Never ever order Burger King delivery on hungry house. They purposely fuck up your order and get away with it.

Can you actually get a Burger King from online?
    Yes mate.

    Just Eat

Twitter is the way forward with this stuff. They couldn't give a monkey's toss one to one correspondence but tweet something and you'll have refunds and compensation vouchers coming out of your ears.
I'd like to think so but I tweeted a couple of hours ago and then forwarded my tweet to them as a private message. So far, nothing.

The way that Walkers (Lays) have fooked up the internationally recognised crisp colour co-ordination scheme. Everything was well ordered and everyone knew where they stood. Now it's anarchy out there.

Is this the myth that Walkers Cheese and Onion used to be Green and Salt and Vinegar used to be blue?
No, it's the fact that before Walkers all crisps had those colours. Except for 'Freddie Bee' crisps that were striped but no-one remembers.
Walkers have been around since just after the war though, haven't they? Were all S&V blue and all C&O green before that? I'm not sure there was a dominant colour scheme back then.
For a lot of people, I think a big influence is that the main choices of crisp brand were, if memory serves, KP or Golden wonder back in the 70s and 80s. Walkers crisps just weren't the dominant brand back in my (and many others) youth, so we remember the colour schemes from that time. That became 'right' to us.
If you ask people under the age of about 30, I expect most of them will probably associate green with S&V and blue with C&O because Walkers have been the dominant brand since the 90s.

No science in this and I could be wrong, but it seems pretty clear to me.
The first flavoured crisps were produced by the Irish company Tayto. Not a lot of people know that...
A lot of Irish people in Ireland delight in telling visiting/resident English this.

The fact that an attendance figure issued by a football league club for a football league fixture is not the actual number of people who are/were inside the ground

Yep, ridiculous state of affairs. I read that Jiminez and Slater were deliberately issuing vast numbers of complimentary tickets when they were trying to sell the club, to enable them to announce higher gates, and therefore make the club look a more attractive proposition to potential buyers. Surely even someone as thick as Roland could identify in the first 5 minutes of due diligence that the figures were fictional. We are now declaring gates of 9,000 when everyone can see there's no more than 6,000 in the ground. Surely the accounts must show quite clearly that the gate receipts are for about 6,000 tickets rather than 9,000?!

Arsenal always announce sell-out crowds, and frequently have 5,000 empty seats.

On the basis that I can't believe anyone falls for it, I therefore can't understand who benefits from doing this.

It also means that you can't pass the time during another boring 1-1 draw by guessing the gate, as you'll never know what the right answer is.

I believe the police get a record of the actual turnstile count, so it's not as if the accurate figures aren't available.

I always book lounge passes for me and the good lady at Gatwick. Last years we turned up, there were no available seats. Eventually we found one seat, my good lady parked up while I went and got a meal and drinks which she proceeded to balance on her lap while I stood next to her. I found the lounge on twitter and let rip telling them what I thought and where I was in the lounge. In 10 minutes i was tweeted back to listen out for my name, which was called out on the tannoy. The rep took me outside and asked who I was flying with and escorted us to the Emirates invited only lounge by way of an apology. After the holiday and particularly hacked off one day I sent them a photo of the lounge that day and told them I won't use them again as they obviously overbook their lounges. They asked me, not to use the photos and gave me a full refund. So Twitter does work.... ;)

The U.K. Is far behind the rest of the world when it comes to on line delivery. I think this is mainly due to the lack of motorbike riders. In dubai I can order anything and have it here in 30mins, same for most of the Middle East and Asia.

Of course when it's raining no chance though!!

I ordered a sling for one of my WW1 rifles from the good old US of A, total cost £18, just had a card through the door there is a customs charge of £13, WTF? which I have to pay. The sooner we leave Europe the better as far as I am concerned!

Some fella here, was give it to me that he bought a part for his Jeep Cherokee from the US for a fraction of what it cost in the UK or France, but nothing come for a 2 months, then he called me to ask if I could make a phonecall for him coz the parcel was being held until the duty was paid. Think it ended up costing him 20 quid more plus the longer wait for delivery.

What rifle you got Greenie, not the Enfield is it?

No Mate, not this one, I have 4 Lee Enfields (2 x WW1 and 2 xWW2) in my collection, this is a bit rarer, its a 1914 dated Steyr-Mannlicher M1895 carbine as used in WW1. The slings are rarer than RD at the Valley. Hence buying one from the USA.

Yes mate all deactivated. I started to do my FAC for .303 etc but it was more hassle than it worth and TBH I dont want live* firearms at home, and in any case you cant display 'live' firers, its the history associated with the weapons and other militaria that interest me, if I want to shoot there are range days in France whereby you can shoot the WW1 and WW2 rifles and pistols etc.

*The only live firer I have is a beautiful 1907 dated BSA .22 Air rifle. Its lively and got a kick like a mule, I shot it about 10 times and thats it, its back on display.

I've heard of people getting the old .303's on their UK certs for deer, but wouldn't have a clue about having a working one as a collector.

There are ranges all over France where you can go and have a go on the firearms they keep. It's another easier route people use to owning FAs as it's easier than the hunting licence

I've got a modern day BSA Buccaneer SE (PCP), but it's FAC as it's wey over the legal limit.

    Nice!
I dont know about France but the UK laws for FAC firearms are a pain (rightly in my opinion), you have to belong to a shooting club or have vermin on your land that you want to shoot and control.
They have recently changed the law on deactivated firearms to appease the bedwetters and Daily Mail readers, whereby the weapons have to be welded up completely, they already have the firing pin ground down and a steel rod welded into the barrel. The new law is ridiculous because there is not one case of a WW2 or WW1 deactivated weapon being reactivated and then used. All the new laws have done is tripled the value of some of my collection..... ;o)

Yeah, I had FAC and SGC in the UK, but I had permission on quite a big plot that my friend looks after in Somerset (Deer / fox etc). Like you say though, if it is just for collecting, deactivated is the way to go mate, far less hassle.
