Pardew got him in so you can take a stab at what he is earning when you consider Christensen and Moutouakil came in at the same time.
If we go up then perhaps we can afford him but otherwise he'll be on his way although that said other clubs are also feeling the financial pinch so he might just think better the devil you know.
Was he not signed on a 4 year deal so he has one more year?
I really hope he gets POTY, been the most consistent performer imho and would also hope he stays. I personally think losing Semedo could be a bigger blow than losing Bailey or Racon in midfield
One thing I have noticed is he now keeps his passing simple almost all the time. In his first season he would try spreading the ball out wide, sometimes it was good but he couldn't do it consistently. Not sure if that's down to him or Parky and the coaches.

or maybe he read my comment about keeping it simple :-)
Interestingly, well to me anyway, he was signed as a defender - centre half I think.. One of the few occaisions where Pards made a good call, turningnhim into a defensive midfielder
never been a fan of his but he has been brilliant in recent games , he breaks the game up so well and his simple passes have been effective
he cannot strike a ball towards goal for his life , not sure if i've ever seen anyone with as poor a shot as him, when the ball drops to him on the edge of the box i cringe immediately ... maybe akpo

I've said many times - leave the shooting for other players. This is certainly not one of his strengths! Much like Makelele
I voted for him POTY in his first season when we signed him. Always liked him, he likes us, he's got a song about him. Hope he doesn't get booked against Southampton and I hope he is playing for us in the Championship next season ;-)
Really don't see that we need him as a dedicated defensive midfielder at this level particularly at home, would far rather him at left back or even central defence although its pretty late in the season to try him there.
I think this has been one of the defining issues of Parkys reign - his inability to get the team playing incisively in attack, due to overkill in this department, which has meant we find it hard to score.

Spot on. he's more like a 5th defender and it's no surprise we don't create much with him in the side. People say "usual solid Semedo" week after week but what that means is he's fouled a few people, won three or four tackles and wandered around just in front of our back four for most of the game. Watch him when we've had a break away, he'll be in the centre circle with his hands on his hips having a blow. Has anyone ever seen him sprint?
An OK player at best. I can't believe how some people get so excited about him. He might stop us losing a game but won't be the reason for us winning one. (by that I mean he doesn't have a trick, he can't shoot, he can't pick out a killer ball, he has no pace and can't beat an opponent)

I have to disagree with this, we can't win a game without the ball, he breaks down moves and wins the ball back. At home to Leyton Orient when 1-0 down we were chasing the game, brought Jose off for an attacking midfielder, we didn't create much after that as we were overun in midfield.

Should we line up without a goalie next match then?
