My season ticket is in the covered end so Nathan Jones isn’t really in close proximity most matches, however sitting just behind him in the lower west last night was interesting/exciting/concerning. I’ve never seen a manager of any club be as intense as he is on the sidelines, he doesn’t stop for the entire match and seems to lose it over the smallest of things.
Do those who normally sit near the dugouts just get used to it during matches?
I noticed it as well. Nathan will freak out over a throw in on the half way line! I suppose calming down a bit might take something from his style, but can it be healthy for the bloke?
Just three managers in the Championship have been at the helm longer than NJ which is pretty telling given that he has only been with us for little more than 18 months.

Hopefully he's not quite so passionate in every aspect of life, living with someone like that would be exhausting if he has a freak out over washing up or some other chores.
A proper modern day Neil Warnock. Hated by opposition fans but adored by his own. Whenever I’ve spoken to him he’s calm and quiet - complete 360 from his pitch side version.
I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I absolutely love it. He is definitely a massive asset for us

I was definitely concerned for his health while watching him last night!

Can you imagine it when his wife says to him its your turn to do the washing up!

Bit Warnock, bit Pardew too. He’s marmite. If he’s at your club, you live him. It’s become fashionable to beat up on him for his time at the car crash club Southampton.

Mate as I have said before sitting behind the dugout watching and listening to NJ is worth the ticket price on its own. Animated isnt the word to describe the bloke but you are right he feels every kick of the ball and reminds me of a conductor the way he is constantly shouting moving players into position

This is very true. Hated by the opposition and adored by his own !
I absolutely love his passion and can totally understand why some players buy into it but others wont.
And if they were honest alot of those fans from other clubs that give him stick would be delighted if he was their Manager

And a bit Sam allardyce with a Chris Coleman accent.

It feels like Jones' intensity was exactly what we needed after ~4 years treading water in mid-table League 1. Has a plan, tactically and in terms of the personnel he wants, and if a player doesn't do what's needed/expected of them they're not going to be in the side.
Can go two ways, but for where we were at the time it worked perfectly (once we got going) and seems to continue to be doing so now.
I'm sure some of the players think he's a bit of an oddball and might not be their cup of tea, but he has substance that so many of our recent managers haven't which is the key difference. They seem to respect him, even if inside they're rolling their eyes at some of the antics.

He'd be far worse watching his wife doing the washing up...
"Oh COME ON, COME ON. Faster, faster."
[Nathan screams in frustration]
"NO, NO, NO. The plates are in the wrong ***king order on the draining board! And look at the ***king mark left on the bottom of this mug!"
[Nathan holds his head in the hands for a minute]
"I'm frustrated, I'm angry. It's totally unacceptable. I'm bringing Danny Hylton home tomorrow to show you the standards I expect with the washing up."

He's nothing like Pardew.

Be thankful for small mercies
