  • [cite]Posted By: nigel w[/cite]Yes, so where is the tent? Pic on the O/S looks like the pitch is covered by a load of army blankets left over from WW2.

    the tent is elsewhere.

The pitch is currently covered in covers that are not adequate for the current weather or the expected weather.

I would not be suprised if some question how much effort is being made to ensure the game goes ahead, give it was known what the weather was expected to be like all week.
  • Meant to get warmer over the next couple of days though isnt it? Was certainly warmer this morning....
  • 'the tent is elsewhere. '

where they havnt sold it have they lol

really would not be suprised if they sold The Valley if we went down :-(
  • Have we ordered the pies?
  • wasnt there a whale too?

I hear its a big sheet now, not a clean one though...
  • Hilarious thread. If we hadn't become two bob or weren't bottom of the league, none of this would matter but having an inflatable dome with a puncture & the only company who can repair it have gone belly up has really tickled me. I just have this vision of one the yoof team being sent to a local bike shop for a job lot of puncture repair kits & then them all having a go, trying to repair it. With it evident that it's not doing the job, Paddy Powell sends the same yoof down to Mad Mikes in Lee for all his available WW2 blankets.
  • We don't own the tent, we loaned it didn't we?
  • all we need now is too see a ghost of Benny Hill running around The Valley its getting farsical each day !
  • [cite]Posted By: Rothko[/cite]We don't own the tent, we loaned it didn't we?

The girls guides need it and it had to go back.
  • If the game is called off, I take it we'd have to refund all the Forrest (& Charlton) fans who couldn't make the re-arranged date.

Could run into a few quid if half their fans couldn't make it.

Herd that strange lights were seen over The Valley last night and it is thought that a UFO made off with our tent.

Herd that they are looking for the UFO that made off with with the wind turbine blade. They are asking for people to ring in if they see this UFO it flyies at night--makes lots of noise and has flashing lights which look similar to the flowing M--E--T P--o--L--I---C--E.

Met Police are also on the case as they take anyone carrying a blade a serious even if from Mars.

Trigger up front, that would definitely be worth seeing, cant be much worse than what we already have!
  • I love the fact that Traore keeps his place!
  • [cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]what happened to the big tent filled with hot air ??

They use that thing over at the training ground. It's been lit up every night this week (my flat overlooks Sparrows Lane).

I reckon the team are all hard at work, training every hour god sends for the biggest game of the season.

    *cough*
  • Herd Parky sent the first team out to inspect the pitch, they came back 3 times but eventually to their surprise it was green.

  • Switch the game to Sparrows Lane and we'll all watch if from yours, P-Air?
  • I thought the one at Sparrows lane was an inflatable indoor football court.

What was the name of the inflatable pitch cover ? began with X ?

    The circus is in town
  • Well, all I can say is thanks a lot guys - all those of you who now seem to know that the the tent is torn/ useless/ on loan. We've committed to £200 on flights etc to show our support, and now this.

Not only that, but I'm also getting the blame :-(

And Ketman, it is the club's fault if they've not made adequate precautions. Should get used to us acting like a non-league club, I guess - we'll be one soon enough at this rate!!!

The weather is meant to be getting warmer from Friday night isn't it????
  • I smell a postponement conspiracy...how long before Racon & ZZ are back?...LOL

It is a lot warmer today and in the Bromley, Bickley area (c 8 miles from The Valley) the ice has virtually disappeared.

  • No offence Weeg but my heart sunk when you said you booked your flights! :-(
  • Weegie, no problem Albion Rovers are at Annan Athletic on Saturday. get the bus from Big Owens at 8am :o)

Can you hire cold air blowers?
  • When I were a lad we played when ground were like concrete with housebricks sticking out of it. And snow, we used to plough through 3 foot of snow with t' ball and smack it into net from 30 yards. No boots mind,we 'ad rags tied round our feet. Pansy footballers these days, don't know they're born. Tents were for them as could afford a bit more than a cardboard box.
