Composure on the ball, creativity, vision, attacking nous, flair - you can excuse the complete absence of these seeing as we are being managed/coached by a couple of defensive midfielders & a right back.
Where is the defensive organisation, fight, passion, grit & effort though.

What was the game plan before the soft goal? hold on for 90 minutes, or all stick a couple grand on a soton win?
I'm guessing keep it tight and tough to break down, try and keep as much possession as we can and frustrate the crowd, midway through the 2nd half bring out the 2nd striker and up the ante attacking wise.
Fact is though we haven't kept it tight and haven't been tough to break down, but without one lapse we would have achieved that.
Bottom line though is this is no different to most disappointing games last season, is it ?
Basey is having an absolute nightmare. Shows how much we depend on the 11 players that started the season; our squad is really very weak behind those players. Youga has to go back to LB, but then who can we put in as RB?
+ Mooney is too isolated and receiving poor distribution
+ Shelvey is not playing as a split striker, but instead a third centre mid. Despite this, they are bossing midfield
+ Neither Sam or Wagstaff out wide have been in the game enough
+ When we do have the ball, we are not retaining it
+ Youga was caught napping for the goal, but has done a decent job on Lallana. However a left back at right back and a right mid at left mid gives poor balance
+ Ikeme has made a couple of fumbles, but it is raining quite hard
+ Llera looks odd without the rugby hat
+ Basey looks a bit below this level
+ No real chances created by us. No real attacking threat whatsoever
I can see what parky was trying to do, a 4 2 3 1 but Spring and Semedo can never be a pairing, Waggy showing hes not ready for starting place, and yet again a striker on his own who can't play that role. Mistake not to have one of the dropped Semedo or Bailey in the 16 too IMHO.
Not sure what they were doing for the goal, marking men and ignoring the ball?
Sadly I think we are seeing the limitations of Parky and or our squad, coming to the surface
2nd half bring on mckenzie for Spring or maybe waggy and drop Shelvey back a bit. You could even consider putting youga on the left side with semedo dropping back to right back
The only positive........Llera no longer seems to have tights on. Perhaps he was taking them off when he should have been marking Thomas for the goal.
Made no comment after Sunday, I have really tried to stick with them this year. My faith is vanishing, I really fear for us. We are a ship without a rudder, soon to be floundering on the rocks.
We can hammer Parky all we like but this group of players need to take a good look at themselves. They look to me like they don't care. This really is de ja vu from last season.

Its very poor.
No fight, no passing, no tactics, we will drop like a stone - the season is over already.
I can't believe I just said that - but I saw this all last season.
It's the hope that kills you.
PLEASE LADS PROVE ME WRONG!
Spring is sooo invisible its a joke
Even with Southampton stopping after 90mins!!!!
Where is the defensive organisation, fight, passion, grit & effort though.
It's a feckin' shambles out there!
Mooney upfront on his own is pointless unless the midfield are going to support him.
I'm not even sure that's a positive on this showing - we're on relegation form at the moment, and this sort of perfomance shows it...
hope we pick it up saturday, BIG TIME.
What a disgrace. Someone tell them to get on the coach now and stop wasting everybody's time
I have a good idea why he's playing what I am less sure of is where he's playing ?

I think we're pretty luck to not be atleast 2 or 3 down.
