Mascot ...... the players played with commitment and effort against Argyle.

No evidence that Pards has lost the dressing room.

Did you put the frighteners on him?..

I did consider making a call to my 'friends' in Hereford...but thought better of it.......LOL!

Good turnout, well done B. I thought that upstairs what the bar staff lacked in quantity was made up in quality.

Apart from the peanut episode, she actually done a pretty good job serving wise considering she was on her own.

sounds like I missed a really good night although the lack of peanuts sounds a problem ; - )

Any more gossip. Did no one give David White a hard time about the fans' forum.

Curb - it, should have got Elliot and Wagstaff down. One orange juice and then a pint of water. cheap as chips!

Dont think the fans forum got mentioned.

Who was the tall bloke across the room leaning over the glass. Reveal yourself.

You obviously missed me then B, as I always try to chip in & buy the guests a drink or two. Hopefully I'll be able to make the next one. I was gutted to miss this one.

Blimey Large, have you seen how much David White drinks? It's going to be at least £5 a head just to cover his drinks bill!! LOL.

Apart from the Blog report posted, most people who went appear to be coy about reporting what was said. For the benefit of those of us who couldn't get to City Addicks even if they wanted to, can you expand on what has been said without breaching confidences?

    1. Given the favourable fallout from the Zabeel deal, did RM give the impression that other investors were in the pipeline?

    2. What can be shared about the further insights into the Dowie/Reed fiasco?

    3. What more did he say about the "etcyt" episode with Tangoman?

    4. Any other titbits?

He said if people wanted to know what was said they should turn up.

I think his tongue was planted firmly in his cheek at the time

I thought that the fact that Les Reed was always a caretaker manager and was never given the role of Full time manager was interesting. It also appears the Dowie fiasco was a culmination of events but I think he inferred the court case was still going on.

That Les Reed thing is a shock, he certainly was presented as a Manager in the media as I recall.

    Couple of points,

Bing, people are coy for a couple of reasons. These evenings give you a fantastic insight into the club, how it is run, and more importantly the 'real' people that run them. Its only when you are chatting with the chairman you remember he is just as much a 'fan' as me and you. In the case of last night, RIchard made the point of stating he understands stuff will filter back on the internet etc that is natural, but he would like to think that anything he said what people deemed as confidential, would stay in the room. Its just common sense stuff really.

Reason being if the mainline press picked up and rehashed some of the things said, it would probably mean the end to these type of meetings because guests would feel extremely apprehensive about speaking openly, or would only talk in a way that if it was later wrote down, could not be manipulated, which would be a massive shame.

Secondly, more ale is consumed at the city addicks q+a than possibly all the other q+a's. I find it very hard the next day to accurately remember what is said, and i'm sure there are many others in the same boat !

What did we learn ? Little new that was not already out there to be honest. Can assure you there were no nuggets of gossip that people are keeping quiet on. But its an extremely worthwhile exercise into getting a bit more insight into the club, and by learning the characters of the people behind it.

AFKA and I likened these events to seeing a comedian last night, you'd tell your friends you had a wicked night and it was super funny, the second they ask you to tell them a joke you can't remember a thing!
For the record it was a wicked night! Cheers again Curb_it and let it be known Mr White did recieve a drink from myself albeit only a half :o)!

Thanks AFKA. I wish I could get to some of these but it's hard enough getting a pass to go to matches let alone to these kind of events, and then getting back to Norwich afterwards.

I do think that it's absolutely brilliant that directors like Richard are prepared to come along and put their "c*cks on the block" in this way. I can't think of any other clubs where this would happen in this way on a regular basis. It's also a credit to people that go that they don't broadcast the confidential info.

Well done to Curb-it for organising it. A very good turn out as well by all accounts.

It seems from the comments shared about the Zabeel deal, that we created a very good impression with them and thus hopefully this will stand us in good stead. It also shows to me anyway that the club has been and continues to be well run.

I have no problem with keeping some things confidential. As least there is a dialogue. Compare and contrast that with the current dialogue at Sellout Park.
  • 'twas a good night - thanks Curb_It for organising it. Can't really add much more to what's been said above, but I always leave an event with RM more enthused about Charlton than when I walked in.

And I'd also like to show my appreciation to the Jamelia-alike bar-lady. *cough*
