full backs were both v poor I thought, and the front 2 didn't really have alot of service.....anyway the game only got in the way of our weekend down there, stayed 5 mins from the ground - cracking city and a great couple of days. Not feeling the greatest now though after the 3 and a half hour drive home!.
