I'm not having a dig but I would actually like to know what the Supporters Director does and what changes, if any have come about as a result of it?
I don't doubt that anyone that has held the position works hard at it, but without any examples of changes that have been brought about, it's hard to judge whether it the position is anything more than a club PR excercise.
It my well be that the role has brought many benifits to fans and maybe these have not received the coverage that they deserve.
Like I said, this is not a dig at anyone that has held the role, I am genuinely interseted in knowing what the role entails and what it has achieved.
You weren't meant to hear any of that. But I want to make it clear that it's not because of anything you've done wrong. It's between me and AFKA. We both still love you and that won't change.
It'll all be out in the open soon enough anyways, so I might as well confess.
I've been seeing Reems... now he's one hell of an Admin! Tall, dark and handsome... everything AFKA's not ;-)
(Oi Henry!) - perhaps there could be a FAQ-style page on the OS explaining this? A page from Steve Sutherland in the programme isn't going to reach everyone, and I'm actually pretty surprised how many people remain in the dark about the issues surrounding this. Sod it, I'll write it if they can't!

The radio thing or the what does the SD do thing?
Good idea, write them both. I like the FAQ format idea.
thats what i like to see a happy ending ah what a great bedtime read that was nearly as long as my alan pardews red and white army thread.Goodnight god bless sleep tight see you all in the morning xxxx
Henry - re your point about the supporters Director.
Obviously I don't know exactly what goes on in the boardroom but I like to think that it is important and worthwhile having a board member who's primary concern is the fans.
That's obviously not to say that the fans will get whatever they want but that they are represented and I like to think that when the big decisions are being made there's someone constantly reminding the board what the concensus is amongst the fans.
My current employer has a very odd setup full of boards, sub boards and committees and sub committees and I regularly sit on these or present to them and it's amazing to see how who's being represented on them has such a huge impact on a company wide decision. Just one voice (to quote Barry Manilow!) can make the whole board stop and think. Might not get the result they want but at least make them consider it.
That's what I think the role should be. To represent the fans in the boardroom on the big decisions that are taking place and also where appropriate and important enough to raise fans concerns in the boardroom so that they may be considered as an agenda point.
I do not see the role as some kind of fans liaison who's answerable to every query coming their way. I think if anything the club should (and maybe do) employ somebody for this purpose. The SD should be accessible but only to the extent that they are able to function properly in their director capacity. Then they should be able to communicate generally with the body they represent (to the extent that they are allowed by the club) and report back.
I definitely don't think that the SD is obliged to personally address every 'Oi' question that comes their way.

My apologies, I hope and expect you are right although with all the new money about I fear our stay may not be as long next time

AFKA: What the hell has been going on here? Look at the bloody mess you've let this place get in
LookOut: I tried my best
AFKA: Your best? Your bloody best? It's not good enough Adam, we need some counselling i think.
Us: Stop arguing mummy and daddy, we'll help clear up
AFKA & LookOut: Shutup you lot, you've caused enough trouble already.
Us: *Run away crying*
AFKA: *Follows us* Come on guys, don't be like that it'll work out, just need to keep to the rules.
LookOut: Exac....
AFKA: I'm not finished with you, come in the kitchen, i want to talk
Will AFKA have us on weekends?
