Been very impressed with him .. people saying he should have done better for the first goal at QPR .. calm down he never stood a chance the fault there if any was Jones and Ramsey letting the cross get that far in our box for an easy tap in ..
I can accept the goal as I think it was a great dummy from Kone and he was set for that. Having played in goal for a few years when my knees gave out, I realised the hardest saves to make were when you were not set so were from first time shots even if they were not great or straight at you. But I am not sure Kaminski is better than Mannion. That still has to be proved IMO but he hasn't lowered the standard to any great extent.
4 games in to the Championship season, 4 goals conceded and people are crying out for the keeper they complained wasn't good enough for most of the L1 season, mostly based on vibe. Fun!
I have always thought Mannion was good enough. I am not calling for Kaminski to be dropped but merely saying he hasn't shown he is an improvement on Mannion yet in my eyes.

I (partly) disagree - Kaminski may not have looked much better than Mannion but I wouldn't say he's looked any worse, and more importantly this is at a higher level.
Mannion looked good in League One but he's at best an unknown quality in the Championship. Even if you do believe them to be more or less equal ability wise, Kaminski has far more experience and in our current position that trumps potential as far as I'm concerned.
I don’t understand why people want Mannion back. He doesn’t save any of the goals we’ve conceded either.
Loved the fact he came for nearly everything and claimed 95% - Kaminski might have better distrupution and is a better shot stopper but there isn't that sense of confidence on corners and crosses when Kaminski never leaves his line.
I like him, he looks relaxed on the ball and has a presence about him. Made a couple of good saves.
My only concern is his coming off the line and claiming crosses where Mannion is better, but when do Charlton ever have a perfect keeper, there is always usually something wrong.

Mannion got much better at claiming crosses as the season went on. The more used to your backline you are and the more familiar you are with their movements and decisions, the more confident you become in making the choice to claim. Kaminski hasn't had a lot of time with the defence in front of him yet so I think that will improve with time.

It may, though I read comments from Luton fans saying he stays glued to his line so just don't think it's part of his game.
I won’t be convinced by Kaminski until I see him coming off his line in a one on one situation. He seems very unsure of himself and I think there was a moment when he could have challenged Kone for the third. And another incident at the Valley where he dithered.
But it was a good stop from the free kick on Saturday.

Maybe, but then they also told us Bell's legs had gone and that turned out to be nonsense. I never put much stock in what opposition fans say about their departing players. It might be true but it might also be something he changes based on the requirements of his team.
The best defences are built on the deep understanding between keeper and the rest of the back line. It was always going to take time for them to gel with a new goalie. What I find a bit puzzling is that it will take much longer when the new boy’s style of play is so different from the previous keeper’s. That could also cause issues if Kaminski is out for any length of time and Mannion comes back in - will require adjustment again.

Bring back Scott Carson.
