Brentford up to 7th, 3 points ahead of Thomas Frank's Spurs...2

Just like Charlton fans at Pompey, if you celebrate before the large lady sings you are asking for an omelette on your face.
Reed only had 3 goals in his career so Liverpool didn't think the wee ginger man was going to hit a screamer.
Emotional rollercoaster for both set of players and fans.

Keith Andrews has to be in for Manager of the Year if he keeps that up, thought they'd be prime for relegation combined with them losing Mbeumo and the other one to Newcastlekillerandflash said:Brentford up to 7th, 3 points ahead of Thomas Frank's Spurs...4 -
Just seen Amorim’s post match comments, taking lessons from Maresca I see0

I think Amorim has realised that the club can not progress under the current ownership & he is not having as much say as he thought he was going to have.fenaddick said:Just seen Amorim’s post match comments, taking lessons from Maresca I see
I still think he's a decent manager but he knows the club are not progressing & cannot progress.
He'll be gone soon I reckon4 -
Don't forget they also sold Christian Norgaard to Arsenal in pre-season.ForeverAddickted said:

Definitely would say it is between City and Arsenal (with City being the ones to host Arsenal), however Liverpool have proven that complacency can translate to bad results and Villa has proven a bad start doesn't mean you're out of it.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
Villa don't have the squad to compete for the title over the course of a full season, so i think they will drop away eventually but they look pretty good for top 4. I think you can rule Liverpool out as well, they're not making up a 15 point gap (12 if they win tomorrow) on Arsenal, simply because you just can't see Arsenal losing more than 3-4 games. Arsenal have already played away at Villa, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man U and Newcastle, and of the big clubs they only have to go away to City in the second half of the season.JustFloydRoad said:
We would say Villa, but at the moment it is Arsenal's to loose can't see Chelsea or Man Utd making that 18 point gap up. Anyone below that I would say realistically doesn't have a chance to win (the league).Elthamaddick said:

I personally want Arsenal to win the title if Villa don't.
We need a change from Man city or Liverpool as long as it's not Chelsea.
I always think it would be nice to have another team other than the six win it, if not anyone other than Man City or Liverpool.
Anything is possible of course and they might have a meltdown but i'd honestly be surprised if Arsenal don't win the league by 7-8 points.0 -

(which they won and lost).Yet to play in the League :*- Chelsea at Home (in the League) 1st March-first match they drew away.**- Liverpool at Home (on Thursday) 8th January- First match they lost away.***- I will give you Man Utd and Newcastle. Although they need to still face them at home on the 25th January and 25th April respectively, they won their away fixture against both, so only could do the double over both of them (with a home advantage). Also worth noting they drew against Man City (at home), so that is a big ask to beat them if they need to do that. You have to also consider, although they should have the squad for it, they are first in the Champions League (league phase), Semis of the League Cup and begin the FA Cup next week.Man City have (a much lesser version) of that if we're being fair.I you want to include Liverpool/ Aston Villa in the conversation they only have the FA Cup and Champions League/ Europa League to worry about.I can only see Chelsea and Manchester United as a potential threat provided they get their house in order.

That was a surreal experience seeing Calum, Harry and Dan on TV after taking a point at Man City. I can't stand Chelsea but pleased for the guys as they will no doubt go
back to coaching the U21, U18, U16. Knowing them from coaching Part time footballers and youngsters in academies, that's so good to say they took on Pep !
Liam Rosenior will be the main man against Charlton as he is flying to London. Make it an U21 FA cup game so our knackered squad can have a rest.
Good result for Arsenal but Man City will be hard to shake off as they are C+D winners.

Listened to the comments. Basically he's doing what all of us would do. No way is he gonna quit unless you pay him off. 18 months to go otherwise.Gravesend_Addick said:

it can be a good 18 months if the board leave him alone or it's gonna continue being inconsistent performances but he won't leave in the meantime.

Would be funny though to see Glanser leave on a whimper (even if it is just a chain of bad results).Maybe he'll try and be Ange.2 (and put all his eggs in the Europa Conference League basket).0 -

In which case, almost every tight decision could be given either way. Crazy.1 -
I’ve been relatively open minded about VAR and was happy to give it a chance. But I’ve given up trying to understand what the benefit of VAR is supposed to be.
First they said it was to address clear and obvious errors, then they said issues like offside were ‘factual’, not subjective, then they started making decisions on fouls and handballs in the box that were very much subjective, because people all over the country are disagreeing with each other on the decision VAR has made. “Clear and obvious error” seems to have gone out the window. Now we’re told that offside isn’t ‘factual’ anymore, it’s got a margin of error. (To be fair, I don’t actually disagree with a margin of error in principle and, I’m assuming, an ‘umpire’s call’ type decision.)
The thing is they keep changing what VAR does and how it’s used, but it never seems to improve anything. All we ever see is complaints about how VAR is applied, when it should be used and when it shouldn’t, errors still being made, decisions still being controversial, the euphoria of a goal being diluted because it might be chalked off, linesmen flagging too late and so on. I don’t know how else to say this:
VAR hasn’t improved anything.3 -
Tipped by many for relegation at the start of the season. Not only did they lose Thomas Frank and their two top scorers (Mbeumo and Wissa), they also lost Norgaard and Flekken.ForeverAddickted said:

Can't think of many teams that wouldn't struggle if they lost their manager and 4 of their top players but they've done incredibly well. If anything how they're doing under Andrews. combined with how poorly Frank is doing at Spurs, suggests that maybe Frank isn't all he was cracked up to be.2 -

You take the money at a Global club like United and you are a head coach not a manager; that disappeared when Alex chewy Fergie time left to spend more time with his horses.0 -
