[cite]Posted By: J BLOCK joe[/cite]surely that would mean they have money TO spend?
I think more likely as a consequence they'll be selling players and not investing several million in an undoubtedly very talented young player who'll sit in their reserves for most of next year.
[cite]Posted By: PragueAddick[/cite]Now a complication is the current refusal of banks to do what they are supposed to do. (lend) But I'd want to have a better idea of the P&L numbers before I capitulate. And while we have let 30 people go, we still have a CEO, AND an MD, AND a CFO. So there are still costs to be cut in other areas.
This I agree with and have said so elsewhere. I want to see a cogent plan that puts at it's core finances skewed towards the playing side of the club. After all we could have the worlds greatest company brains but its a football club first and foremost and that has to take priority over bean counters and swivel chairs. I have a reasonable expectation, with some Directors having to use pension trust and foundation trust moneys, coupled with extra loans and interest payment holidays, all to keep the club afloat, that all costs will be under review.
I'm pretty effing angry about this at the moment to be honest. I think Parky has effed up big time and I am really at a loss to explain how he got so little exposure to our first team this season. And now we are a player down for the play-offs, a player who could have played a major part in them. Parky has handled this so badly in my opinion that I am more peeved off with him than ever before. Jonjo has been let down by Parky and I am finding it very difficult to forgive him for that. Thanks Parky for nothing.
BTW, good luck Jonjo you deserved much, much better.

I think it is evident that Parky was under orders not to play Jonjo so as not to scupper the deal.

Well he should have the balls to say he wasnt allowed to pick his best players instead of letting the team suffer and the fans suffer.

I see we're trying to establish a development link between the two clubs as well. Hopefully we can get just as much out of this one as we did with Valencia / Inter Milan. What a load of tosh.

the reason as I see it is because he doesn't know where to play Jonjo and didn't have the balls to break up the Semedo/Racon partnership that is so attack minded.
Apart from the fact that it's coming from the horse's mouth here (or at least close to it), it's pretty evident that a player Liverpool deem good enough for them wasn't good enough for Parky. He gave him appearances from the bench, which suggests that he could have played him. Hopefully some of those that defend Parkinson's "performance" so passionately will start looking at the with-hindsight evidence that is building up.
People do realise Jonjo has probably had a say in this as well?
We're not in the same league as Liverpool anymore despite how many people still seem to live in that world.
We're skint.
We need money.
We sell a saleable asset.
I think thats what it boils down to.
Whether Parky plays him or not is and the reasons behind it are something we'll never know unless we get uncle really drunk.
We're a third tier club, we have third tier players, we have a great academy that produces players which keeps this club going. That's where we are. For now.
well lets all have a cry and blame parky as usual...
this money may well mean that the doors are even open next season, he didnt pull up any trees for us the last batch of games, prob due to being better than everyone else, or fed up with the whole situation, who knows...
but sorry carry on keep blaming Parkinson.. sorry to interupt...
Oh hang on Ive had a good idea why dont we boo Parky for the next game see if we can get him to manage better, hopefully thatll get us promoted...

Not sure i get that staement Large. How you can call any two man midfield with Semedo (0 assists and 1 goal) in it attack minded beats me. Bailey/Racon Bailey/Shelvey yes.

Perhaps some of you who booed Shelvey at every oppurtunity may have something to do with Shelvey wanting to go as well. It seems to me many Charlton fans did not think him good enough to play for the team so getting £1.7 rising to £3 million is good buisness. In fact we have to accept we are a 3rd division club on are uppers and must get what we can for are good players to keep the club going. Charlton is going to be a selling club for quite a few years to come.

Fair enough uncle.
That makes it even worse!!
