9.45 Sat morning : down here on the Kent/Sussex border it is the coldest morning we have had in the entire last week of freezing weather. Everything - literally everything - is white with frost, although the sky is clear and the sun is just starting to break through the mist.
It's stunningly beautiful. But sod Wordsworth. It's Saturday which is a day for footie, not for poetry. What's it like up there in SE7?
Need to py me to watch that load of tripe...mind you it has 'marginaly' improved since that wassock...(oh what was his name, you know the bloke who thought he was another Johnny Vaughan).......left! God how he used to make me cringe with embarrassment!
My snout at the ground tells me it is all hands to the pump.
Apparently Martin Christensen is revving his Mercedes Convertible by the side of the pitch so that the exhaust billows under the blankets and helps warm up the pitch. Bless him.
As previously stated "soil temperature is usually 3 degrees below that of air temperature." The forecast says that its going to be 0 degrees this afternoon so surely the pitch will start to freeze again during the warm ups/game as the heaters wont be on it? But then again Im not a buff on the thermal retention qualities of soil.

Should be on. One part of the pitch froze overnight, but they have heaters on it apparently.

Well, it is a bit chilly......
;o)
QPR and Fulham are still on and I doubt they've got undersoil heating.
Match referee Andy Woolmer praised the Addicks groundstaff after examining the pitch on his arrival at the ground on Saturday.
Despite some media reports to the contrary, Charlton's match against Nottingham Forest (3pm) is definitely on.
Said Woolmer: "The pitch is in fantastic condition, and is testament to the hard work of the ground staff.
EDIT: Addick Addict's post wasn't there when I started typing - honest!
