had a call from someone at The Valley and it has definately happened. I just hope Parky doesn't get it on a regular basis, he's been coach for this whole debacle and should go as well. Should have appointed Kins or Keithy P for two games, someone we could identify with and rally round and get behind. Parky is tainted by Pards ineptitude.
I think I rather agree with that Large. Sorry, but Parky is tainted (isn't he the man in charge of training on set pieces???)
I know Keith Peacock does not want the job but I'm sure he would have done it for a handful of games and he would have rallied everybody. The man virtually is Charlton in my book - he scored in the first game I saw 42 years ago !!!
The next manager has to be someone from outside the club - someone with a fresh, new perspective who can come in, spend a few weeks looking at the players and then be able to assess who stays & who goes before the january window opens.
Alan Pardew has left his position as Charlton manager by mutual consent, the club announced on Saturday night.
Richard Murray, chairman of the football club board, said: "On reflection of results so far this season, and looking at the future challenges for the remainder of the campaign, it was agreed by both parties that Alan would leave the club with immediate effect.”
The end of Pardew's 23-month reign at The Valley came after the Addicks, without a win in eight matches, slipped into the bottom three of the Championship following a 5-2 home defeat to Sheffield United.
Phil Parkinson, previously assistant manager, will act as Charlton caretaker-manager and will take charge of the Addicks for the first time against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Tuesday night.
Pardew was appointed Charlton manager in December 2006, succeeding Les Reed, when the then Premier League club faced a battle to stay in the top flight, but was unable to prevent relegation.
No further statement will be issued by the club at this time.

How much control he has over what the squad/team do whilst under Pardew's overall control is something none of us know...
Give the guy a chance.
