Just watched this. I think that 8/10 is fair enough, maybe 7/10. It keeps you guessing a bit. Cynical viewers will give up on it but I think it's worth watching. You've got to be ready to believe in the unbelievable to enjoy it. I like the last song in the film: I'd never heard of Hot Chip before but that's a damn fine track.
Saw World War Z tonight. Surprisingly good. Very good in fact. Would like to see the novel as a mini series still, but the movie is pretty fresh for a zombie flick, the novel serves as good inspiration. Brad Pitt turned up unannounced to introduce it, which was a bonus.
Take this Waltz (2011) Another brilliant film with the underated Michelle Williams in the lead role....great perforamnce by Seth Rogan as the erstwhile Husband....well worth a look if you think the grass is greener on the other side.

Set in 1950's France and the styling is really well done, probably helped by the fact that much of rural France still looks like it is the 1950's. I expected it to be too sugary sweet for me by ended up really enjoying it.
Definitely one for the romantics among you...or those on a first date.

Hangover part 3 is well worth the watch, went last Monday. If you watch it dont leave straight away as there is a bit right at the end which most people think is the best bit, when i went nearly half the cinema had cleared and missed it. Great all the way through, wasn't a massive fan of part 2, but this one i would recommend

Look out for Take this Waltz....I think you would enjoy it.
This weeks choice was "Snitch" or the Great Gatsby....we went for the former. A bit predictable but I did enjoy it....good action no nonsense dont have to think too much plot.

Maybe as i didn't expect as much, as with most movies if you go in thinking it will be better then the original then you will always be dissapointed. I didn't think it was predictable which sequels usually are and it was funny and different to the others.
I just think if you like the original and you dont have the same expectations then you would like the 3rd one

Ah, don't mean to put a downer on it. A lot of people like it more than me! There's A LOT to like in there, Krypton, some of the Superman stunts, I really enjoy the Terrence Malick elements. If only they weren't in such a rush to blow stuff up.

Anything to do with superhero films and i'm all over it , shame is i'm more excited about it than my kids!
This weeks offering was Will Smith's "After Earth" first 10 or 15 minutes are instantly forgettable,but I found myself warming to the film towards the end....one or two too many Americanisms for me though.....teenagers will love it no doubt.
Saw After Earth this week. Easy on the eye and brain. Agree that the father's pride/patriotism was cheesy but that's kinda what you can expect with a Will Smith film these days. 7/10
Saw 'The Purge' and 'The Great Gatsby' last week. The former had an interesting idea and the first half/three-quarters were fairly tense and built up well, but was a little predictable. However, after that point it became a bit too gun-toting really which dampened the atmosphere and the twist towards the end was way too predictable. Reckon they could have done a lot more with it and made it really gripping, it was also quite short, would like to see the same idea with more than one story and people of less wealthy backgrounds. 7/10
The latter, Gatsby, I hated the style, with its over-saturated contrast boosted looked, the first thirty minutes i thought it was gunna give me a migraine, but it improved. Dicaprio was predictably good, and Tobey Maguire was alright I guess but I feel like the best parts about it were the story, which had nothing to do with the film. 5/10
