fulham in europe

edited November 2009 in General Charlton
Just got back to my hotel from the English pub in Frankfurt and watching the scousers v Lyon on telly.

They just mentioned that Fulham European game will also be televised.

Maybe it's because I've had a few beers but is anyone else also pissed off that these west london tossers are in Europe and we never made it?

Bloody Scott Parker - you can never tell but we could have bloody got there that season - reminds me why I can't stand Chelski - took our best player that season because we threatened to make it - bollocks, very depressing.

Bloody Fulham - I can't believe they are doing what should have been us a few years ago.

Rant over - I'm going down the Irish bar to see the rest of the game.

  • Not really bothered

I say good luck to them
  • Fulham..... a surprise nomination in my 5 most hated clubs.
  • i am sure their fans would rather be slugging it out at the top of the 3rd division though
  • kills me as well, my dad said if we eve make it to europe he will pay for the whole family to go, long wait I reckon.....

we would have coasted int o europe with parker, we looked dynamite, a proper force, Curbs had constructed a very good team.... and then the heart and back bone got ripped out .......

    so disapointing.....
  • Fulham are a Team made up of Curbs rejects - Paintsil, Konchesky, Murphy and Zamora. Hodgson's doing a very good job with them imho.
  • Fulham. Dont get me started. When Al Feckhead bought em, what did he do? upgrade the standing areas in his toilet of a ground ? Of course not, he got a special dispensation which allowed him to invest in his team instead.

What did we get when we got back to the Valley, restrictions, regulations, oh no, NO standing for you CAFC....... you just get your ground all seated, you've got feck all money but you just get on with the low capacity. It's suprising we got where we did in the end !

being in europe would mean we would have less chance of winning those games than we have now at winning games in the JPT , so where's the fun in that??....
so i'm glad we have more chance of beating the teams in this league than we did in the premiership .... so i'm just enjoying us winning again .... we should be happy with us being second in division 3

Agree with that. So why take it out on Fulham? Its Chelsea and Abramovic you want to go for.

its also interesting to see how Roy Hodgson gets performances out of Konchesky and Murphy.

    :-) humour's lost on here.

not really, he's been saying the same thing for the last few years so the joke kind of wears off. grates in fact.
  • Man, I'd love to have had a game at the Olympico.

Fulham have, since big Al stopped throwing cash into them and Woy got them sorted out, are running with the same kind of efficiency as Curbs had us operating with. Playing pretty good football as far as I can gather too (though it's tough to tell as they seem to have got our old slot at the arse end of MOTD).
  • Na Fulham are ok as a club their fans ar mostly tourists anyway and chineese people so they are an inoffensive club. and good luck to them really clearly we were never good enough to get into europe so theres no need to be bitter about their accomplishments thir english and in europe good luck to them.
  • Roy Hodgson is a miracle worker with what he's done there
  • regardless of whether Parker left or not we were just unlucky not to get to experience European football

we finished 7th in 03-04 and got nothing

Fulham finished 7th last season and qualified for this Europa League

    lmfao!

    some people are so touchy
  • Bad penalty miss by Danny Murphy.

If ever there was any doubt that Michel Platini hates English clubs, he's just come off the bench for CSKA against Fulham!
  • And they have qualified
good luck to them , they have got a superb manager in roy hodgson

  • well done fulham,no longer a poxy club.
  • So could have been us, in 04.......

Oh well..... maybe we will get our chance again......

all it takes is a proper manager....
  • They're now level on aggregate with Juve, playing with an extra man, and bossing the game. 40 minutes or so left plus extra time if needed. Fair play to them
  • even they can get noticed in the prem
  • is it on the box?
  • weird that it was a teatime kick off, wonder why that was
  • [cite]Posted By: ads[/cite]weird that it was a teatime kick off, wonder why that was
Telly people dictated it. God knows WHAT telly people though - as I've got every digital channel known to man and I can't find it anywhere!
  • [cite]Posted By: ads[/cite]weird that it was a teatime kick off, wonder why that was

TV. Means they can show Fulham and then Liverpool or Juve and then another match. There's always been at least one or two matches at tea time this year. Probably part of the great plan

It's on the box somewhere, but I don't know where. ITV4 are showing Bremen v Valencia, which is a decent game too
  • Gordon Benett! Fulham are winning!
