  • [cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]Well said Pavo, a well-reasoned post

Less of that please Pavo, not what CL is for : - )

I'm still with him as much as I ever was. Was never wildly in love with him or his record when he came but not as down on him as some who were now are. He's had time to bring his own players in but still doesn't seem sure what the best XI is. Maybe the players are just too inconsistant but we can and did play good football last year and even this year so I'm not giving up yet.

Can't see him walking or the club giving him the push so for the time being it's get behind him and the team plus the occasional shout of "sort it out, Pards"
  • [quote][cite]Posted By: miserableold-ish git[/cite]Isn't there "a good tradition of love and hate" ?[/quote]

Yes Gonad, it was just called 'Good Tradition' and it was by the curiously named Tanita Tikaram.
  • I agree with you AFKA - but my confidence is starting to fade.

If he says "I need to make a couple of changes" I expect to see changes. Otherwise players get into their comfort zone
  • for me i am afraid it is a case of i want him to go ( i am not happy about this either which is pissing me off more)

but i have watched us in every home game except Reading and i have listened to 2 on the radio (with pals there saying it straight as well) that he has failed to come up with a plan to stop individuals attacking us time after time or our players being totally inept in their own positions.

He is failing to accept that his game plan is not working and is unwilling to change it early enough,

He has failed to take accountabillty for his errors during these games also

He does not see the same game as anyone who i have read posting on here as his post match interview doesnt match one that most on here have witnessed themselves.

He is wrong for allowing that performance out of any performance they put together this season to come about,

    No shots on target unacceptable

No passion within the team and failure to accept responsibility on the pitch

Unable to pass to each other with any quality in the final third or to retain the ball for any length of time

those 3 points should not happen in any game let alone against those mugs and are 3 points that the manager is solely responsible for this is my opinion and the basis that i have now lost faith in Pardew

the final 2 points above No passion and poor passing have been key features in all games i have witnessed in every game this season ( i didnt see Reading live but i watched it on TV and that game is the only one that i will say we had a fire in our bellies)

i fecking hate Pardew for making me feel this way as i beleived we had the right man in place and no one likes to be wrong but it takes a man to admit it and i hope Pardew can atleast hold himself accountable for his mistakes if he wont allow himself to walk away
  • useles ,useless, he should stop praising other teams and get his own team in order my god he irritates me with his team selections and substitutions ,he would love 2 av 11 lloyd sams they could all get tired together.
  • This is after all, a man who preferred to play Hayden Mullins instead of Mascherano at West Ham!
  • pardew is his own worst enemy.

He talks like a politician - lots of meaningless waffle and what he thinks people want to hear to make him look good.

He seems to need to be seen to be doing something all the time.

I think he comes across as arrogant but he is actually really insecure and feels that he needs to work really hard to get people to like him and that contstant team changes shows he is working hard.

I think deep down, what he really needs is a hug. Someone to tell him that it will all be okay and he just needs to relax a bit. Then it will all settle down and we will start playing well.
  • So who do you propose gives him this hug, Kigelia? I wouldn't normally volunteer, but if it's what it takes to get us into the play offs...!
  • Good girl Heather...get on the phone and make the arrangements...maybe we can get Curb it and Suzi to join in a group hug?
  • i never liked the guy. always thought he was a smug g*t with a face that needed slapping with a wet fish. however, he joined charlton and therefore had my backing - just like all the staff and players.
things looked positive when he arrived and even though we were going down i had high hopes for championship season. unfortunately we look as poor as we did in the latter part of last season. some of the team selection baffles me and comments about game plan are off the chart. and as for playing football the way its meant to be played..sh&t, how many shots did we have tuesday??

but i thinkk we are stuck with him for now. i suggest he has a change arround at the training ground and puts some more posters on the walls about how to be confident and win games.

  • What frustrates me is his teams can clearly play football when they are told to..ala games v West Ham, Stoke, Blackpool, Reading spring to mind. But for everyone of these there appear to be even more completely in-ept displays which are too long to list. He still has my support for now anyway, but I still think he is a tw*t though.

  • Worth updating this and giving it a bump.....I think watching him at close quarters last night he has finally lost me completely.....
  • he lost me ages ago

nearly, more importantly the players don't seem to be doing it for him with one or two exceptions, however I think he has most definitely lost 'the plot'!
  • I think Pardews time is almost up. I agree with the earlier comment that he talks like a politician. Action speaks louder than words. We lose far too many games at home and we have had no consistency for ages. We only won six of our final 25 league games last year. Big Sam or Billy Davies would get us pushing for promotion with the same squad, give or take a couple of changes.
  • One month on, anyone changing their minds?

Have to say I was all for keeping him but after the last few performances............

  • Once we have lost the next 2; even the board will have to start thinking...
  • why wait though fuk him off now i can not understand nor defend any different outcome the man must go
  • I crossed the rubicon today I'm afraid. After the gutless, rudderless performances of the Burnley game (Ist half especially) and the dross of the Ipswich game (at least the first 70 minutes) and then todays shambles, I just can't see how he can turn this around.

If he stays, I hope I'm wrong, and he does turn it around but there is no evidence in the last season and a half that he can.
  • Sorry I was suggesting how far from the sack he is - if it was up to me - I would have got rid some months ago.....
  • lost all faith in him now.,i think he has got 2 go.The geezer is full of sh*t.
  • Jog on Pards.
  • Well i waited and waited but now think he must go.
  • i am possibly the most optimistic charlton supporter ever but even i feel that he's got to go now. saying that though, he is a big part of the problem but some blame has to go some of the players yesterday - in all my years that was once of the worst performances i have seen, there was just no fight and they looked as though they didn't give a toss. i feel sorry for varney and gray, they get no service whatsoever from that shite midfield, how sharon and sam take a salary from that club is beyond me, they should be ashamed. pards, you did your best, but sadly its time to step down.
  • good post above agreed
  • Billy, if you're the most optimistic Charlton supporter ever, I'm second. However, I do not and cannot see how Pardew can make out that this is just one big challenge to him personally when the future of our club is at stake? Since we were relegated, he has stopped showing much emotion, just stands in the box outside the dug out with arms folded. We don't need our manager to stand there in total disbelief, we need him to be shouting at the players, sorting out new strategies, thinking of useful substitutions, generally showing some passion...
