+++ Charlton complete Thomas Kaminski signing +++

Good signing and hopefully the fan base is still positive after Thomas Kaminski plays for CAFC as well as Will Mannion reacts positively to the challenge of having a senior keeper with Premier and Championship experience.
32 is a peak age for a keeper as long as the body is still at its prime.
The Phil Chapple connection has worked quickly and now for more quality to add to CAFC in the Championship.1 -

NTT20 analysis on Kaminski
Thomas Kaminski (GK) - [Luton - Charlton]- UndisclosedCharlton won promotion last season without a standout shot-stopper. Will Mannion did a solid job, but it was an obvious area to look to upgrade. In Kaminski, they've signed a keeper that's already five years into life in English football: three with Blackburn, two with Luton. Being so popular with Luton fans despite the club suffering double relegation with him in goal reflects well on the once-capped Belgium international. Surely no-one has faced more than Kaminski's 414 shots on target in the last two seasons?! His shot-stopping stats last term don't look great, but the consensus is that he's a very smart stopper with great reflexes. Charlton must be delighted with this signing9 -
This defensive unit and our setup had AMB looking a much better player than he did the season before so I trust in bringing a keeper who is all around better it'll work just fine
as been said the lack of claiming crosses isn't the biggest issue providing he's not coming out sporadically as everyone will know he's staying put and accommodate0 -
Some good saves in those highlights & some you wouldn't expect him to hold but as you say some he just palms the ball back into the danger area.Jdredsox said:Tbf to PH he wasn't competing with Courtois over the last 2 years as Courtois refused to play for Tedescu.
Looks a solid signing, shame for Mannion as he helped us get promoted, but as Jones said there's no room for sentimentality.
Slight concern was that he seemed to push the ball back out into the box in some of those highlights, but statistically he looks to be a good upgrade for us.0 -
It feels like most Championship clubs have three keepers. So this is certainly an upgrade on Bouzanis.0

So much for Kaminski...today's news tomorrows chip paper...😉
...Now then where's Tanto...0 -
Obviously a very decent signing, going off all reports. He's had a rough 2 seasons being relegated twice, I hope that hasn't effected his confidence to much.
If rumours are true in regards to his reluctance to dominate his 18 yard box, it's something I'd like to see him improve on.
The Flemish do make good goal keepers.0 -
Honestly while I'd PREFER a keeper that comes for crosses, I'm not particularly bothered if he does not as long as he's consistent about it.ozaddick said:Obviously a very decent signing, going off all reports. If they never come then defenders can adjust to that, but if you have one that makes CBs second guess or question themselves (like AMB on his bad days) then it's more problematic.2 -

Scott Carson was our POTY in our 06/07 relegation season.

He’ll be playing in front of a very well drilled and confident defence.

I've heard of sweeper keepers, but a holding midfielder keeper would be quite the tactical innovation.Valley11 said:He’ll be playing in front of a very well drilled and confident defence.16 -

Weirdly AMB and Henderson appear in that video but not Will Mannionfenaddick said:0 -
Possibly, I haven't actually seen him in any of the photos. Think it's more likely he just has a little niggle than anything else thoughLargeAddick said:0 -
Nice video, but how good is he at catching a ball late on in the game then falling to the ground unchallenged to waste a bit of time?2

I think Mannion's wife was due to give birth around now, going by either some pictures or an interview.0

Have we re-signed MacGillivray? 😉0
