[cite]Posted By: The Red Robin[/cite]Are we really comparing Manchester Utd and Charlton Athletic on here? How much did they pay for their team?
If thats how you read that then fair play to you ... If you actually read it correctly it was about a top against team a bottom team. Still at least they played great again like against Norwich and southampton. A point a game for the last 4 games for a team fighting for autos just aint good enough. Not for Man u not for charlton not even for hull

Norwich and Southampton who both spent over a million pounds on their teams you mean?
Come on, Man Utd have built that desire over a period of winning the majority of their games for almost 25 years now....and with the same manager....and even they've been pretty poor this season by their standards and have lost far too many games which may still cost them the title, an FA Cup and the Champions League. Strong desire but nothing to show for it. We may have still have something to show for it come the end of May.
Personally of all the accusations you can level at this team, lacking commitment or desire is not one of them.
what Uncle said. Hudders, Leeds and Millwall all scoring goals. Us, 2 in 4 games. I hope and pray I'm wrong, but I just can't see us turning it around in time. The others will be looking forward to playing us.

I think you'll find the accusation i was levelling was expectancy. They expect we dont
I agree with mist. Huddersfield scored 6 today, and Leeds scored 4.
Our only goal should have been ruled out.
Please tell me how we should be optimistic about our chances, because that appears to be flying in the face of reality from where I'm standing!
I know there's always a chance, but I feel that we would have to be lucky (despite some encouraging recent performances) to get a result from the play offs, as we quite simply couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo at the moment....
[cite]Posted By: The Red Robin[/cite]I expect Utd expected to beat Burnley away this season too. We would have beaten Norwich and Southampton if it weren't for the keepers.
Yeah thats a bloody nuisance aint it ....Teams putting keepers in goal ! Christ
Huddersfield were playing against a relegated team about to go out of business and Leeds beat MK Dons who had 10, 9 and finally 8 men, no manager and had nothing to play for. We beat that same team 5-1 at home 11 vs 11 when MK Dons were still pushing for promotion.
All of our games recently have been against teams who still have had something to play for.

[quote][cite]Posted By: Scoham[/cite][quote][cite]Posted By: Kap10[/cite]If we go up, then that may be what we have to expect next season, without investment in the team.[/quote] True, but we'd still have a significant number of fans that would not find it acceptable.[/quote]
Staying in Plymouth at the moment just got back. Thought it was quite an entertaining game actually, with a draw probably being a fair result. We were the better team in the first half and the last 15 of the second, in between that Exeter played very well.
I just wish we played our football on the ground instead of lumping it up in the air all the time. As soon as Reid came on, we played some football and scored our goal. It appears that Burton is no where near fit, he hardly won the ball in the air at all (which is quite unlike him), and balls in the air were mostly aimed at Forster. I was in the side stand with the Exeter fans, (which was most frustrating), but it looked like the header (after our goal) was more over the line than the actual goal!
I know Llera has had two or three stinkers for us, but when he does play he always looks to play football on the ground rather than that buffoon Sodjie. The amount of hoofed clearances by him today was embarrasing.
Awful ground, but a good day out even though I had to take the wife!
Bar essex al's last comment, 77 i listened to ur wonderful commentry. Mr mansfield. On the way bk and a draw was a fair result. Played ten times better last wk.
looks like loads of people mopped up with their bets earlier in the season on burnley to beat to beat man utd. nice one on that prediction and i hope you had a lot on it
Just got back. We started brightly for 10 mins, but then went back to the crap of January/February for the next 70 mins - couldn't string 3 passes together, lost every 50:50 and persisted on hoofing aimless balls down the throats of two 6'3"+ centre backs. Racon in particular had a very poor game, but no-one came out blameless.
Things needed changing at half time but Parky sat on his hands as usual until we were a goal down. Reid made a difference and Bailey improved once playing centrally and that lifted the rest of the midfield, which until that point had been overun. Llera coming on made a difference too, he looked to pass the ball out of defence and was doing it accurately rather than just hoof it aimlessly.Once we started keeping the ball we looked a much better side but it came too late and from a trailing position.
Llera was very unlucky to hit the post with his freekick. Burton should have scored twice, one free header onto the bar (easier to score) and another straight at the goalie. Forster got a clear chance on goal and flufffed it and had another cleared off the line (possibly using a hand) that looked in to me. Not sure Reidy's was over the line. Exeter should have had a pen imo. Randolph had another very good game.
Really don't know how the season is going to end. Automatic is still not to be ruled out given the fixtures and we seem to raise our game a bit against the better sides, but it's looking very unlikely now. Play-offs really could go either way, even when we play badky we seem to get something from games most weeks but the lack of fire-power is still a big big concern (Forster's not had the impacxt I hoped and hasn't really done it for me, overall, so far). As per usual, we're not going to do it the easy way.
Another year of League 1 lets hope we can do a Leeds and keep some of our team... Still behind the team 100% just amitting deafet. Theres still hope that Palace goes down so its all good...
the boo boys were out in force untill we scored and then they were more than happy to cheer honestly dont know why they bother going all the way down to the exeter if they are just going to stand there for 90 mins and moan. Sorry to bring it up again but, seriously.

i was behind the goal aswell i thought it definatley crossed the line what one do you mean the first or the second?

Jeez. I've just woken up, read that comment and realised I must've been asleep for a month. Who did we lose to in the play-offs then?
i now see us as 0% automatics 100% playoffs and 0% out of playoffs come the end of the season ;-)
now the new one
i see us 50% lose in the play off semi's 30% lose in the final and 20% win the play offs
we're a tough unit to crack at the moment our very own binary bores might be able to grind thru the play offs ....
i still fancy us against millwall but not too keen on our chances against the others
I was standing right on the touchline by the corner flag and I can confirm that the ball definitely DID cross the line. I was looking right along the line and to me it was obvious that the ball was in the goal before it was hacked clear. Fortunately the linesman, who was about 12" away from me had a similar view and gave it. I can also confirm that the Exeter player blocked the ball on the line with his arm, so I have no idea why the same linesman failed to give the penalty.
Chunes wrote: ''...personally, I've grown a bit tired of the "we did all the right things, so let's keep doing them and hope the results come our way" attitude. Parky's been subscribing to that all season. For me, that's not a winning attitude. That's a ribena advert .''
Fair point from Chunes, I think.
Just got back from three weeks vacation in the States, including being stranded there for the last week. While I was away we won one game out of four and scored two goals in 360 mins - in other words, the usual disappointing run-in that has become our custom.
Not optimistic about the play-offs on the back of that, but will pray and hope and invoke the spirit of '87 and be there to cheer the team on. If we do nick it, I shall raise a very large glass of ribena to Parky and the players!

As for Leeds, that was against 9 men and a team who have nothing to play for, ditto Stockport who have jacked it in.
Exeter are still fighting for their lives
All of our games recently have been against teams who still have had something to play for.
More like Arsenal v Wigan, err...
Stockport at home i expect us to smash, Exeter away i dont.
We should be positive, we are a difficult side to beat, Swindon in the play offs i reckon
totally agree Uncle.

What our patient bunch of fans

I have not seen Charlton since Christmas but there seemed to be a lack of height in the team and not enough options from the bench.
Both teams probably did not want draw.
I will routing for you in the playoffs,
