Southampton v Charlton - Match thread

Can't see a single thread about it.

Has it been called off or does nobody care?

Can only see one result myself and unfortunately it's not an away win.

Anyone got any idea what sort of team we'll be putting out.

Fair play to the 500 going - I salute you!!

  • Congratulations - you have started the match preview thread!
  • i think it'll be a close game and we go out on penalties......
  • and 500 fans is superb for us
  • can we draw and have a replay or is that not possible? extra time and penalties?
  • 90 mins, no ET, penalties if drawn, Suzi
  • not even extra time. Straight to pens I think.

Watching it on TV with the rest of the Bromley Addicks committee.

Would quite like a penalty shoot out TBH.

I don't think a replay happens and whether it goes penalties (noe ET) we will still either win or lose.

Unless your Jose Mourinho of course.

    Well i think 2-0 CAFC
  • Bryan Hughes can score the winning penalty for us.

It'll be just like the good old days.

    ;o)
  • I am hopeful of a win - they are more interested in consolidating their league position and all of our fringe players will see this as their chance to stake a claim following the shambles at he weekend.

The other semi finalists in the Southern section are MK Dons, Hereford and Norwich. I know who I'd like us to get out of them!!!! Revenge time

I'm actually looking forward to it.

    1-2
Tuna and Basey to score ours
Adam the Llama (Lallana) to score theirs - first goal

  • I think we'll thrash them, the team owe some very good performances and tonight would be a good time for them to start. I think we'll win 3-1
  • does the result really matter?

Best chance we have got to get to see out boys at Wembley for a while!
  • I think every result matters even if i'm having a kick about in the park
  • YES big confidence booster or highly demaging

    awesome, feel very honoured!

personally I think Pardew will have the Saints well up for this and given our away form - no win since August? – a backs to the wall draw and victory on pens is the best we could hope for

It may be disloyal but I've had fair bet on them as I thought the price was very generous

Same here, time to concentrate on the league.
  • At least the F A have banned McLeod even if we didn't.

I could never bet against my team. You should be ashamed :-)
  • I fancy our chances more now McLeod has been banned for 3 games

  • Can't see anything but a home win...no need for pens
  • I really dont know depends on team, for that reason im going to be pesimistic(for a change) and we will lose. but have not put us to lose at all this season so hopefully the lads can prove me wrong :-)

Uncle, I'm with you 100% on that one.

You play to win, regardless of standard....... not hiding or fannying around because you can't be arsed.
  • give Mooney a start, it can't be any worse than our recent efforts
  • to say 'does it matter' is ridiculous. Of course it matters. Maybe not in the context of the competition but our season could hinge on the next two or three games and a win even in the JPT may, hopefully, restore a bit of confidence and provide a timely boost before Saturday's important encounter.
  • [cite]Posted By: cfgs[/cite]give Mooney a start, it can't be any worse than our recent efforts

    Agreed.

And nows the time to get Burton mended properly - we've had more than a month of a half-paced, half-fit player.
Surely, not getting him sorted means we're shortchanging ourselves every game now.

Also, let's hope McKenzie is fit enough to make a major contribution.
  • Our Wembley dream ends tonight.
  • I think we will lose to a three goal spanking.
  • Would like a win but if were going out dont drag it to ET or penalties like we usually do, i have to get up early!!
  • Fearful of tonight to be honest. I just think it has come too soon after Sunday.

Of course i want us to win, but i have no interest in this competition whatsoever and the performance and attitude is a lot more important than the result to me. Southampton are coming strong, and i think will be too strong for us on the night, but i want to see an improved performance and no injuries.
