Goonerhater sorry I can't quite follow your post...explain what you mean mate...ta.
In reference to Sheffield Uniteds fans and their opinions on Matthew Spring coming to us, I say Sheffield United fans know a thing or two about relegation, they have had enough experience at it after all, last time out in the Prem they had to go to court to stay up because they weren't good enough on the pitch! (even though I strongly abhor the way Wet Spam Untied got away with it)
[cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]some people have a negative, giving up mentality Oggy. Rather accept the worst than fight for a chance.
Losers will always be losers, you can't change them.
Surely you are one of those!
Ha, you must be joking.I was only being semi serious and hoping someone might bite !
I'll still be wanting us to fight till its mathmatically impossible for us. I'm not pleased with the way certain things have been allowed to happen, but its all very much about the here and now, we can revisit other things later, and i think we have a fighting chance and i'll be backing everyone all the way.
There's a wind of change going on, there's new blood coming in - and people are picking up on a new energy rising.
People are doing what they can, they are giving this relegation dogfight their best shot.
Back on topic, this guy is ringing a loud bell now - the Luton fan I met at New Year was bemoaning the fact that their best players had to be loaned out - Spring was the one he mentioned.
The one drawback is that it maybe puts Shelvey back down the pecking order, doesn't it? Or is the inevitable going to happen there, and we're preparing for it already??
Happy with this. Hard working player who scores a few goals and can tackle. Don't care what Sheff Utd fans say I am 100% confident he will be better than most of the dross Pardew bought in.
[cite]Posted By: Oggy Red[/cite]GH ....... it's not about the old rosy specs.

Please don't piss on our parade.
just like Gillespie and Burton made a difference eh ? I'll reserve judgement. It's gonna need a few wins and quickly to convince me.

Well there is the little matter of your prediction of 54 pts, Bart ! Two more than even the estimable SuziSausage went for. But you still aren't top of the rosy league - someone has us down to get 61 pts!. Don't think it was Oggy, either...
He's arrived on loan and will sign an eighteen month contract. He becomes our third signing! along with Murty (loan) and Burton, who we've had since before the window opened.

Perhaps we should rename this board 'Anti-Charlton Life'?
Or yesterday somebody asked in fun when the first Charlton Life suicide was going to happen....(!)
I'm up for the battle ahead, bring it on, what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger, and I certainly aint one of the rose tinted happy clappers by a long chalk.
Charlton completed their third signing of the January transfer window on Friday afternoon when goalscoring Matthew Spring joined the Addicks from Luton Town.
The central midfielder, who has so far spent the season on loan with Championship club Sheffield United, arrives at The Valley for an undisclosed fee.
He has signed an 18-month deal, but Spring's recruitment is initially on loan to enable him to be eligible for Saturday's match against Nottingham Forest (3pm).
"We're really pleased to get Matty on a permanent signing," said Parkinson, who confirmed that Spring would go straight into his squad for the fixture against Forest.
Matt Spring could make his Addicks debut against Nottingham Forest on Saturday
"He's a quality footballer and an experienced player. I've said that there is a certain category of player we're looking for, ones with Championship experience, and Matty fits the bill.
"He's also got a good range of passing, so he adds something different to the midfield, and we're looking forward to working with him."
After taking Graeme Murty from Reading for a month three days earlier, Parkinson moved swiftly to recruit Spring.
The 29-year-old's loan was first curtailed in Yorkshire, and then the transfer from the Hatters was completed.
Added Parkinson: "It's been quite a complicated deal, and there's been a lot of hard work behind the scenes, talking to the player, to Sheffield United and Luton.
"These deals are never as straightforward as they look, and I know [chief executive] Steve Waggott has worked exceptionally hard to make it happen, so I thank him for that."
Harlow-born Spring made 13 appearances during his time with the Blades, scoring once in a 3-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in November.
His last action for United came in a 1-1 draw at Swansea City on December 13th, and he will be eligible to play for Charlton in the FA Cup, having not featured in the competition this season.
The 29-year-old scored against Charlton last term, netting with a thumping header when the Addicks suffered a 3-1 extra-time loss at the hands of Luton in the third round of the Carling Cup at Kenilworth Road.
And, with Nicky Bailey suspended for the match against Forest, Spring could be in line to make a dramatic debut for the Addicks this weekend.
Spring started his career at Luton, making his debut as a half-time substitute in a 3-0 loss to Bristol City on September 27th, 1997.
He went onto make 12 further appearances that season, establishing himself as a regular the following campaign.
In total, he made 289 appearances for the Hatters, scoring 30 goals, before moving to Kevin Blackwell's Leeds United on a free transfer at the start of the 2004/05 season.
However, Spring struggled with injuries during his time at Elland Road and played just 15 times for the Yorkshire outfit before teaming up with Aidy Boothroyd at Watford in August 2006.
He scored on his Hornets debut, coming off the substitutes' bench to notch in a 3-1 victory over Burnley, and had bagged a further eight goals from central midfield by the time Watford secured promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
Spring made just two starts during Watford's top-flight campaign, though, and returned to Luton in the 2007 January transfer window.
A year and a half later, Blackwell - now boss of Sheffield United - moved for Spring's services again by signing him on loan, but the ace has now returned south to link up with Parkinson as the Addicks bid to maintain their Championship status.
Spring becomes the third signing by Parkinson in January following the move for Murty, with Deon Burton's loan switch from Sheffield Wednesday having become permanent at the start of the month.
He's arrived on loan and will sign an eighteen month contract. He becomes our third signing! along with Murty (loan) and Burton, who we've had since before the window opened.
So! that's three of the four then !!!!!!!!!
Just Brown and Stern John to sign then and we are done (other than shipping a few more out I reckon)

You jest about Stern John but i actually wouldn't have minded signing him!

No winger considering Parkinson didn't expect or want Bouazza to leave?
Good signing imo. Racon and ZZ both not fit, with the latter looking set to leave. Leaves us Bailey, Semedo, Holland, JJ and Wright, plus Ambrose who can also play there, again looking to be off, and Basey.

LOSERS they are the players and management of which PARKY was one that put us adrift at the bottom of this league.
Saying things are "fun" and the corner is about to be turned 15 games on the f**KIN trot dont make you a WINNER.

You've clearly not read anything i've wrote over the last couple of months.

Or written even...!!
