  • How can you be our overseas rep and not even be able to boil the kettle Tel ;-)
  • bloody hell tel you were supposed to be my feedback person
  • I've just got back from it- all i can say really is that i haven't seen a city addicks meeting so packed and that Richard oozes Charlton.

Arrived late and drove so shot off after Richard went home- Very obvious that he feels his role is reduced since the halcion days of Murray, Curbs and Varney. Some great stories which i am sure the more eloquant posters will relay far better than i can- Martin Simons was there, trying to blend into the background :-)

Anyone who doubts, or dares to suggest that RM hasn't anything less than the absolute best for CAFC should have been there- even if the bus journey from a certain steel town in the north takes some time. Then they might have either been able to voice their opinions in person or had the opportunity to hear directly from the horses mouth..

Well done Curb_it for organising as usual...
  • Cheers Stan.
Anyone throw any difficult questions his way?
  • only heard one- about lower down the management chain- as I said- i'm sure the more eloquant posters will recal it better than i could.

My impression was that Richard could have ben a very good politician......

...but he didn't dodge anything - he answered everything thrown at him apart from my question about what had happened with Randolph! He said he simply didn't know and it'd probably all come out in the next couple of days.
  • Any update on the loans?
  • Expect some tall guys (no kidding!)

The more eloquent peeps will be on in the morning with all the "can't really say too much/ that was discussed but has really to stay in the room for now!!" ;-p
  • The rest of them won't be home yet - they'll probably still carrying Dave Storry down to London Bridge ;-)

    I rest my case....
  • there you go- i said someone far more eloquant would come along with a good report...
  • As usual....thanks for organising Curb_It.

One of these days I'll actually be able to stay for a drink after instead of having to rush off...
  • I think that it was blinding of Muzza to answer those questions and well done AFKA for asking the question on Mr Pardew.

Do you know what i wouldnt mind betting that if things change in the global market that Zabeel may well come back for a second bite, as long as wea re in no worse position thatn now and who knows we may have just got someone intrested enough to have a little investment dabble themselves without buying the club.

    Well done B
  • [cite]Posted By: carly burn[/cite]Murray night.
Good to read it, but should it be reported out in the open like that?
  • As opposed as announced to a room full of strangers, any one of which could be a Journo?
  • No loans until the Sheff Utd I thought there was one 'deffo' in before the Plymouth game, 'deffo' before the Brum game. Must of got injured in reserves ehh..

Anyone ask IF we were relegated into the 3rd tier of English failure since the early 80's would this be seen as a massive failure.

How comes the club wasnt put up for sale when we were in the Premiership as this would of been the ideal time to sell the club and move the club on ?

Did he really ask for 80 million quid for the business that was reported by the BBC and did this include selling the training ground or/and The Valley.

What has happened to the new training ground in Kent what was the thinking behind this?

Can the Bartrams bar big screen be tunned in so that I dont see treble vision watching it ?

Substantial new investment would be the only way we are likely to return to the Premier League accoding to that report linked by carly burn really Hull, WBA and Stoke have done well to get promoted.

Unfortuantly I couldnt make it due to picking my misses up at the airport. Maybe Mr Chappel could answer those questions not the one about being in the Premiership as he wasnt there then.

  • Don't Hull have 'large scale investment' that we can only dream of?
  • The training ground is on hold.

Perhaps they thought with the TV money coming in during the premiership years that was enough to take us onwards and upwards? and why need help from outsiders.

On behalf of Northstandsteve I asked him to put his hand on his heart and promise that we are not going into administration if we dont get outside investment. He promised that we woudlnt. tho i dont thionk he did the hand on heart bit. (someone tell me if i cant write this).
  • I've made it members only but, and as i missed the first bit, i can't say for sure if he asked for confidences to be kept within the room, if it was can we respect this..

He said it was the usual "I'm happy to talk so long as nothing I say that's prefaced 'this goes no further' gets published". From my recollection of events, nothing has been said that shouldn't be.
  • love city addicks and really annoyed I missed this one.....

Overall did you guy leaving positive about the club or still that little bit uncomfortable.....
  • I'm gutted that I couldn't go (I'm moving places on Saturday and had to sort a few things out last night). I'm a bit worried that we're getting up to 4 more loan players in. Personally I think the squad we got is pretty decent and doesn't need that much extra to it. Also this can't do much good to the squad morale which is probably pretty low at the moment. It seems to be that Pardew is pointing his finger at everyone but himself. Speaking of which that article (which imo reveals too much) claims Pardew has got two teams promoted to the premier league, that's incorrect, Coppel got Reading promoted to the premier league with a record 106 points, Pardew got them out of the old division 2.
  • Curb_It thanks for a really great evening...I'm sure I speak for everyone in saying that...apart maybe from the fella I had a little bit of a dig at............ermmmm sorry about that Curb-It and indeed, apologies to anyone else who didn't appreciate it!!! Just the mention of Scott Parker will guarantee my blood pressure to shoot up a notch or two...I'd loved to have seen us call his bluff..........though on reflection I realise how hard that might have been.
Did anyone else spot Peter (Scoops)Burrowes lurking behind the pillar near the front to Richards left? No doubt complete with mini tape recorder concealed somewhere about his person.............Mmmmm watch this space as they say!
  • Another thing...

Did anyone mention if there's a possibility of Curbishley coming back!? There's always one!
  • 'Scoop' was hiding behind a pillar taking notes. I had a quiet word and didn't notice him jotting from then on.
  • I think the morale is fragile and I also think he has lost the players.... bringing in a whole load of strangers is not gonna be a magic fix and will split the camp IF we get some performances going....

naything for some wins.... anything for a run...

Lets see who come in.... you never know we could get a real cou (although I doubt it)
