AFKA, I'm not saying the whole board is full of it - yes, there's the stickies and Suzi and Oggy's admirable optimism.
But it's seeing the board full of posts like this...

well i liked the premiership and too many people focused on the good points of the championship and look where we've ended up ... anyway division one has some lovely grounds.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
...which just chips away at me. I can't think of anywhere else where "rose-tinted" has become a term of abuse.
i'm making a light hearted point about how we tried to be optimistic about our fall from the prem, sorry it doesn't pander to your requirements for a witty post
Blimey, it's a good job it's the season of goodwill to all men at the moment and we're all being tolerant with each other - I'd hate to see this thread if it had all kicked off in the summer!!!
Come on folks, have a beer, take a few deep breaths, eat some turkey sandwiches and a mince pie. There you go, feeling better now?
Personally I think the best rule of thumb is if you can't say something positive, then don't bother.
What's the point in stating the obvious at the moment.
I like Suzi's idea - turn the computer off. Leave the doom and gloom to 90 mintues on a Saturday then get back to your life.
I saw Fulham play the other day and it was such an eye opener. They play a tight, defensive game and I found myself really enjoying it. Remember when we got so bored with that.... .....oh for some organisation now
Back from getting a life via a bracing three hour walk across the Ashdown Forest and just read Valley 11's advice to anyone who wants to moan:
"I like Suzi's idea - turn the computer off."
I don't want to be provocative here, but it struck me there's another approach, which is that anyone who doesn't want to read us doomsters expressing our concerns about Charlton's current nightmare can also avoid doing so by the simple expedient of using the off-button themselves!
My respects to both the Charlton cheerful and the Addickted afflicted. Personally I'm with the latter, but I wish a very happy New Year to each and every one of either disposition. 2009 can only be better than the anus horibilis we've just had. Can't it?
got back from the dogs, saw a lot of old charlton faces down there (if you know what i mean) the talk was where are we going in the 1st round of next years f.a. cup.As it's a tradition to go to the away fixture in the f.a. cup
I have just read this thread (have been away) and I have never laughed so much in my entire life. Great comedy lads and lasses, keep it up. Oh sorry, you are all having a bit of fun or have I picked up the wrong vibe man.
and to Mr AFKABartram, for one who constantly bangs on about this forum not decending into the farce that was Net Addicks, Congratulations, infact congratulations all round. I'm sure you are all feeling a great pride at having got it off your collective chests and no doubt are whistling a happy tune as you walk down the street.

I do wonder what some people are on sometimes, honestly I do.
