Jimmy, taking my son to see World's End on Friday.
Was hoping for more of SOTD and Hot Fuzz silliness which he loves.
Then again I thought Paul was a good film and most seemed to hate that.
There's definitely a split in opinion. There's a lot of good will, as evidenced in the mostly positive reviews. The younger you are the less bothered you'll be about my personal issues with the movie, so hopefully your boy will love it all the same.
I liked Paul too though!!
Let us know what you think when you've seen it. Interested to know.
Last night it was a toss up between Pacific Rim and The Heat. We went to see the latter and what a hoot it turned out to be. A lot of really good belly laughs from the people responsible for "Bridesmaids". I hadnt previously heard of Melissa McCarthy but she proved every bit as good as Sandra Bullock who played the Clutzy straight laced FBI agent against Mc Carthys very earthy, feisty urban detective. Not had such a good laugh in ages. Some very un pc stuff included and Im still giggling about the bag of flour quip to the Albino DEA agent.....funny stuff.
The Wolverine is... underwhelming. Vastly better than the last one admittedly, some nice action and it's pretty violent (cut down for kid friendliness, but I wouldn't take a pre-teen that's for sure).
Jackman loves the character, but there needs to be a story to tell that the makers are passionate about. This is not that story. It has more plotholes than Skyfall (ok not that many) but it's comic book so it's not worth pondering for too long.
Not a recent film, but just saw 'Triangle'. Cracking film - totally surprised by how good it was. If you like Memento or The Machinist, watch it. It has the added bonus of having Melissa George in the lead role (mmmmmmmmmm)
Behind the Candelabra.....enjoyed it, but was tought to watch some of the male on male interplay at times....very brave of Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, but fail to see how his audience didnt realise he batted for the other side....growing up as a kid in the 60's Liberace seemed to be on tv all the time and it was pretty obvious in my opinion. Good film, but like Brokeback Mountain a bit hard to watch if youre a heterosexual male...
Watched "Wrong turn at Tahoe" on Foxtel last night. Cuba Gooding Jnr, Miguel Ferrer and Harvey Keitel.....really blood thirsty but a good shootem up film from 2009

This is the End- Good comedy film. Decent cast too.

Decent, but not very special. 3/5.
